First time playing this course. We had 3 players in our group. Nice course, beautiful views, fairways and greens in excellent shape. Shorter 18-hole course that will challenge you to pause, select the right club. I used most of my clubs in my bag. I will definitely make this my go to course. We're always on the lookout for good public golf courses in the East Bay. Found this shorter 18 hole gem in Dublin. There is plenty of parking and the clubhouse is well-appointed. We got our carts and drove up to meet with our starter, Gary. He's very friendly and gives you tips at the first tee. Didn't help me much as I pulled my first drive. Settled down after that tho. It's a shorter 18, as there are 11 par 3's which are 140-190 yds, with lots of bunkers. The par 5's are long. Tee boxes were in good shape, as were the greens. The grass along the fairways was a little thick. This was a nice course nestled in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Wasn't too tight where you feel like you could hit a house tho. Had a great experience at Dublin Ranch Golf Course. There was an unavoidable frost delay, but the staff handled it well and were friendly and helpful throughout the morning. Given the amount of rain the area had the previous week, the course was in solid, playable condition and clearly well maintained. We grabbed lunch afterward and it was surprisingly good--hit the spot after a round. Overall, a well-run course with welcoming staff, and I'd definitely come back. read more

Beautiful venue in Dublin, CA. Carolina, the Event Coordinator, was great to work with. She was patient with all of our requests, changes, and additions. She helped us move tables around to create a larger dance area and was available to us throughout set up and even after our event started. Our guests enjoyed the food that was chosen (see pictures). The only issue our guests had was there was only one bartender for the event. There was a long line for drinks for most of the night. read more

I had a very disturbing experience at the course today. I came an hour early so I understood when Bill F told me to come back in 15 min to get the cart. When I returned in 20 min, Bill F said "in 50 min, I said", which meant 10 min before tee time to get the cart. I noticed he was smiling. I returned to him and said, "I play at different courses and they usually provide cart 30 minutes prior to tee time." He said 10 minute was their policy and asked me if I wanted to speak to General Manager about it, to which I said I would. Perry L, the GC, said, after hearing my tee time of 2:20pm, they don't get paid for Hot Deals by GolfNow due to some kind of calculation. He politely asked me to go to practice green and wait. I told him that's my plan but my car was parked at the end of the parking lot and don't have time to carry bags around. Then, Perry asked me, " You don't have a cart, yet? Let's go talk to Bill". Bill previously said he has worked here for 14 years and grinned at me, which really pissed me off. When Perry asked him to give me the key, Bill showed and put the key hard into my hand. This golfing is a service industry. I said to them both, "Maybe you don't get paid by GolfNow as you said but still I paid $70 or so." They didn't reply to this. I added, "I've been here for 45 years. I understand the difference between 15 minutes and 50 minutes ". Bill F didn't respond. This is ridiculous. There was a starter checking in players at the Hole One. It's the starter's job to check in players. Jealous personnel at the desk shouldn't judge players by their own assumptions and treat players as they feel like. All they need is a good starter checking in players. , and kind personnel checking in players. That is, if the course wants to step up a little to the next level despite of having 12 par 3's out of 18 holes. The course's advantage is that the drainage is good in rainy winter due to their younger age. But, during busy season, if the personnel treat players like shit per their own assumptions, good luck with it. read more

I'm reluctant to draw attention to this absolute gem of a golf course because my second favorite things about the course is I almost never have anyone on either side of me. My third favorite thing is the condition of the course, from the layout to the rough and the greens. The greens are an f'n joke compared to Canyon Lakes or Bridges. I've been playing at Dublin Ranch since 2006 and there was a time in the 2019-2021 range where the greens were really beat up, though that hasn't been the case in years. Also, it's a not a true "Par 3," - there are two par 4's and a decent par 5. Playing the last 4 holes while the sun sets on the valley might be the best money an east bay golfer could spend right now. And for Hogan sakes, please don't tell too many people about this place -- just enough to keep them in business and the employees happy. read more

Also got to talk to Gary at the first tee box and Gary was one of the coolest guys I've met so if you meet him your in for a good conversation. Played this course with my normal group and we all found this course a little odd. There are some nice long holes but there are A LOT of par 3's that caused back up on tees because you are constantly waiting for groups to clear the green on several consecutive holes. The hills were challenging to get around on and there were so many staked areas you couldn't drive through so you are left walking up and down a lot. It was quite a bit of walking even with a cart. The carts were pretty new and in good condition. Has Bluetooth or radio for you to listen to something of your choice. I'm not sure I'd play here again. read more

I recently played Dublin Ranch, after which I completed a survey sent to me by the Course. In the survey, I commented that the pace of play was much slower than I expected. Soon after, I received an email from the Course's Director of Golf. I am including the following quote from his message so that people have correct expectations should they decide to play there. "I recently saw your review regarding slow play. Please understand the day you played temperatures were in the 70's and the Masters tournament was just about to start. With the amount of play we had rounds were going to be over 4 hours. Anything under 4:30 is considered a decent pace of play based on the amount of players." read more

$38 for weekday twilight. Short and hilly course with many elevation changes. A few tight spots and narrow fairways may eat up stray shots. Many holes are lined along the backsides of the master planned community. Views of the valley and the 580 freeway. Nobody was attending the snack shack when I check 3 separate times. I wouldn't want to play here on a busy day as the terrain doesn't really allow for speedy play. Carts are pretty weak. read more

If I could give them a NO STAR I would. This place doesn't even deserve one star!!! Horrible customer service, worst service. We booked the venue for a wedding ceremony and they basionly provided the room with no other services. In the contract they were required to provide soft drinks, plates, utensils and glasses. BUT there was NO DRINK AND UTENSILS There customer service was horrible. There was a very RUDE petite lady who I believe was in charge, and denied to serve the cake to our guests. We paid $2,000 for the cake but it got thrown away. I would never ever book this place for any of our events. read more

This is a short and quite challenging 18 hole par 63 course, but expect your round to last 4.5-5 hours. If you are first off the tee, you can finish in under 2.5 hours. There is no marshaling on the course and groups continuously get backed up on almost every hole. They invested some money into new carts and some ground repair, but I don't think it's worth the $75-80 weekend greens fees. They need to make the round enjoyable for everyone, not just the golfers who take 15-20 minutes per hole. read more

You know, I play a lot of public courses in the bay area and I'm surprised there are so many low reviews for this course. I played the course this past weekend with my golf club. The fairways were very green almost "lush" and the layout was creative with hills here and there and one hole which had the green perched on the absolute left edge of the end of the fairway. You had to hit the ball straight or to the right or your ball was rolling into tall grass and bushes. I loved the challenge! I read a couple reviews here where they never saw the Marshall and where the rounds were slow. Huh, try playing a 5.15 hour round at Tilden Park. Our Sunday round was exactly 4 hours and 20 minutes, and that's with our club's median age of around 64 and we saw the Marshall at least 3 times and maybe up to 5 times. I gave this course a "4" rating as they really had no dining room, you're limited to outdoor seating with a (fully stocked) snack bar and there is no driving range, albeit the practice putting green was long and in excellent condition. It's evident this course is well cared for and there is sense of staff pride. I will be back again soon if for nothing else than to work on my short game. read more

Not an old course with history/character. Probably born within the development boom of this town within the last 15 years or so, where they're developing into the hills eastward. Also very modern in that a housing community is imbedded into the development. Don't think you can build a golf course in a populated area anymore, without having housing all around it. But since this lies right in the middle of the rolling dry hills of Dublin/Livermore, they designed this to be links style golf, which is very open and exposed, much like what you will see in golf's origin countries of the U.K. So it won't be shady nor tree lined. It is a different brand of golf, that will polarize many golfers, as some love it but some will also hate or not care for it. I don't love it, but I do find it fun and challenging to attempt on occasion. I will admit that I wouldn't want to play this regularly, as it just takes a lot more from you to play. But here are some finds. On a weekend afternoon, it cost us $48 to play. Cart I believe was mandatory. It is a shorter course (par 60) so much more par 3's here. And because it is shorter, it by no means it is an easier out. ++Wide/very fair fairway landings. I hate narrow landings that penalize even if you hit it, but may not stay on. Many of us are never gonna be pros, were just out for a good time. When a course penalizes you more than it rewards you, it kinda takes the fun out of a round. ++Very well kept. Good condition from tee box to greens. Pretty lush grass. ++Many elevated views as you are deep into the hills. Nice contours and flow on most of the holes. The Negs: --Outside of the tee box, not a flat lie for the whole round. Typical links style. --Greens crazy large. Like an 80 foot putt is super common here. Makes even a 3 putt challenging. I struggled in this department on my out. --Crazy windy and exposed. Again typical links style. I was exhausted after a round here. --Poor yardage markers throughout the course. No markers on the sprinklers, basically just your 200/150/100 yard colored poles. For a modern course with a more upscale feel, this kinda baffled me. So I would still want to try this again some time to get a better feel on some of the holes aka redeem myself. It is hard to get a feel from a one time out. But I'm also not itching to come back, that links style is just too much work for me, when I'm supposedly trying to relax and have fun. *shrugs shoulders* read more

Absolutely love this course. A lot of people I know are reluctant to speak well about it because they see a par 63 and look towards Canyon or Las po-- when they still would shoot 20 over here. They don't know the hidden gem that DR is. I come out from Concord and my uncle comes from San jose and we play here every weekend because we love the condition and challenging parts of the course EVEN if the greens are humongous. We switch it up to the Blues every other round to alternate longer irons in play. The grass on the outside of the greens was a bit long the last two weekends, but made for a challenging second shot if we go left or right on the tee shot. My favorite greens in the east bay area. I wish there was a frequent flyer discount or a way to get our tee time for $45 on the weekends since we're here almost two times a week. The only critique-- Cart girls are a bit late to come around (but i assume maybe this is due to covid and staffing? If so, totally understandable) Nothing bad to say! read more

We celebrated our daughter's Quinceañera at the clubhouse in Dublin Ranch golf course. Kishara was very nice since the time I met her. She explained the pricing, recommended an event coordinator and we planned the party in two months. We met prior to the event, she accommodated to our requests (buffet outside, turn on the waterfall, doors open for ventilation). The food was plentiful & well prepared. In a word, horrible. HORRIBLE! The greens can not be called greens. They're like what mid 19th Century golfers in the U.K. had to contend with, people. Seriously, it was way beyond ridiculous. Dan in the shop was apologetic but that doesn't make up for it being a rip off @ $40. And this course used to be known for being well kept. This is a Par 63 course with about 11 par 3 holes. This is a good course if you want to practice a lot of tee shots. Most of the greens are wide and you have an option to play your golf balls on the safe side. Depending on the pin locations, you can challenge yourself by going straight to the pin but if you missed, you'll see your ball roll down the hill. Or you can play on the safe side and have yourself a long putt. Check also where the location of the greens and depending on if you're teeing off uphill or downhill, pick a club higher or lower to adjust your yardage to the greens. Their greens are not really good and putting will be a challenge. Greens are just thick and make it hard to adjust the speed of the ball when putting. I do like the layout since it gives you a lot of choices to play the holes safely. I liked the last hole since it's a long par 5 with dual fairway options on your tee shots. It's a nice par 5 hole after playing a lot of par 3 holes. Since there is a lot of par 3 holes, expect a slow play. If you don't mind playing a short 18 holes, try this course if you're around Dublin read more

As of 11/14/2020... do not waste your money here. The greens are in T E R R I B L E shape. I've have never played a course with such bad greens. They were very patchy, bumpy, divots were not fixed. My putts looked like they were rolling through a gravel road. Typical regulars not taking care of their own home course. Wish I would've stopped on the third and got my money back. And this not a review to degrade the business, because the staff is very nice. The course is why it's getting 1 star. Sorry to say, but I will never be back. read more

This is a review for the wedding packages that DRGC provides. My (now) wife and I could not be happier with the level of service that Carolina, Makenna, and company provided for our wedding day. Everything concerning the venue was perfect. A golf cart was provided for quick transportation for portraits. The reception food was delicious, which is a personal first for the many weddings that I have attended. And finally, the team was very organized and helped me execute my wedding schedule to the final detail. I have been playing golf for the last 10 weeks in courses all around East bay. Dublin Ranch is the best maintained course with awesome staff. The event center is simply the best. We hosted our in-laws 25th wedding anniversary here. Kishara, the lead events manager took care of all the details and is super fun to work with. The golf team is friendly and keep the carts and course clean. For beginners it is a perfect course to improve your golf game. Several great looking Par 3 and nice Par 4 holes. Very well maintained Tee boxes, greens and fairways. Overall, I recommend this golf course and events team. read more

This course used to be one our favorites in the Tri-Valley area. Course was always well maintained, very creative holes and beautiful views of the valley. And mostly par-3's so you can finish a round in decent time. No more. The fairways and greens are a disaster. It's like putting on gravel. They just aerated last week which made it even worse. I think the course was hit by some sort of disease, but they should be doing some serious discounting because it's nowhere near worth the fees they charge. read more

This course is absolute garbage. I should have listened to the previous reviews, it's mostly dirt and the greens are a complete joke. Literal dirt mounds and dry chunks (not just spots, whole sections of greens) on the greens like a putt-putt facility. I have spent a good amount of time hitting up different Bay Area courses during the Pandemic, and this one was hands-down the worst one. In addition to the terrible condition of the course, I had to wait for 30 minutes passed my tee-time to get a cart (that they already charged me for) and then the starter had the nerve to tell me I needed to play fast to catch the group in front of me... Not to mention about 12 of the holes are par 3's. Overall not a good experience and whatever they are charging for a tee time is too much. Just skip this one. read more

Review is as of October 2019. I've played this course a few times over the years, especially when I'm looking for a casual but nice place to tune up my game. It is a Par 63 "Executive Style" layout with more Par 3's than a standard 18 hole course but with a few Par 4s and a Par 5. It rolls through the hills of East Dublin and commands some nice views of the surrounding area from Livermore south to Mount Diablo to the North. Although it meanders through a residential community, I've not found the holes to be too close to houses and yards to be a significant distraction (although I would assume that a few homeowners occasionally feel otherwise). Regrettably, budget cuts earlier in 2019 prompted an ill-timed reduction in watering frequency that has essentially killed the course. A majority of the fairways and tee boxes have been turned to dust. The greens remain in good shape, and you may be lucky to find a few patches of the green stuff surrounding a sprinkler head. This is less of a distraction on the Par 3s as you are, ideally, hitting tee to green. But, if you miss the green or hit the "fairway" on one of the longer holes, you are likely hitting off bare dirt. On the bright side, I was able to walk on at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon with no wait and finished an 18 hole round in just over 2 hours. If you do end up choosing to play here, I strongly suggest you book your tee time on Golf Now as you'll likely save $$ against the posted rate. For now, this is NOT a course that I'd pay up to $60 to play. My guess is that any money saved by not watering is going to be eaten up by lost revenue and reseeding. read more
