This was a take out order Passing by the store one day and see this banner that says Ramen shop now open. Now when you go ahead and put something so bold as to say Ramen Shop, this implies you have more then just 2 bowls of ramen to offer. I mean why else would you make a 4x2 banner and stick it out your store claiming you have a ramen stand? Curious about this claim, I called the store to see what type of ramen they have seeing how there is no menu on google. They said they only had 2 types, TWO. Spicy and pork. I was like ok? Ill take pork and told them ill be on my way. Stupid me didn't ask how much it was or how much food I was getting seeing how I just assumed it was around the $10-15 mark and that I would be getting a big enough size. I live on the far east side of El Paso, dam near Horizon, so its gonna take me a while to get there. I get to the restaurant about 10 mins before they close due to the distance that I live. The waitress that opens the door doesn't give me such a happy look like I there and then hands me this small tiny bag that was supposed to be my food. I look at her confused and ask if there was another bag. Of course not. She then tells me its $10. As I had over my card, I look inside and this thing looked like if a ramen place had a kids meal. A tiny cup of soup, an ok size of noodles, thin pork slices the size of a half dollar, and half an egg. It looked basic. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I would have thought more ingredients would have gone into it seeing how there is a big banner stating you have a ramen stand. Being optimistic I thought to myself that this must be a concentrated stock and may be something new to try. Kind of like how some ramen and stock comes separate and you have to dip your noodles in a sauce and then eat it. Before leaving the restaurant I see the menu on the side of the door. I look and sure enough there are only 2 types of ramen. Tonkotsu ramen and spicy ramen. So I don't know what pork ramen I ordered. Soup This was disappointing. It didn't have a fatty texture but was super light and watery. When I tasted it, it tasted like it came from a package. But not Tonkotsu. It tasted like a weak shio ramen base but was too salty. So I wouldn't know what to call it. Noodles The noodles were alright and were super soft (possibly due to my fault for ordering them too early). I had no qualms with the noodles. Pork This was extremely upsetting to me to call this "pork ramen". The pork was thinly sliced and were the size of a half dollar. It really looked like a ramen happy meal but with inflated prices. The pork was soft but didn't have any flavor nor the taste that you usually associate pork and ramen together. If they want their "ramen shop" to thrive here they should look at other places that charge the same or a little more. I was supposed to take a friend here to try this but thanked my lucky starts I didn't and save him from this embarrassment they called "ramen". As I don't think this idea is a bad one, why not try making a bigger bowl for adults and market this bowl as a kids one. read more

Prior to going to Sushi Time, Kee's Teriyaki has always been my go to for sushi in El Paso (and I still love Kee's, but it is definitely out of the way for me). Sushi Time is a buffet, serving the rolls you would expect and ones you've never tried. One of my biggest pet peeves is having sushi prepared by someone who has only been trained in house to make it, but doesn't frequently eat sushi. Usually when that happens, the rolls are too large, have too much rice or not enough, and the ingredients aren't at the right temperature. I'm so happy to report that Sushi Time's Chef knows exactly what he's doing. The rolls are bite sized and portioned correctly. I think I tried just about every roll that was put out and each and every single one was delicious. The sushi buffet is a bit small, but I actually appreciate that because then I know each roll is fresh (you'll see them being prepared as each roll disappears). You can also order off their sushi menu, which is included in the purchase of the buffet (but like any other sushi buffet, you must finish the rolls before ordering more...this avoids a person ordering five rolls, but only eating four pieces). I loved that the sushi rolls ranged from typical to fried or even topped in Panko. They also offered a couple of different sauces which I loved (you have to try the Sweet and Spicy if you're a fan of Siracha). There are a few other items available like Gyoza (Pot-stickers/Fried Wontons). Everything I tried tasted fresh and hand-made which I think is very different for a buffet (even a small one) because most buffets cut corners any way they can. They also had a small dessert section that I wasn't impressed by. However, I didn't go to a sushi buffet for dessert which is why I didn't let that affect ST's score. From the pictures you can see that the ST has a clean, cut look to it with a touch of class. The walls are lined with red seating (basically open booths) and the rest of the tables have black, modern seating. The lighting is composed of crystal chandeliers which somehow gave off the perfect amount of lighting. It's a pretty open floor plan. Service is what I'd expect, friendly and fast. So no complaints in that department. I will definitely be choosing Sushi Time over all the other sushi places in the Stonehaven area. read more

The sushi is great. You can either order rolls individually or you can purchase the buffet (which allows you to order rolls with no extra charge as well). For two people we paid around $38 including tax for 2 buffets and two drinks. You do the math ($19+- per person including tax). That seems steep but it's not when you consider how much sushi you can eat and the fact that you can order any roll off of the menu at no extra cost. The sushi bar may look small but they have a large variety of sushi and fried goodies like gyoza and fried sweet potatoes as well. And this may not matter to some, but it matters to me... being half Korean myself I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this business is Korean owned. They play k-pop and other Korean music inside of the restaurant which adds a pretty cool vibe. The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 star review is because they don't have a great selection of desserts. Now I know what you're thinking... "but you went there for sushi... who cares about dessert?" My problem is that if I'm paying for a buffet I want the whole eating experience. They had chips ahoy cookies and little cream puffs out on display to put things in to perspective. They don't have to make their own desserts but if they're going to buy them then they might as well buy something good. Last thing I will say is that this place is much better than Tokyo grill house. It's cheaper in price, fresher in taste and an overall better experience. read more

Went to this place due to good reviews well it's very disappointing that helpers would give this place 4 stars. $9.99 lunch special for 3 rolls-- cool! Well I get my plate and it's hardly a rolls for the entire 3 rolls together. I mean seriously?!! Talk about false advertisement. I mean the rolls are okay not amazing but I felt like the portion sizes are for 5 year olds. Hubby ordered 2 rolls and again, the roll is almost only as small as a quarter in diameter and sliced so thinly for $13.00 each! If you're looking for a place to have sushi for lunch, I highly recommend the Sushi Time buffet, they have a good selection of great tasting sushi rolls on the buffet in addition to a few hot dishes at a great price! I tried most of the rolls on the lunch buffet and liked all of them (the ones I didn't try were for personal preference), don't expect anything fancy, but they get the basics right. You can complement them with chicken teriyaki or other hot items from the buffet, though there's only about 5 or 6 hot dishes, which were okay. Food aside, the restaurant has a nice, casual atmosphere, and both the hostess and sushi chef were amicable. I'm hesitant to come here for dinner, however, as the dinner buffet is more expensive and while naturally I would expect more from it, I'm not sure where that would go and for about $5 more than the dinner price here I can go to nearby Tokyo House. Delicious food. Comfy place. The owners are sweethearts. I've known this place for almost a year and I've fallen in love with it. First of all, sushi is great. The most simple rolls such as Cali are still amazing. Kitchen is delightful. The owners are absolutely sweet and kInd. Best sushi I've tried in my life, no doubt about it, and I've been a sushi fanatic for quite a while! Have tried a lot of places and I've found my favorite here. Sub-par sushi. But what can you expect from being in El Paso? However they do offer a lunch special, three rolls for $9.99. I got a crunchy California, tuna time, and spicy crab roll. Each rolls has the exact same stuffings. Avocado, crab, and cucumber... Except for the crunchy California which has cream cheese. The tuna time is the roll topped with a very tiny slice of tuna. However, the yellow tail nigiri I ordered was very good and a pretty good sized piece of fish on it. (Not pictured). I'll probably come again to see if it's different another time. read more

Jessica and I visited the sushi time restaurant Sunday. The restaurant was quiet and very quaint...it was the first time for us. We had the catepillar, red moon, and crunchy shrimp roll, and the miso soup. Everything was absolutely amazing..prices were very reasonable. Not very impressed. Was expecting the 4 stars that they have on here and didn't even come close. Maybe a 2.5 at best. First off they no longer do the sushi buffet that was advertised. The sushi rolls average about 11 or 12 dollars and are half the size of say sushi zen or even sushi place on post. The service is the bare basics mainly because the hostess is also the waitress for the whole restaurant. No refills, no asking if I wanted another sake, didn't even ask how the meal was. This is our go-to place for sushi in El Paso after trying many others. They no longer serve buffet style, but that is in your favor- lovely, fresh-tasting sushi! Service is always excellent and with a smile. The sushi chef always comes over and asks us is everything was to our liking, which is always is. Highly recommend the excellent lunch deal they have going- you will not find a better price on great tasting sushi anywhere! $9 or $10 for two or three rolls of sushi and soup! I finally made my first trip to Sushi Time, and I was not disappointed. I went later at night, and decided to order sushi to go. The hostess was very helpful, and friendly. The chef was also very polite, and welcoming.The atmosphere was great. The price of my roll was similar to any other place I've been, and tasted just how I like it. The size was perfect, and didn't have too much of one ingredient (like rice). The buffet for dinner seems a bit pricey for me, but I'll be checking it out for lunch some time soon! read more

It was my first time ordering from ST. I usually go to Sunnys which is in the same area but unfortunately for me they were closed for remodel. Anyways I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and when I got to work I opened the box and it was just fried shrimp. I called back and spoke to the waitress who took my order and instead of apologizing she kept saying that's what I ordered. (I know what I ordered and it was a sushi roll, not hard and cold breaded shrimp.) The manager got on the phone and said that I could pick up a roll of shrimp tempura tomorrow, but I would need to pay the difference. Are you kidding me. First Sushi spot Ive been to here in El Pso. My first time there was pretty good. I had Sunomono salad, Crunchy Spicy Tuna, Sushi Time, and another roll (can't remember) with sweet Green Tea. If you look at the udon noodles section in the menu there's only three options: chicken, tempura, or beef. With each option saying you get that with vegetables, thick noodles and soup. Well I'm used to tempura being tempura shrimp but in this case it was just tempura veggies. How does tempura veggies get priced the same as chicken?! Also, the udon broth is nothing like any of the udon soup I've had before. And when I was asked what I would like to drink, I asked for hot water. Don't try to upsell me hot green tea. I saw your menu, and I asked for hot water. For a bowl like this, just watered down flavored udon soup, with noodles, slices of onions/carrots for $10??! I'll drive to Dragonfly for a Tonkatsu ramen which the broth is a lot more flavorful and satisfying. AND when I show up it was empty. That was a warning sign I should have taken up on! When I walk in, this man, maybe the owner or manager was just sitting at his table and just said hi. Didn't know if I should take a seat or how did this work? I was not happy and only took two bites. This place speaks for itself, just go visit on any given night and you're lucky if there's more than 3 customers dining. The food was terrible. Don't take my word for it, go try it yourself. We ordered the shrimp tempura and a Hala roll. They didn't clean the shrimp so it still had bits of fecal matter and my wife nearly puked. Literally CRAP! If this is your first time eating Japanese food, please don't make this your 1st choice, otherwise you're going to think Japanese food sucks in general. My wife came from Japan and she was very disappointed in the quality. On top of that, I ordered a large Sapporo, I was told "sorry sir we don't have any", then a single lady to my right ordered a crab roll, they told her "sorry mam, we don't have any, the truck doesn't come in until tomorrow"! 30 minutes later a couple walked in and sat to our left, they ordered a hot sake, they were told "sorry, we don't have any"!
