I was excited to try this place since it's right next to the bathhouse, but unfortunately, my experience wasn't a good one. When I walked in, I took some time looking over the menu because it was my first visit. I asked the employee behind the counter for recommendations and what she thought of the fish and chicken options. She told me she didn't know because she doesn't eat there. I understand that employees don't have to try every item, but I was hoping for at least some guidance about the most popular dishes or customer favorites. Instead, I felt like I was on my own, and the customer service came across as uninterested and unhelpful. The sandwich itself had potential. The plant-based "meat" tasted good, but it was overloaded with sauce and toppings. The bun was so soggy that it broke apart from the top, making the sandwich messy and difficult to eat. It felt like it had been thrown together without much care. Overall, the food could have been enjoyable with better preparation, but the combination of disappointing customer service and a poorly assembled sandwich made this a letdown. They're just not great burgers. No umami, no char, no flavor at all. The buns got soggy while we were eating them, such that the last third of the burger was falling apart. And they're not that big to start with! When I can make a cast iron Impossible burger at home that tastes better, this restaurant has a long way to go. I came here for a quick dinner with my friend who's vegetarian. It was my first time visiting, but PLNT Burger has been on my radar for a few years now. I was impressed by the menu--there's a diverse range of proteins, including mock beef, fish, and chick'n. Not all vegan burger spots offer fish sandwiches, so it was a nice touch to see a fish fillet option. I do wish they had more veggie-based sides beyond just fries and chili. I think they once offered green beans, but those weren't available at this location. This spot is located on a closed pedestrian street, so there's both indoor and outdoor seating. You can order at the counter or use one of the self-serve kiosks. The cashier was really helpful when I asked which sandwiches she recommended. I ended up with the crispy chick'n sandwich, while my friend went for the BIG burger. The chick'n sandwich is made with Tindle meat--my first time trying it, and I'm hooked. The "chicken" was super crunchy, well-seasoned, and honestly one of the best mock chicken options I've ever had--very close to real meat. I'm curious how much of that flavor comes from the Tindle itself versus PLNT's seasoning, so now I want to try Tindle on its own. The sandwich was smaller than I expected based on the menu photos, but it was still filling. It came with pickles and herb mayo on a potato bun, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend liked his burger too. He thought the patty tasted similar to Beyond, but apparently PLNT makes their own proprietary patties (which is funny since their founder is also a Beyond co-founder). I know they used to have more NYC locations--I remember spots in Midtown East and Union Square--so it's a bummer they've scaled down. Still, I think their menu is great, and I'd definitely come back to try more. For around the same price as McDonald's or Wendy's, you're getting higher-quality vegan fast food that actually tastes good. Best vegan burgers in NYC hands down. Great for late nights as they are open until 11pm on Broadway, close to local train stations in the Flatiron district. The night staff are super friendly and generous. Shout out to the manager who remembers his regulars! I had the cheeseburger with fries. The burger itself is not that big and is similar to a Wendy's burger. The patty is especially thin. It was a burnt piece of what appeared to be mushrooms. The taste was not bad aside from its small size and the burnt taste. They also offer "chicken" sandwiches. The burgers range in price from $9 to $15. The fries are excellent though. They offer herb fries or sweet potato fries. The fries are similar in crispiness and starchy texture to Burger King's fries, except they are much bigger and wider, and closer to the size of wedge fries. They give you a lot of fries too and this is what ends up filling you up if you get a combo meal. Ordering is easy. There is even a self service kiosk. Service here was really slow though. The place was almost empty and there was no one on line. It still took over 10 minutes just to make one burger with fries. The hibiscus tea was bottled, which was nice because I could have it in my purse for the Broadway show I saw later that night. The cheeseburger tastes like a traditional burger - texture included.
