    Fish and chips

The first visit was the best the food was delicious, cod, fries, had flavor and not dry. The cook did a great job. Second and third visit was horrible, not the same cook. Fish, cod, overcooked/dry, the fish batter had no taste. The fries tasted like the fish possibly cooked in same old oil, disgusting. No matter how much tartar sauce or lemon juice I dumped the fish in it still didn't help. I had to force myself to eat it. I did notice it was mama-san cooking the orders. Very disappointing. Hope you get the help you need in the kitchen, "QUALITY OF FOOD THAN QUANTITY OF CUSTOMERS" .

My goodness. Y'all... don't sleep on this hidden gem. I absolutely love their menu selection. We had 2 pc catfish combo and a Las Vegas roll plus some prawns. Everything exceeded my expectations. The flavor, freshness, and price are great. They have such a large sushi selection plus fried fish. The breading on the fish is not greasy (like that famous chain) it's so crunchy and has great flavor. Their tartar sauce is also different but in a good way. They have fried desserts too but I had no room and I'm seriously sad about that. Come give them a try you won't be disappointed. It's not often I give 5 stars, honestly I'd give more if I could. They take apple pay, google pay, credit and debit and of course good ole cash money. The establishment is clean, which is a big thing for me and you can feel the cleanliness, it's super cute inside too.

Perhaps something happened since the last review about three months ago. Food lacked flavors to say the least IMHO. I was desperately wanting to like this place since it's located very near to where I live, and I like fried food especially seafood (I really shouldn't eat fried food, but hey I don't do it every day). Past reviews sounded very promising to me, so I went. To their credit interior ambiance was very nice as I waited for my take-out orders. Nautical themed decor was well fitting for the type of food they serve. In particular, there was an indoor water fountain (photo) that provided very soothing water sound enhancing the ambiance. There's something to be said about the sound of water which gives a very calming effect at least to me. The nice girl told me on the phone there are now seating for seven (7) for dining-in when I called to inquire about their business hours. Food -- I decided to order a fish and calamari & chips combination plate. Unfortunately, it totally lacked wow factor for me. Fish (cod?) fillet was decently sized, but lacked flavoring. Calamari was a total disappointment. There was definitely significantly more batter than calamari itself and lacked flavoring. I could not detect any taste from calamari. They offer variety of rolled sushi. Perhaps I may come back and try some of those. But again, this is a "fast food" fish & chips joint, so I don't expect them to be any better than supermarket boxed sushi, right? I'm glad for folks who had much better experiences evidenced in 5-star reviews in the past. As for me, it's going to be a long while before I have to come back here if ever...too bad for me. My quest for better food continues...

Walk up order counter. Great food and great prices. Surprised I haven't been here sooner. Small dining area. Food is the star.

Don't let the outside fool you. The food here is surprisingly fresh and crispy. Fish fillet portions are plentiful. Definitely going to be my go to spot for fried seafood. Didn't try the sushi but the selection looks good. Hands down way better than the "national fried fish chain." Can't believe I'm barely getting to know about this place. My kid gives it a 10 /10, and she never does this, so there it is.

I love codfish. But I strongly recommend catfish, even more! It seems to be breaded with a mixture of corn and wheat. I need to find it out.

One young lady, I imagine she was the hostess, made a displeased face when we walked in, sighed visibly and trotted over to greet us and seat us at a table. Terrible first impression, I have to say. Our server, Trey (hope I spelled it right) was nice, professional, knowledgeable and overall a pleasure. I guess he made the experience more bearable, but not by much. We ordered some appetizers (mozzarella stick, chips and queso, hush puppies and shrimp) that were good. The main dish, the crab fried rice, touted fresh crab in its description. I don't expect the crab to move in my plate to prove it is fresh, but whatever was put on top of the fried rice was not crab, by any definition I have encountered. It seem it was leftover scraped crab from the day's cleaning of the shells, combined with too much pepper. WAY TOO much. The fried rice wasn't any better, could not eat much of it. The onions that were cut with an axe were the proverbial onion on your fried rice. I believe that when restaurants have something to hide, they will over season the food, so the customer can't tell it was not fresh. Very disappointed. This place is not sure what it wants to be : seafood, Southern Louisiana, Korean, Japanese or Chinese. They should pick a theme and stick with it. It's expensive for the quality of the food. Won't be back, and don't recommend.

*Drinking game: Drink every time you read the words "fish and chips"…read more If you know nothing else about me, you should know this...I am 80% comprised of fish and chips. Fish and chips may be my fave thing to eat in the whole entire world and that's not an exaggeration...you can take that to the bank. Seriously, if a place serves up fish and chips, I'm ordering it. Doesn't matter if they're ridiculously fancy and fish and chips is only on their menu as a joke, I'm ordering it and I won't leave until they deliver (not that I've ever seen a place have joke items on a menu...I'm just saying if someone wanted to mess with my emotions that's the way to do it and that's how serious I take my fish and chips). The only thing I've ever had at The Reef Mobile Kitchen is the fish and chips. There's a chance this isn't always on the menu and if it's not, I'm not going. Although I highly doubt fish and chips aren't always on the menu. If you want to know where they're at check out their Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/reeftruck), but it's almost always a safe bet that they'll be at Foodville. So since it's the only thing I can speak on. Scratch that. Write on. Let's delve into the fish and chips. Plump pieces of white fish, I'm guessing cod (much like my beer identifying abilities, my fish identifying abilities are almost nonexistent). Crisp, batter on the outside served along side large fries, a couple of lemon wedges, and tarter sauce. It's all really good and done in-house! You will not regret this. And the truck is easy to spot. Big blue. That's all you need to know. Check it out and definitely check out Isaac M's review for a deets on the Mojo Quesadilla that sounds ridiculously amazing. May have to order that along side some fish and chips next time. And another plus is since it's a food truck you know you're getting a meal under $10.

She did well to make sure we were taken care of, but she was not challenged. Though there was good variety on the menu, we dropped in for some ramen or other soups. They had a spicy seafood udon, but I ordered the wonton ramen, which came in a a white broth. The noodles were cooked well and had plenty of shrimp wontons I got to try Liz's spicy beef ramen that came in a metal tin. Hot spicy red broth. Plenty of beef, broccoli tips, and cabbage. It was pretty good. Not the best I had, but it came out smoking hot. I also ordered the kimchi fried rice. It was very good and the cook dropped a sesame seed topped fried egg on top. For $9, it was amazing. Plenty enough for two, but it's a meal for one. Plenty of parking in a shared parking lot of Dyer. There's an Asian market next door, but we didn't stop there. I did want to buy some longonisa for the house, but next time I'd come back to try out more food and grab some hard to find groceries, for sure.

I've had it bookmarked since I moved here in 2020, but I never found it because it looked like a closed strip mall. I always ended up at Kalbi House across the way instead. Did you know they have amazing lunch specials? Their menu is extensive, featuring not only sushi but also delicious Korean dishes like Kimchi fried rice! It was legit--perfectly cooked with a generous portion. The egg was wonderfully yolky, too! And here's a fun twist: you can grab a huge drink next door! At first, I was confused when the waitress mentioned it, but then I realized it's a mini Asian market! My mind was blown! You wouldn't expect such a tidy little market behind that drab building with odd parking. I honestly thought it was a laundromat or a vape shop! The owner, who was Indian, came out and offered me a sample of Kalbi. It was interesting because I had some Kalbi short ribs from Economy that I wanted them to try, as theirs came from Sam's and the cut wasn't quite right. The marinade was tasty, but they might have gone a bit heavy on the sesame seeds. The meat was a little chewy, likely because it steamed instead of grilling properly. I hope they start using Economy's Kalbi cuts to improve that! The pricing is really fair, and this market is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for affordable and delicious Korean or Chinese food in the Northeast. I'll definitely be back for that Kimchi fried rice! Check them out at 5700 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904!
