    Various drinks for sale

I went to Pleasanton Golf Center today for my first round of nine ever. I saw that there was a deal for a round of nine for $10 a person so I booked it online immediately. Our tee time was 1:45 but we got there about 20 minutes early and the guy at the counter said we could start right away. The facility is great for beginners. Lots of par threes and fours. Other players were very chill and not in a rush. It's a great environment to learn in if you're just starting out. The pro shop has some packaged snacks and bottled drinks for sale, but I didn't see a full restaurant or bar. That's ok, though. For the value, you can't really beat it. Next time we come, we might also hit a bucket of balls. Only $4 for a small bucket and $6 for a large bucket.

There is a hut on the right side of the parking lot where the golf camp instructors are located. Check-in ur child here.

First time we tried out First Tee golf camp for my teen. To my surprise he LOVES this camp. Thanks to Cameron and Jill for being great instructors here that made things so fun for him. My son is a total beginner and he is eager to come back and learn everyday. Will be signing him up for a few more weeks for lessons again soon. Highly recommend ur kids coming here for some fun golf lessons. Their camp consist of all ages. I was afraid my son was too old but he wasn't. So for those who needed to know that, please keep this in mind. They separate the older and younger kids if its a big group to practice and learn. They do games everyday to keep it fun. Lots of golf counselors (volunteers) here to help the students with questions and forms.

Golf is all about following rules, isn't it?!

I started going to this golf course after my in-laws gave my brother-in-law and I a gift card for the driving range. One can get over a hundred balls for ten bucks, so we've been getting a lot of practice in on the excellent driving range and the well maintained (though sometimes overwatered) putting and chipping greens. This week, my brother-in-law and I decided it was time to play a round, so we booked a 6 pm Friday tee-time and headed to the course. The course is on the other side of the Alameda County fairgrounds from where the driving range is situated, and one must go under a tunnel to get to it! That's right - a tunnel - because this is a tiny zig-zaggy nine-hole course crammed on the inside oval of the horse-racing track! And the tunnel takes you under the track to the parking lot and "club house". This course reminded me more of a large put-put golf course somewhere out in the boonies than a serious "grown-up" course in the Bay Area. But that's probably why I enjoyed playing it! Because as a beginner, it took a lot of the pressure off me. --- Hit the ball out of bounds onto the racetrack? No problem! Just retrieve it and take a drop, but please don't get run over by any practicing fillies! --- Scored double digits on three consecutive holes? No problem! No one is behind you anyway because they've all played through, so you're not holding anyone up! --- A flock of geese between you and the green? No problem! You're unlikely to hit them anyway, given how much you've been slicing and hooking your drives! The only downside of our evening golf adventure was that we ran out of sunlight before we ran out of holes. Still, we played 7 of the 9 holes, and I got progressively better as the evening wore on. And we had a wonderful time. Which is what golf is all about, isn't it?

I bought a four lesson package. My instructor was Larry O' Leary. Everyone in Northern California golf knows Larry. You can't say he isn't experienced, he's given over 30,000 lessons. No matter if you are just a beginner or a low handicapper, Larry gives easy to understand instruction. Larry gave me some simple drills and swing thoughts to help me with my swing. I'll definitely will be back for more lessons. Nothing fancy about the driving range, chipping green or putting green. For the driving range, you have the option of hitting off grass or an artificial mat. Plenty of room around the chipping green to work on various distances. Putting green is smooth and pretty flat. If you want to work on your short game, you can play at their 9 hole course inside the horse race track a mile east of the golf center. A great course for kids or beginners.

Been coming here since the late 90s. Took Lessons from Larry Oleary which changed my HDCP tremendously. I am not around a 8 HDCP. Range is nice but wished it had more mounds in 25yrd intervals. Balls aren't beat up like some ranges I have been too and it is a quiet place to generally practice. The putting area is awesome. You actually have to read it versus just hitting it straight. It is my primary practice facility.

These little motivational plaques on each hole are a nice touch

What's the cancellation policy for prepaid rounds?

Is the website down for online tee time reservations?

Hey James! Sorry for the delayed reply, our online tee time booking engine should be working. Please feel free to call the pro shop if you continue to have a problem!

Do you really have to go through that tunnel? Can't they put a sensor with red light on to stop people crossing each other ? It is super noisy and not effective.

Yep it looks like there is only one way through into this place. Just need to be patient and wait for the light to go green before u proceed into the tunnel

The price felt really reasonable ($75 in 2025) especially since no one was stressing about cooking and clean up etc. We had a pretty large group that included my family, in laws, etc. so the convenience was really appreciated. The food was good too. It was served buffet style and they had seafood, salad, plenty of sides, and some carving stations... oh and a dessert area. There were also beverages to purchase. I got there a little early and got a nice pour of bourbon before the rest of my family got there. There was also a professional photographer on the premises to get pictures from the holiday. Definitely a great option to spend this holiday for sure! Parking was very easy - as they have lots of accessible lots and I think the rest of the club was closed that day.

But don't think they are affliliated as the signages seems pretty separate. Balls dispensed through a machine that can take cards. Slightly better value than in my area, where I can get about 10 extra balls for the same price of $11 for a medium bucket. My area gives me 50 balls, here I got 60. They have both grass and mats here, which caught me by surprise as I haven't seen a grass range in over 10 years. They are just much more maintenance for a place to have, and my area for sure no longer have them. So I applaud them for having them here. But on an early weekend morning, that grass area was completely full, with people in line even for the stalls. There were only 10-12 stalls, so I'm pretty sure that the demand exceeds the space. The matted area was another 30-40 yards away. You're hitting into an open field facing the freeway. There are many palm trees out there so I did find targets to go for. Except there's no yardage postings, so I was going by feel. The whole point in going to a driving range is so you can work on your yardages, so I dock and reward ranges that may or may not give you this benefit. There's a small chipping area that also gets occupied readily. I may have to check this place out on a weekday mid-day sometime. The putting green was just okay, decent to work out some basics, but nothing like a course you'd play on. I had a decent practice session here, except in the summer morning I went, the matted area was very wet, probably they hose it down to clean it, which is fine. But my matt was pretty saturated so not sure on how it affected my contacts. Also when I left and got home, and because I was wearing shorts, I had several insect bites around my ankles and calf areas, on both legs. I'm assuming mosquitos because everything was so moist and wet, but left me itching and scratching for several days to follow. I hardly ever get bites even during camping, so to get them from a driving range, makes me weary on returning.

This was my second set of lessons with Marcus. Unfortunately, after only one lesson of the ten I just purchased, I got a call from the Regional Manager telling me Marcus no longer worked for the company. I could only guess he got fired because I just had a lesson with Marcus that very morning and he never said anything. I also had other lessons booked with him in the future. I asked the Regional Manager about a refund and he said that I could get a refund since it was within the 30 day window of purchasing the 10 lesson package. When I was told what my refund would be, in was far less than I expected, since I only took 1 lesson. They said the way they worked their refunds was based on time, not number of lessons. Which is absurd to me. So, if after 29 days, I had not taken any lessons, I would not be refunded all of my initial payment. On the flipside, if I had taken 9 lessons in those 29 days, I would have been refunded the same amount as if I had taken zero lessons. I brought this scenario up to both the manager at the Pleasanton store (who was not friendly or helpful at all) and the Regional Manager (who was more friendly and more helpful) and they both agreed this would be the case. They also told me that there would be no way someone could take that many lessons in that short of time because of the way their scheduling works. I also explained that my first lesson was cancelled by Marcus and therefore I was shorted one lesson in that 29 day period. So, I should be compensated for that. They did not agree and went back the fact that there refund policy is based on time, and not lessons. This is a horrible policy that only benefits the company. So, while the lessons may be beneficial, beware of the company policies. There are tons of great golf instructors out there that will treat you fairly and won't mislead you. Also, please note that the lessons are based on 30 minute lessons, not 60 minutes. It's hard to get anything accomplished in 3o minutes so you end up using two lesson credits if you want an hour lesson. So my 10 30-minute lessons was really 5 60-minute lessons. This makes the cost of the package not worth it, in my opinion.

Starting from the giant parking lot which is just off of a busy street, you'll make your way through the gates and stroll up the long walkway to the front desk where you'll register to get your clubs and balls (you'll get your choice from among a few colors). From there, you'll have your pick of the two courses, one for novices and one for the more adventurous. Make your way through the obstacles and mark your scorecard to determine the winner of bragging rights! We came for a birthday party and logistically, they have the main room amongst the beginner course which is well lit from all the open windows but I believe they have another space near the arcade for those looking for a more enclosed, private gathering. Once the guests arrived, they hosted an orientation and got the members all equipped and ready to go. The youngsters had a lot of fun and can't wait to return! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You'll interact with them more at the arcades especially if you'll be redeeming prizes with your hard-earned digital tickets. The ticket values on the top tier prizes were pretty large but for frequent visitors or lucky winners, you can get some pretty neat stuff here. The mini prizes definitely reminded me of my times at the arcades when I was a kid, very nostalgic! Overall, Golden Tee Golfland is a well-maintained, family friendly environment conducive to an awesome time outdoors as well as an exhilarating experience soaking up the old school arcade vibe. We accumulated a ton of steps during our visit here and the kids could not stop hitting the greens to get their fluorescently colored balls into the holes. The obstacles are fun - there are water effects and moving doors and bridges. While most of them functioned as expected, there were a few hiccups with some like balls getting stuck or certain doors just not functioning as expected. For wetter seasons, the holes for the balls do end up pooling which makes picking the balls out a bit of an unpleasant endeavor. For being exposed to the outdoors, the place was in pretty good shape, however. It's a bummer that the Golflands don't have a unified system for the game cards as it just incentivizes families to just pick one and stick with it instead of venturing out and exploring the other amazing locations like this one. If you're a local, this is a great place to take a date or the family - it'll tee you up for a good time!
