I've been going to 5 guys restaurants for about 15 years when I first experienced them in Myrtle Beach. But, I guess some just aren't good... We came today and we both ordered burgers and a large fry to share. It took 17 minutes to get our order (and the place was dead), we got our order and the burgers were COLD and dry AF. Now I could have brought them back up, but I was tired AF after working all day and I just wanted to get home to relax. Now, Burger King and Wendy's are both about a mile from our house and McDonald's about one and a half miles but we drove 8.5 miles to get a really good burger. I never have had such a bad burger from 5 Guys ( and not even so bad from McDonald's!) and I'll never return to this location. Even the bread seemed old and the bacon was burnt.

Couldn't believe I found this gem. Didn't realize it was a chain. I've always had a perfect dining experience since the first time. Until today. The fries were cooked to perfection per usual. The new paper container was much smaller. I get it. That's the way corporations save money. Smaller portions jack up prices. They are on the higher end of the fast food chains in the first place. The burger was dry and crumbly. Something I've never experienced in the past. The strange part was as I ate the burger. The bun was wet. It broke the bottom bun. I couldn't pick it up anymore. Tried but, the dry broken up burger and toppings fell apart in my hands. One thing I noticed was the cook on the grill was "smashing" the patties on the grill. WHY!?!?! Could this be the culprit of a bad burger quality? If this is the new way they are cooking the meat. I'm not going anymore. I'll order a large fry and make my own burgers on the grill at home.
