The Laptop Guy impressed the heck out of me! I called, on a Sunday, because the "w" key on my…read morelaptop keyboard stopped working suddenly. My laptop is my livelihood, so getting it fixed was imperative. When I called, the first thing he did was tell me how to try to get it working by myself. In the meantime, he would look up the price for a replacement keyboard. My first attempt didn't work, but in a second call, he helped me through the difficulty, and then it worked! Even if it hadn't, he told me it wouldn't cost more than $50 in labor to switch out the board. He was nice and generously gave his time to help me through this without any profit. It's possible that this fix won't last, so he sent me a link to a reputable dealer where I can get a new keyboard to have handy. I can say with certainty that if it fails again, I'll be calling him to do the work!

I walked in unannounced and was greeted professionally with a smile. I showed him how I tried to do the soldering myself but failed miserably. He didn't judge me and he immediately could tell where my mistakes were. After chatting with him for about 15 seconds, I could tell that Moni is a Jedi when it comes to electronics. Dude is very intelligent and I could tell that he has decades of experience. He knocked out my job quickly and charged a very fair price. He saved me at least $900 for doing this. If I have any other electronic projects in the future you best believe that I will be contacting him. Thank you Moni for your help.

Chris does great work... if you can ever get him to finish it…read more He came out right away to consult on two consoles I had with separate problems. He replaced the capacitor for one, and took the turntable for the other with him to fix. He brought it back the next day repaired. The work for both was over a thousand... maybe 1200 or so. Fast, efficient. Worth it... if it had ended there. But it didn't. The console with the replaced capacitor still had the same problem and the turntable had a new issue and wasn't playing out of one channel. These things happen, no problem... so I texted Chris this, and he would occasionally get back to me but would not commit to come out and finish the work. After months of this I started to get worried. Finally, two or three months later of hounding him constantly, I got him to come out to at least fix the turntable - but only AFTER I had diagnosed the issue myself (was simply a loose wire in the cartridge that needed soldering) and told him not to worry about the second console for now (which he said he'd have to take into his shop since he had no room) if that was what was preventing him from coming out. That worked. He came. Soldered the one wire and one player was working fully. I was happy for at least that. We discussed having him take the other console into his shop in a month or so when he had room and finish what he started... I knew there would extra costs and told him so. Nevertheless, he has stopped responding to any communication from me at all since that day. That was months ago now. Judging by other reviews on here about Chris ghosting them, I fear that is the treatment I'm getting and it's the last I've heard from him. I'll have to find someone else to finish the work I suppose.

I helped him get the TV down from the wall and lay the TV on a table to take the back off. He immediately knew what he was looking for and quickly found the problem. My experience with Dan's Mobile TV Repair was extremely disappointing, not because of the repair…read moreitself, but because of the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service. Dan and I had already confirmed an appointment and agreed on a time. At no point was I told that I needed to answer an additional confirmation call in order for him to honor that appointment. When I eventually spoke with Dan around 1:30 p.m., he told me he was going to eat lunch and then come over to do the job. Fine. We continued waiting for him based on his word. Then, around 3:00 p.m., I received a text saying it was now too late for him to come and asking if he could come the following morning. I explained that we had been waiting for him and that I needed the work done that day. Instead of simply acknowledging the inconvenience or taking responsibility for telling me he was coming and then changing his plans, Dan became argumentative. He went on a tirade about how I was "not his boss," that he was "in control," and somehow tried to make the entire situation my fault because I hadn't answered his earlier phone call. That argument makes absolutely no sense considering we subsequently SPOKE, and during that conversation he specifically told me he would come after he ate lunch. That is the part that bothers me most. Things happen. Schedules change. Jobs run late. I understand all of that. What I cannot tolerate is someone giving me their word, failing to keep it, and then becoming confrontational while trying to blame me for their decision. Customer service isn't about who is "the boss" or who is "in control." It's about communicating clearly, treating customers with respect, and doing what you say you're going to do. If Dan had simply said, "I'm sorry, I can't make it today after all," I would have been disappointed, but I could have respected the honesty. Instead, I got excuses, blame, and an unnecessary argument. If you use Dan's Mobile TV Repair, make absolutely certain you answer every call--even after you believe your appointment has already been confirmed--because based on my experience, if Dan doesn't show up, you may find yourself being blamed for him not keeping his word. For me, trust matters. If I can't trust someone to do what they say they're going to do--or at least communicate honestly when they can't--I can't trust them with my business. I'm done with Dan's Mobile TV Repair.

Let me share with you an awesome experience with the founder and owner of The Device Lab, Austin,…read morewho is calm, cool, collected, down to earth, and who impressed me so much that I feel compelled to share my story here. I would like to express my appreciation of Austin's professional ingenuity and get the word out that he is head and shoulder above Genius Bar in what he does-- device repair. Price is reasonable. Here is the quick story: Last Saturday (08-15-2026) I took my 2016 Apple MacBook Pro to Apple Genius Bar for diagnostic and repair, where I was received with utmost courtesy, waited there patiently for 1.5 hours, witnessed my computer given all kinds of diagnostic tactics by the receptionist, who did with all her earnest effort to revive it. Unfortunately I had to leave Genius Bar with the announcement that my MacBook Pro is "beyond repair." Unconvinced, I tried my luck on another store from online search and found The Device Lab, and Austin fixed it! Well, an old computer is an old computer and there is no need for much fuss or excitement about this triviality. But Austin left me with another impression: his sincerity and ability to do what he sets out to do, which is to repair. What can be cooler than a man who delivers his promise by doing what he likes and is good at? I spoke to Austin and found his business philosophy reasonable and truthful: doing what he likes, helping people, figuring out the cause of problem, getting things fixed without having to resort to replacement ( a favorite recommendation from big companies...). Behind this work ethic and principle is another guideline that directs his work: trust from his customers. I like that! O, by the way, there is another reason that urged me to write this review for Austin. He told me he started this company over a year ago, and I see in him what I had to go through back in 2004, when I started having my own tutoring center. I understand how a small business like his lives on word of mouth among customers, as it was with my own company. I also understand how negative comments tend to travel ten times faster than good, appreciative feedback. I think it is fair and natural that I share my thoughts with those who may be viewing his website for selection. One more thing: I live locally, and I love supporting local small business! What really stood out to me was that they actually had the screen in stock, every other place I called had to order it and told me it would take a couple of days, plus they were quoting me $20-$40 more. The moment I walked in, I noticed how warm and welcoming everything felt. I even complimented the owner because it's so different from the typical plain, white-wall repair shops. It felt chic, cozy, and thoughtfully put together. Love how he immediately gave the credit to his wife, you can tell he is extremely proud of her work and rightfully so because I would hire her to make my business look as cute as The Device Lab. Great service, great pricing, and a beautiful space. highly recommend! Thank you again, I know my Daughter needs an upgrade but the IPhone 11 will do for now.
