Avoid Avoid Avoid. They leave messages dictating when they will show up for service but then don't. Or at least if they do I would never know it because I travel for work and I'm often not at home when they show up. I have a fully fenced yard so if the servicer can't get in the house, garage or in the yard, there cannot be service. Called to cancel in May, was told I had paid for service so I should call back in August. Received another bill this month. Allegedly someone showed up the day I called to cancel service which isn't possible - I was home. If my home had been service, the technician surely would have noticed the carpenter bees boring holes in the siding of the front of the house. I was told I should have called for a recheck. Why? Because they didn't inspect and treat the property when they were supposedly there? The individual who last "serviced" the inside of my home did not go into the attic, instead threw another plastic bate box up there. Basement bait boxes were not checked either. When I asked the manager for the phone number for their corporate offices he gave me the number for a franchise in Virginia. That franchise gave me the number thereby earning the 1 star. A very pushy rep ( Josh) for Pointe Pest Control kept coming to my house to try and get me to sign up with his company. He kept offering me services that were MUCH cheaper than what I was currently paying (if it's too good to be true, then it usually isn't good.) He did not mention anything about an "early cancellation fee." Within just two months of switching to Pointe Pest Control, I found that their products did not work well at all (I had ants, spiders, mosquitoes, etc. which were all under control with my old pest control co.) Their service people NEVER checked in with me to see how things were going. They showed no customer service what so ever! When I called to tell them that I was unhappy and wanted to switch back to my old pest control co., they did not ask me at all about what was wrong, instead they just said " You have a $150 early termination fee that is due." Pointe Pest Control was pushy, unconcerned with their clients needs, and used ineffective products that did not work at all. In talking with my neighbors, I have found that most of them would never use Pointe Pest control for their pest control needs. We've been using Pointe for many years now, and they've helped tremendously with mice, spiders etc. Living in an unincorporated area, we had lots of critters & bugs. Well, we sold that house and moved less than a mile away, downsized and desperately needed Pointe for spiders and stink bugs (YUCK!). They've been so helpful, from the coworkers in the office to Albert (our onsite tech) AND they will always come back at no charge in between our scheduled quarterly visits if we see bugs and/or critters. Mike is the technician who treated my home. He was friendly, respectful, and happy to answer all questions with complete and detailed information. He explained why he used each treatment type for each area. He explained the hows and whys of pests coming to be and what to expect in getting them to leave. I signed up for service for the year and as a landlord booked every single appointment. After the service was over Pointe showed up one morning on their own, without my consent, and billed me for an extra treatment. My tenant didn't question it because he thought I had scheduled the appointment. The manager swears that my tenant was the one that called and scheduled the appointment. I have a really hard time trusting this company and will not recommend them to anyone. read more

I found this service to be a total scam. Basically, they show up when you are not home, walk around your house and then bill you. You are forced to sign a 1-year contract before you figure out it is a scam. Worth paying the termination fee to get rid of them and stop the ongoing billing. Don't fall prey to the pushy salesmen who come to your door and tell you how many of your neighbors are using the service. read more

Pointe has been consistent and reliable, and we have had good results working with them. They haven't been pushy, we get autocalls before they come out and can request inside service if necessary. I looked through the other reviews and am surprised as I could not be happier. We had a fairly major ant problem and they took care of it, plus any time I called saying I saw more they came out and took care of it right away without any resistance. They even found ants in places I didn't, which would have cost me a fortune to fix had it gone unnoticed. I move appointment times constantly as my schedule changes and never once have received any grief for it. I talked with neighbors and I've yet to hear a complaint. I just renewed for another year and look forward to keeping the service as it is unbelievably handy to be able to call for an appointment whenever I need it without worrying about a line of crap on how much more it will cost me. read more

Have been using Pointe for years now. We have quarterly service where they treat outside. Have had very little problem with pests. When the pesky ants show up in Spring, I call them and they are usually out the next day to treat inside. They had to treat twice this year ... ants were very persistent. We have been a customer since 2008 and pleased with Pointe Pest. They eliminated our ant problem in the first year and have come out as needed to treat mice in the basement/garage area, spray for spiders and address anything else that crawls. They look for an remove wasp nests on the exterior. The technicians are consistently on time for the scheduled appointments. In 5 years, most every technician has been courteous and professional. We live in a heavily wooded lot and have been using Pointe since we moved in 4+ years ago. The service techs are professional and knowledgeable and the administrative staff friendly and helpful. We 'rarely' see any pests inside, if we do - they quickly respond and take care of any problem. I love the fact they come out not only the 4x per year but any time you call. We signed up for the annual contract and are satisfied with all aspects of Pointe Pest Control. I am not sure what the other posts are complaining about - the contract is very easy to understand and everyone should READ something BEFORE they sign. So far so good. On their first visit they found carpenter ants which our previous exterminator overlooked. After their second visit we are still bug free. For those of you worried about the early cancellation fee, if you signed up with a door to door salesman who did not tell you about your three day right to cancel the contract, or if you signed up before being advised of the cancellation fee, the cancellation fee it is most likely not enforceable. read more

We used Anderson Pest Control for 13 years and had recurring problems with carpenter ants, carpenter bees and mice (we live in the woods). Being new to the woods, I thought this was normal. In a weak moment I listened to Pointe's pitch and switched. It was the best decision I have ever made. Our technician is superb. We haven't seen a carpenter ant or bee. have been a customer of Pointe Pest Control for about two years. I had a problem with carpenter ants which the company managed to eradicate. All my other pests have disappeared other than problems with gnats (stemming from fruit in grocery stores) and Japanese beetles coming in to my home from the outside. I also found a wasp hive in my outside siding. A service technician made an additional service call to my home for no charge and did pump chemicals into the hole. Several days later I caulked the area and the problem has been eliminated. The service technician was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and explained that pest control companies are limited by federal regulations as to the chemicals that can be applied. We have had Pointe Pest Control for 5 years. We tried the service after buying an older house and seeing too many spiders in the basement and a few mice in winter. We no longer see spiders or mice and if there ever is a time that we see a random spider, we call Pointe and they come out within a day and do a free service call.
