The pickles were standard and the sauce was a bit sweet but ok. The wings were good but they charge for sauce which is disappointing but at least they were tasty. That's where the good review ends. Next up broccoli cheese soup. It was thin and curdled. Completely flavorless. Please don't bother I got a black and blue burger. It had dried apples and gorganzola. I asked for mid-well and this thing came out a black hockey puck. Totally in edible. The apple is breaded and fried and then a blue cheese sauce is on top which makes it completely soggy. Terrible. Husband got Cajun shrimp which was in a weird tomato sauce. The okra was so bad he spat it out. It could not even be chewed. Everything needed salt. Pass Diner 3 ordered a chicken sandwich with Nashville hot sauce. It tasted so bad he couldn't eat it. It also had cheese that was burnt under the grill. The fries were terrible. Maybe the grease needed to be changed? No thanks Diner 4 got the mushroom Swiss burger. The photo attached was his bun. He ordered it medium rare it was medium at best and was both dry and dripping with grease which is quite the feat. He choked down half but couldn't go on. Moving along The service was good but she definitely needed help. She was handling the bar and dining room herself so some things took a little time but she was kind and attentive. Having worked in restaurants my whole life I would have to say this place has potential but the cook defiantly needs some training on seasoning and attentiveness. The menu needs to be streamlined too. I would not go back and wouldn't tell anyone I knew to go. We've been home a couple hours and 3 out of 4 of us have stomachaches. There are better places.

Firebrand's did and it was perfectly plump and crisp even from 8 miles away. The wings were large and juicy. Chowder was almost as good as my homemade ;-) Husband says his sliders were, quote, bomb, diggy, bomb bomb. End quote. Best and most unique menu I've seen for delivery. Do it. Thank me later. Tip well.

This casual Mexican restaurant & bar offers full service dining with table seating along the walls and seating at the long full service bar with TVs. The bar offers 6 draft beers, bottle/can beers, wine, cocktails, tequila, mixed drinks, margaritas, and martinis. The food offerings include tacos, street tacos, burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas, quesadillas, flautas, tortas, nachos, appetizers, ribeye steak, seafood, chicken dishes and dessert. The prices seem fair. I stopped by Casa Laura for dinner recently. I took a seat up at the bar and was given a laminated menu to look at and a complementary basket of chips and tangy tomato sauce dip and an ice water. I decided on the Chimichanga ($14 plus tax) with rice & beans, which came out in 7 minutes after ordering. I was also given more chips. The portion of food was good. The fried chimichanga was filled with shredded chicken & onions topped with queso with soft Mexican rice and soft refried beans topped with cheese. After I finished my food, I was given the check which was $14.88 with tax and before tip. Overall, a fairly good meal and prompt service. I was good to go for the easy drive to the CT casinos for the evening.

On this cool spring visit, we sat inside at a corner table with a nice view of the lake. We ordered: Happy Hour Chicken Tacos ($8) Happy Hour Fish Tacos ($8) Fish & Chips Dinner ($21) Merlot ($9) Cabernet ($11) The tacos are normally $16 for three on the dinner menu, so getting four for that price during Happy Hour is a good deal. Results were mixed. Starting with the positive: the Fish Tacos were excellent. The haddock was perfectly cooked--crispy and flavorful--served in grilled flour tortillas with shredded iceberg lettuce, creamy slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle lime aioli. Really well done! The Chicken Tacos, on the other hand, were disappointing. The chipotle-braised chicken, along with the toppings, made them feel dense and soggy. Not something I would order again. The Fish & Chips was the biggest letdown. The fried haddock was thin and dry, and the fries were limp and not hot enough. The coleslaw was very good, though. Honestly, if they used the same haddock from the fish tacos here, it would be a big upgrade. Service was good overall, though the dinners took a while to arrive. Bottom line: 3 stars. Still the best restaurant option on the lake, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

They came over to the table and kicked me out before 6 for taking up a table for too long. There were plenty of empty tables. I had been there about 1.5 hours. I'll go spend my money somewhere else from now on if this is how the staff acts. This restaurant is ridiculous and the staff are morons. You should be grateful I was filling a table during off hours and spending money at your business. Then when I leave, they're all "thank you, goodnight!". Never coming back. Stupid move - I have family in this town who are going to boycott you too. Learn how to run a restaurant. Rule #1: never make someone willing to spend money feel unwelcome.

It is on my 'super secret' time-saving route to get to NYC from Boston, so I'd always stop in for a lunch to break up the trip. The chicken fingers here are unbelievably laughable. A tiny little chunk of rubbery chicken and mostly batter. They are always dry and crunchy ... not plump and juicy the way other places are. Given the fact that anything you order comes out of the kitchen within 3 minutes, there is no way this stuff isn't sitting under a heat lamp. They used to be famous for their crab rangoons. They were the best I'd ever had. Post-pandemic, they must have changed their supplier because now they are junk. It tastes like someone took a frozen box of Trader Joe's appetizers and put them in a toaster oven. In fairness, I have not had a good crab rangoon anywhere since the pandemic ... but they are exceptionally dry and skimpy filling here. The fried rice is saturated in oil and has no taste other than starch. The little pieces of pork are rubbery and hard and there are no scrambled egg pieces to be found. BBQ beef sticks are like eating a strip of brown rubber dipped in sugar. My guess is that the bar crowd ... and this is quite a grizzled squad, which permanently smells like Marlboro Reds ... is so pickled from the Mai Tais (which are made with 151 proof rum and smell like something a pit crew would funnel into a drag racer) they don't care much for the taste of the food. They are there to drink. The actual inside of the restaurant isn't terrible ... it feels more like a sports bar than a Chinese Food restaurant. However, if you sit at the bar and just drink, the owners will tell you to leave because you have to order food to go with the drinks. This used to be a fantastic place with cheap lunch specials, plentiful portions and fairly good East Coast American Chinese food. Now, it's overprice ... underportioned ... and it tastes like frozen, reheated food. The fact that they charge people for using a credit card is crazy ... and not like a little ... it's like $3 on a $20 order to use a card. You'd have a lower transaction fee at a casino ATM. This place is just a huge avoid now.
