Stopped in here for lunch. They have a lot of options on the menu. I went with the #2 which is a Po boy roast beef sandwich. It was excellent! I got my good to go and it was ready in a flash. It was a little pricey in my opinion but it was very good. Staff was cordial and got the job done quickly. The interior space is small but they do have some seating options for those who would like to stick around.

Here's how you can spend $15 at this "restaurant" (see picture) terrible size for the absurd price! Might as well call them rich boy express.

The catfish was fresh and crispy (cornbread), the bread was soft on the inside and had the perfect crunch on the outside. Simple topping let the gloves shine. Get the fried okra, the special season really added a nice pop. I'll be back for sure.

The best food I've had in my trip to Baton Rouge! I loved their fried Okra, fried mushrooms, and stuffed jalapeños! I got the shrimp philly cheese.. and it was so good. Bread is fresh and soft.. shrimps was very tasteful! I would totally recommend that you make a stop here if you're around. Staff is super nice and fast!

By Friday mornings, I am usually too spent to remember to bring lunch to work with me. This means I usually look for inexpensive, quick, and tasty options when I am out and about. A few months ago, my husband and I stopped at a different Poboy Express for lunch and the oyster poboy was absolutely delicious. The oysters were juicy, well-seasoned, and dressed with shredded letttuce and the rest of the works. A regular oyster poyboy meal here is only $14 which I think is fairly reasonable. The oyster poyboy I got at this location is just as good. I got it to go thinking I couldn't possibly eat the whole thing. Boy, was that a joke! I wasn't able to eat most of the fries, but the poboy got wiped out pretty quickly. My complaints about the location include the lack of cleanliness and the outdated decor. For this reason, my rating is more of a 3.5 than 4, but I rounded up to be nice. After all, the service was pretty good too -- a rare occurence in the fastfood industry.

They have been featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In's, and Dives" and have the pictures with Guy Fieri prominently displayed to prove it. The interior is eclectic, which is comforting. While BBQ is the main emphasis here, there are a number of other things on the menu. One of these that's really popular is the seafood stuffed potatoes. These are gigantic baked potatoes that come with shrimp or catfish, with our without crawfish étouffée. Seafood is a definite option here, and one can have it on Friday or any other day. But let's discuss the BBQ. They have smoked turkey that's never dry, and this is great in a sandwich or plate. The smoked wings are another favorite of mine. Then there is the smoked meatloaf, which is great in po-boy form. The ribs and brisket are also very worthy options. I think a two meat plate is a good way to enjoy the BBQ as it allows variety in tasting! Then one has to be pleased by the wide selection of sides. Variety is always great, especially when it includes uncommonly great options like fried green beans, red beans and rice, and Cajun Dirty Rice. One can always get coleslaw and beans if you are a fan of the classics. They even have desserts, if one has any room left for them. I rarely do...

The crawfish were flavorful, seasoned well, and priced right, which is honestly the perfect combination when you're sitting down ready to eat. They had that messy, not really spicy, addictive quality that keeps you reaching for "just one more" until the tray is empty. I also tried the buffalo wings. They weren't that great, if I'm being honest, but I was hungry so they got the job done. The crawfish are clearly the star of the show here anyway. The atmosphere felt relaxed and unpretentious, exactly the kind of place you want for seafood with friends, cold drinks, and a table full of shells piling up by the minute.
