Went on a Monday evening for my mother-in-laws belated birthday. She was craving fish and chips. We loved the atmosphere on the deck and everyone there was super nice! Unfortunately our food was just sub-par. I had the seafood pie which tasted good but was super buttery. Her fish and chips were dry with french fries you can buy frozen at wal-mart for your kids. My husband has the shrimp and scallop alfredo with penne. The sauce was good but nothing to rave about. Sorry Point Breeze, maybe we'll have to try again some other time. read more

The food, and view are great. Service is OK, the wait staff all seemed very stressed out. We had an early dinner at 4:30p and it was not busy and it seemed very disorganized. I would not want to see what it was like it if it was actually busy. They were all bickering about each other, and didn't try to prevent tables from hearing them. We went to Point Breeze yesterday on the bike hoping to enjoy a nice seafood dinner. To say were were disappointed is an understatement. It took over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order only for the bartender to come back 5 minutes later saying they couldn't make the drink I ordered. I asked to see a drink menu and he said they did not have one nor did he offer any suggestions. Yes, he was busy but no personality at all. Everyone was running around (about 4 different people behind the bar) yet nothing was happening. Very disorganized and extremely poor service. We left and enjoyed a wonderful meal elsewhere. We arrived on a Sunday and were seated outside on the deck. After being seated we waited a full 15 minutes and still no one came over to take even so much as a drink order from us. And it is worth noting that the restaurant was not even anywhere near busy or at capacity (perhaps it was 30% full?), although quite frankly this is ridiculous even if it were busier. I went to tell the hostess nicely, thinking perhaps there was some sort of miscommunication and that the assigned wait staff was not told we were seated, (Although given the fact that there were others seated around us, I find that hard to believe actually) She assured me someone would be right over... Another full 10 minutes went by with no assistance, and then the other person in my party went to tell someone - once again we were told someone would be over. No one came. We left, without so much as as sip of water. Upon politely informing the hostess of our experience as we were leaving it was plainly evident that she could not have cared less. I even called the restaurant from the parking lot as I wanted to make a manger aware of this and all I got on the other end was the Point Breeze voice mail I know Point Breeze has a pretty decent reputation, and they are lucky to be located right on the lake which can help even bad or slow service become more bearable. But a pretty lake waterview does nothing to alleviate NO service. Perhaps it was bad day for the establishment Maybe management took the day off so the front line help wasn't being tended too and was allowed to screw things up. I really am not sure, but my visit must have been an anomaly. At least I hope it is, for Point Breeze's sake, because if this is how things will be run now on an even close to daily basis, they will not survive. read more

My main reason for going was because I love steamers which are on the menu I had reservations for 6:15 o'clock I was seated right away NO Steamers first bummer my New England clam chowder was watery with more of a bacon taste than clams I never not eat clam chowder but I couldn't get this down. Decent seafood menu, really nice entertainment on weekends. Outdoor deck has good view of the lake as does a fair portion of the dining room. Sometimes the service is awful, badly disorganized management comes and goes. We actually sat there for 20 minutes waiting for a table and the restaurant was half empty. Nice place that doesn't utilize its location or view. We tried another place in the area on a beautiful summer day for a drink and appetizer by the water. The first place we stopped had a fantastic waterfront spot but was a dump so we tried here. This place is clean and nicely appointed with good food and service but far under utilizes its waterfront location. The bar area is a nice siZe with a lot of seating at the bar and tables around the bar which is nice but you have not one view of the water and if you go outside on the deck it is like you aren't even eating at the same place, you feel separated and out of view from the staff like you are home eating on your deck. A small outside bar on the deck and view of the water from inside would do wonders for this place, otherwise we could have just gone to a bar in the city and felt the same. read more

Went to Point Breeze on a Sunday afternoon at ui about 2:30 in the afternoon. Not a peak time for a restaurant. Went into the restaurant and there was a line at the host booth with no host in sight. After waiting about 10 min the hostess comes out and has no clue what she was doing. We asked to put our name on the list for the outside and sat at the bar. A few minutes later a table for 2 became available outside. Fine. Waited about 10 to 15 minutes for our waitress to come over. Ordered an app, steamed mussels. They were good. Ordered our meals. Meals took a long time to come out then after we get our meals our waitress disappears. Doesn't ask us if we need anything else, doesn't check on us to see how our meals are. Finished our meals. We had to ask another server for our check. That server then told us that our waitress went on break?? Really. Left the restaurant at about 4:30. Hopefully next time there will be better service. I was excited to go here today. I thought it would be nice to sit outside near the water and we were celebrating a special occasion. We had gotten there at 1. The server came over and took our drink order for those of us who were there. When the rest of the party came, she came back over, and dropped off our drinks and took their drink order. We placed some apps at that time. It took her about 15 minutes to come back over with the rest of the drinks, and then once she dropped them off she disappeared. At around 1:50 one of our appetizers came out and our server was nowhere to be found. At 2 i finally asked someone I saw on the patio to grab our waitress so we could order. It was frustrating that it took almost an hour just to put our lunch orders in. And not to mention, it was so hot out today we were trying to be in and out because of the weather. The rest of our apps finally arrived and the steamers and calamari were delicious. I had ordered the chicken fried chicken which was good, but the french fries were terrible. For $2600 you get: A "drink station" that consists of 4 standard size pitchers for 105 people that the 2 wait staff are supposed to refill every 5 minutes. Guests went without, I should have gone down to Price Chopper and bought beverages. 2 wait staff cant keep up because they are not only taking care of my party but also the regatta party across the hall with 60 additional people. Do the math 2 wait staff for 165 people? 5 dinner rolls with 5 pats of butter for 8 at a table. I guess AJ thinks he's saving a bundle by shorting 3 guests at a table of their dinner rolls. When you ask for more so everyone at the table can have some they promise they will be back but are so overworked servicing the other party that they cant make it. Food ran out midway thru buffet line so some of my guests went without. They forgot to serve apple crisp dessert, how do you forget dessert? AJ doesn't believe in answering emails or honoring appointments to meet with him prior to this event. He obviously doesn't believe in repeat business because he has no intentions of satisfying his customer preferring to rely on the location of Webster Lake to cover over his substandard service. No worries though as he makes "more than enough money" off of the drunks in Webster at the bar. At 3:30p I walked in to set up for my 5p event and they had the doors masked off to paint them. Did they really think the paint would be dry? Maybe thinking costs extra! Dinner was scheduled at 5:30p however salads didn't start until 6:45p and buffet started 2 hrs later at 7:30p. Guests couldn't tolerate the wait so I guess the fact they forgot to serve apple crisp dessert was no big deal. Maybe that was the plan all along, make dinner drag out so long that the guests leave before dessert. So for $2600 you get not enough food, not enough service, not enough staff, and WIFI that only works in the bar. WHAT A BARGAIN!!!! Webster lake is pretty but not pretty enough to overlook this clown and his act. If you want to be embarrassed then have your event held here. read more

We hosted our daughters wedding here in August 2015. It was lovely. We met several months before the event and made preliminary plans. AJ had the perfect temperament. He made some great suggestions. I've been here several times in that's year. The food is mediocre and a bit on the expensive side for what you get. An older crowd in the dinning room is to be expected. Point breeze was my favorite restaurant for seafood. Haven't been here for over five years since I moved to Florida. I'm visiting friends this week in Connecticut and chose point breeze for dinner. I chose the lobster, steamers, manhattan chowder and fritters(not what clam cakes should be called) dinner. The chowder(in a cup) was good but not really accurate, ie very small pieces of clam, potato and some other fillers that shouldn't be in it. Fritters were over cooked, chewy at best, very dry and nearly inedible. Fries were on the plate, although good, shouldn't replace a baked potato. Tacky. Lobster was 1 1/2 lbs and delicious but a little tough. I would suggest 1 1/4 pounder. Atmosphere was very loud, very cold, missing salt and pepper and other items on the table(we had to ask the server many times for something). Because of the a/c the food gets cold fast, so eat fast. read more

We chose this place for our wedding venue from The Wedding Spot app(we currently live in CA, but I wanted to have our wedding back east where I'm from originally). Everything about it looked amazing, the view, the food options, the price! I contacted them and spoke to Gail and AJ and they were both very pleasant and informative, totally putting us at ease that we finally found our place! We made a trip in January to check out the venue and do a walk through where we could sample some of their delicious food options and get all our questions answered about what to expect and what would be needed of us. We weren't disappointed at all about our choice, the food was amazing, the view was breathtaking, the venue was clean, staff was pleasant and efficient. AJ (who is the manager/owner) was simply all we could have asked for in a wedding event coordinator! We met with him the Monday before our wedding (Saturday) to go over seating arrangements/food choices/bar options and all final touches that go into wedding planning. We weren't sure what we would have to do to set up for the day, but they took care of it all! We just had to show up and say "I DO". All of our guests LOVED everything about this place, the scenery, the food, the DJ(Shane O Mac), the staff and of course, the bar! We had our reception in the Pinnacle room, overlooking the lake, and had our very own bar, which was amazingly staffed and all the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and attentive to all our needs. First off, the plus, and it was a big plus - the view was great and we were seated at the best table looking out over the water. Oysters were top notch too. Fresh PEI oysters served promptly and properly. The tap beer selection was also very good. But that's were we should have ended the dinner. All four entrees were well below what we expected for the cost and from a seafood place that knows how to serve a proper oyster. My salmon was dry on the inside and burned on the bottom and did not have much flavor. They must have been out of the ginger and soy used in the glaze like they were a few of the menu items our party tried to order. I can't speak for the other three, but I know they were not happy and wanted to go someplace else for desert, which we did, partly because of the two loud drunk ladies seated next to us half way through our dinner, which really wasn't the fault of Point Breeze. The service was also very slow even given that we were happy to relax on the deck. I would go back however, but only for the oysters. 0 for 4 on the entrees was a big enough sample size for me. read more

I have been here multiple times. Last night was the worst. The view is awesome. The service is slow because the owner never staffs it properly. The food, when it does come is very good. But last night i was there for the band Boom Box. We had reservations for 7:30pm. We didn't get seated until 8pm. Then they had to bring an extra table and chairs. Staff did their best to accomadate us. After that all downhill. They took in as many people as they could accommodate and more. Our table was boxed in. There was I'm sure, more than capacity. At least 300-400 people in there between the bar and the restuarant. We couldn't see the band. The dance floor was a mosh pit.. you could hardly move. Looking around if a fire started i couldn't get out unless i broke a window. It was not safe. I believe if i called the Fire Marshal at least 150 people could've been asked to leave. $10 cover. All the time a bands is there that I've seen for free in other places. It took at least 30-45 minutes to get my check. I didn't have a good time, couldn't dance and couldn't hear the people sitting across from me. I love the band but will never go back to see them there. People made their dance floor by the tables they were sitting at. Waste of my time and money. Unsafe. I hope the owner was happy with his $10 a head cover. When they have to get tables off the deck you know they over booked the capacity. My safety versus owners cover charge. read more

There were 9 other patrons in the restaurant tonight, 2 other servers and yet there were very prolonged periods of our server missing. Went to dinner last night with a 2 year old, we got there at 530 and ordered a app took i hour to receive it, ordered are meal at 630 took till 745 to get are meal service was awful way understaffed. My family went the night before and they said the same thing of course they didn't warn me of this. Went to dinner at 530 never got done till 815 we ended up running into a man outside with his dog, who happens to live up the road and said he will no longer eat there because of the service. To the management! My family took me there for Fathers Day. We only received one menu for 5 people and then we waited there for 15- min before being asked if we needed drinks. Then we waited for another 15 min before they came. The waitress we could tell was over whelmed ! Finally we got to order ... And then we waited and waited, we had to ask another waitress for bread.... When we received our food it was cold .... But the absolute worse thing that happen was they told another customer they could tie the American Flag on the deck in a knot . That was the most disrespectful thing I've seen . Wow, First time here. Brought wife and family to celebrate her birthday. Waited 10 minutes for a table when the place was empty except for one other party of 2. Overheard hostess bickering about my 22 yr old daughter who was simply looking around. Shame on this place! These old bats do not welcome outsiders. If you are not a local and don't have blue hair you will be treated poorly. We left within minutes of being seated because of the bad attitude from the hostess, and on the way out some drunk walking in tried to cause trouble. A drunk on Tuesday? Bad vibe, bad place. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else where you will be respected as a customer. Time for these miserable folks to hang it up and retire.
