This breakfast opened my mind to the secrets of the world. This became one of the 8 wonders of the world after I came here with my news crew. When I cut into the warm pancakes the chocolate was warm and gooey inside. Although I feel that 20+ years were taken off my life after eating, it was definitely worth it. I stole some of my moms potatoes and I think I'll never have any taste after tasting the best potatoes in the world. I wish I lived in Montana so I could try everything on the menu. Quaint little breakfast cafe, that serves excellent breakfast! Had the Cajun scramble and it was delicious. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have a contactless system to pay that involves scanning a bar code with your phone and paying online, wish more restaurants did this. Our party of four arrived just before the morning rush and we're greeted and seated immediately. Our server was obviously experienced and took great care of us. Egg Benedict's for the ladies were perfect. Biscuit and gravy and short stack for the guys were very good and coffee for all was fresh and ample. My only complaint was the $2 charge for a short 2 ounce plastic ramican of real maple syrup. The portion was barely enough for one cake. I'm a fan! Got me with the biscuits and gravy off the bat they are a home run! The basic breakfast and the thick cut bacon was amazing! I loved it and was so full! Coffee is great and they will fix anything on the spot if there's an issue. The pancakes are superb and the burgers are pretty damn big! Bring your appetite and prepared to be stuffed! This was the 4th annual trip for my daughter and I. We love the festive hot chocolate at Pocketstone. This year we shared the purple dragon burger with the veggie burger option. I would not have remembered it was a veggie burger and actually thought there was a mix up but the surface of the burger was confirmation that it was indeed. Very nice and spicey but not overly so. I've heard a lot about this place but had never been. Finally tried it on a pre-peak season day and wasn't really impressed. Service was okay. The burgers were underseasoned or plain unseasoned. A little salt goes a long way. No amount of jalapeño or cheese could fix it. Or purple sauce or anything. The fries were good. The size and portion was good and the idea was good but just lacked any pizzazz and dude a little mrs dash or something. Jeez. The burgers don't come with veggie fixings like lettuce, onion or tomato, which can be standard for a gourmet burger, but this one needed it. And I had to pile on the ketchup to try to season the burger, and I'm not using a ketchup fan. Overall, pretty underwhelmed. But a good people watching spot on the deck in downtown Bigfork. read more

A waitress from another breakfast restaurant recommended this place, and it turned out to be just around the corner from where we were staying in BIGFORK, MT. Bigfork is NOT BIG, so we were lucky to get the tip to eat here. It is located in a really cool downtown shopping area (mainly galleries and bars), so you have a chance to walk off your large breakfast. The menu has a great selection of healthy options as well as the not so healthy, which were delicious! Give them a try if you're ever in the area! read more

Not even average. We have a favorite cafe' on MT Hwy 83, in Bigfork, but decided to spread our business and try Pocketstone. Mistake. I ordered blueberry pancakes, but they came with no blueberries. My husband ordered a burger, that was meager at best and looked more like a SMALL fast food product than a gourmet burger. He got possibly 15-20 fries and the plate looked VERY empty! The sauces and syrup were in plastic containers on the side and the presentation just looked tacky. Our waitress was not friendly and evidently didn't listen to our order since it came out wrong. We had to ask for coffee refills and cream. There were about 4 other occupied tables, and other servers, and we did not come during a busy time of day. We paid the bill on the waitresses handheld device, which I just hate, while she was staring at us, which made me uncomfortable when adding the tip in. We're locals and won't go back. it just didn't live up to my standards for the price - pretty expensive for what you get. There are other good options near by. read more

We were last here about four years ago and did not have a good experience. With the passage of Labor Day, our choices diminish. We decided to give this place another try; I am glad we did. It always helps there is a table available when you arrive. We were greeted promptly and sat at a satisfactory table. Our server came quickly and we each had a glass of water essentially immediately. We each ordered a sandwich, which was prepared in a reasonable period of time. My BLT was excellent. Of course, I ordered avocado with the sandwich. It was soft and just ready to eat. I substituted marbled rye for the bread. Did I say this was an excellent sandwich? The bacon was not quite crisp, just the way I like it. Nothing worse that dried bacon on a sandwich. The lettuce was crisp. The tomato had flavor. After all, it is tomato season right now. Rebecca ordered the turkey club. It was also excellent, although very wide. It stretched the jaw to eat. Her soup was warm and flavorful. My slaw had flavor without too much vinegar. All in all, I am glad we returned. It helped we were after Labor Day and the crowds are smaller. I some some very tasty food, but the service was rather lackluster. They were mildly busy on the day I came, but you would have thought they were slammed. Every step of the breakfast process took too long . . . getting a menu, getting water, getting coffee, ordering, getting a refill, waiting, getting the bill, paying the bill, etc. I am not sure if they are understaffed, but they sure gave that impression. As for the food itself, it was rather good. My omelet was a tad overdone (brown on the outside), but the flavors and fillings were solid. The local preserves were excellent on my toast. The manager was finally notified after the waitress gave me the wrong check from another table. Seriously...... I had to ask for the manager. So she gave 25% discount.
