We pulled into Arches National Park in Tuesday in our RV and noticed something was wrong with one of our tires. It was hard to know which, but something was "off". It was almost closing time, but we called Point S and talked to Colby. He said to come first thing in the morning and he'd do all he could to get us squared away. We stayed the night in Moab and went to see Colby first thing. It was important for us to figure out what was happening as quickly as possible, as we were are on a road trip getting our daughter off to college in Denver! We have all her things with us, and she had to be there by Thursday! Colby was immediately able to identify that one of tires didn't have the lug nuts tightened properly! We just had all tires replaced in San Diego prior to starting our road trip, so we were shocked by the discovery. Efrain took care of the problem, and checked all the other tires as well. Not sure I should say what happened bc they may not be able to this for everyone but needless to say they fixed our tire, super fair price and quick and helped make it possible for my buddy and I to get to the trailhead. Was supposed to be in Moab for a couple days but ran into car trouble on the way out on Wednesday night. Drove my car there (barely) and they checked it out about 2 hours later. They gave me the ever so bad news but would be able to fix it the next day. There was a small hiccup with the people who delivered the parts for my car which caused a delay. I was worried I wouldn't make it back to Colorado for my first day of work Monday but Colby and his team really took care of me. They stayed after hours to ensure my car was done so I could make it back before Monday. They were super nice about everything and kept in good contact about what was going on with my car! I never give top marks for reviews because there is always room for improvement or I would of given 5 stars. I had a blow out on tire of my Mini Cooper.....I use it as a toad car on my motorhome. It happened on Saturday late afternoon and everything "tire" was closed until Monday morning. I left word on the web site of the tire size and Tami got back to me first thing on Monday. The most straight forward and helpful people. I was passing through with my wife and kids and we were driving with a loud noise in the wheel. The guy who helped me (i forgot his name) gave me his best judgment based on my description of the problem. He thought it was a wheel bearing, and looked up the part for our Eurovan. The closest was in Salt Lake City and would take one day. I decided to push on through to Provo because we were trying to make progress on the road. The attendant was so helpful in terms of troubleshooting and estimates. In the end I got it fixed in Provo and he was correct about the wheel bearing and the price. We were on an extended road trip around the country in our RoadTrek. A friendly motorist followed us out of Canyonlands honking and flashing lights until we stopped to tell us we had tire trouble. It was late in the day but I called this shop and they said to come in anyway. Upon our arrival at 5 minutes to closing, Colby showed us our dangerously bulging back tires. They stayed past closing time to replace the four back tires and saved us from having what could only have been a dangerous situation on a very busy highway. They really saved our trip. Was on vacation on Saturday November 4 (2018) in Moab, UT when I discovered I needed to put some air in one of the tires on my rental vehicle. At the time, I didn't know if I had a leak. The Visitor's Center at Arches National Park recommended going to a 7 Eleven in town and put air in the tire. Did so and found out that there appeared to be a leak in the tire. When I asked, the 7 Eleven recommended I go to Point S in Moab to have the tire checked. As I found out, Point S closes at 2:00 PM on Saturday's. I arrived at Point S at 1:40 PM. Next thing I knew, despite being near closing time, they asked for the keys and took a look at the vehicle's tires. They found and fixed a leak caused by a small nail. My girlfriend and I were back on the road heading back to Arches National Park around 2:30 PM. Despite arriving with the vehicle just before closing time, they were polite and kind and fixed the tire without one negative comment. Eventhough I hope I never have to use them again for tire issues, I would go back to this place for car help in a heartbeat, even if all they could do for me is provide a recommendation for where to go next. What could have been a vacation nightmare became a vacation rescue, and the final bill was surprisingly cheap considering Moab is a tourist haven. If you ever have tire problems in Moab, go see Point S. They understand customer service as well as anyone anywhere. read more

Friends, off-roaders, overlanders, spread this far and wide. We were quoted $70 for an alignment, after the guy had looked at the truck and was informed about the new upper control arms. After 2 hours of being up in the air (after we were told it would get to a lift in 20, and probably be done 30 mins after that) the guy tried to charge us more than double because his shop was not prepared to take a truck like ours... Go here if you want to waste valuable trail time, your patience, and your money. (Mildly lifted 2005 nissan on 33's) read more

I took my truck there yesterday to have the oil changed and tires rotated at 10am. I returned 6 hours later to get my truck. I walked into the office to get my keys and pay my bill. To my shock, I was ignored by Mark. I waited for 30 minutes while he helped customers that came in after me. Mark then asked me if I was there to check up on my truck and that he hadn't called me to come and get it. The way he treated me made me feel like I was not allowed to get my vehicle without his phone call and his permission. If they can't/didn't get the work done, that's one thing, but being treated as if I was in the wrong is absolutely unacceptable. Also, if you wont be able to get the work done, call and let me know. Now I am going to have to find another mechanic shop, one that actually treats their customers right. Mark, you have made Point S lose my business, along with my family and friends. This past June we leaving from vacation in Moab on a Friday afternoon and blew a trailer tire just 15 mins outside town, causing a great deal of damage to the underside of the trailer and the wheel itself. I called PointS and spoke to Colby, who much to my surprise said no problem, bring it in and we'll have you on your way in a couple hours. And their team did just that! I was fully expecting to be stuck in Moab a few more days because the other 2 places I called before PointS had no availability to fix our trailer wheel. But thanks to Colby and PointS team we were on our way by dinner time. To the gentleman with the beard who worked so diligently to fix that trailer wheel- you are amazing! Colby, who runs OTR, is professional, knowledgeable and honest. Our van needed to be towed 20mins from Moab, with a flat tire and issues with our wheel barring. Colby and his team received us on time and within a few hours we were back on the road. The work pricing for the wheel barring was a lot cheaper than another mechanic. We've had history with overpaying with mechanical work for our van, which we are taking cross country. They opened early, were prompt and courteous on the phone when I called to make an appointment. They were equally helpful when I came in. The manager was fantasticn in diagnosing the problem and the mechanic who did the work was extremely thorough and capable. To top it off, he communicated with throughout the whole process updating me on what was wrong and how they were fixing my brakes. On our way to Moab one recent night, we were driving down Rt. 128 and our Tesla hit a rock sitting in the middle of the road. (The Tesla sits very low, only about four inches of clearance.) The rock made a gash in the undercarriage air dam. We were directed to the Point S garage (Moab Tire & Auto) where we were welcomed by the owner / head mechanic, Colby Schocknmyer. He immediately put our worried selves at ease. He explained he'd had some training on Teslas in his former job in Salt Lake City. He was respectful of our concern and ultra-careful with our car. He got the car up on a lift and did a basic repair on the gash. He determined that the damage would not threaten the functioning or safety of the car. He charged us only a minimal fee for the service--which was much appreciated. It was so good to be relieved of our anxiety around the damage. Got the dreaded check engine light while driving around Moab. I went to OTR because of their great Yelp reviews, and they didn't disappoint. The friendly guy that helped us (wish I had gotten his name) hooked up his OBD scanner and was happy to explain to me what the code meant. Long story short, we didn't need service today and he refused to take payment for the diagnosis. If I ever need a mechanic and I'm anywhere near Moab, I'll definitely be giving OTR my business. read more

We are traveling back to California and needed 4 new tires on our 5th wheel. They had 4 new tires waiting for us when we got there,and had 4 guys to put them on as soon as we got there. We were visiting Moab for a convention and needed our exhaust mount re-welded. We called ahead and they suggested us brining it in to take a look. We took our 4wd Volkswagon Vanagon in and they said okay but we'd have to go buy the flex tubing that they needed to weld on. Okay. No problem. We ran over and got the part and left the rest up to them. When we got back an hour and a half later, the welder had left and the remaining workers didn't know how to weld. So they suggested using couplings to fix it until we got back home. All in all, the possibly spent 30 minutes on the vehicle, took up 3 hours of time, and charged us for 2 hours of labor! The other weld broke the next day but we won't be back to this place even for a windshield cleaning. The only star given is for friendliness of staff. read more
