Monica G.

Usually get the chicken and cheese quesadillas but I've decided to try the carne asada and it is so delicious! I don't get get the pico de gallo nor the beans just the rice. I really enjoy it! Service is fast and excellent.

Great Margaritas! Good food and fast service. This is always my go to place on a Friday to start the weekend. Even when there is a wait, it is never too long!

Everything at Plaza Azteca was really delicious, and we had an absolutely amazing server. The food came out so fast I was surprised! The guac was fresh and flavorful. I loved the birria tacos - if you've never tried it before or you're already a fan, you'll love these. Flan is one of my favorite desserts, and this did not disappoint. We'll definitely be back to try more of their menu and check out the really nice patio area!

Service was fast but also felt rushed. Food and Ambiance were decent. The best part of this meal was the Long Island iced Tea.. if we return, it will be for the bar!

My brother used to work there and a lot has changed. The only thing that hasn't was their amazing food and drinks. I have and will continue to recommend this place.I love their tableside guacamole, it just is the best food option in the area.

Plaza Azteca is always an option especially if we want to eat dinner late on the weekends. They close at 11pm. Although they do not serve authentic Mexican food, their food is pretty decent and we love their drinks because they are good and quite cheap for cocktails. Our last trip was the most delightful of all due to their service. I ordered beef fajitas and I asked for my beef cooked medium rare. If I don't ask for medium rare, the beef tend to be well done and there are times when it gets tough. Plus I like having a little sauce cos it adds flavor on my food. The only drawback is it gets messy. My SO ordered beef chimichanga. Their chimichanga is different than what we are used to. They didn't include the rice and beans inside the roll, but it was still good. I always get their piña coloda, which very refreshing. It seems like the alcohol content depends on whoever makes it. There are times when I can taste the alcohol and there are times when I can't. My SO ordered the coronita. He enjoyed it so much because he said that when his margarita is done, he still have a corona. It's pretty much a 2 in one drink. Our server was the highlight of our meal. He was very friendly and he was giving us good suggestions on our food. He was very accommodating to our requests as well. He is definitely one of the best servers we had. With exceptionally good service, delicious drinks, and decent food, Plaza Aztec is definitely a good place for Mexican foods. Sure you can find a more authentic Mexican restaurant than Plaza Azteca, but it still worth trying. This place is on my list on my next white salsa and chips cravings.

Happy National Margarita Day
Maria C.

Within a month, I have visited this location twice and enjoyed both visits to the fullest. On National Margarita Day and this past Friday night. Both visits my fiance and I sat in the bar area. The first time at the bar and most recently a two top table in the bar area. We were greeted immediately and presented with menus without hesitation. The margaritas are so amazing! The jumbo size, one is enough for me, but so worth every dollar. I love the complimentary salsa and tortilla chips. Both visits, we ordered the chicken soft tacos. Ahmazing!!! I only requested: meat, cheese, lettuce and jalapenos... so tasty! I can taste them right now. Two tacos and one margarita is plenty for me. During a Friday early evening and a Friday late night, the crowd was steady, but luckily both visits seating wasn't a concern for us. TVs are present! Parking may be a concern, but people are usually leaving as people are arriving. The restroom was tidy. I love it here! Please visit when time permits. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Lunch Chicken Quesadilla

This is the go-to Mexican restaurant for my wife and me locally. We liked to start with the tableside guacamole, but have them prepare it a little more "chunky" than smashed like mashed potatoes. I also have to add just a little bit of salt to it. Like most Mexican restaurants in the region, they provide both white sauce and salsa with the endless chips that come when you arrive. Funny, if I travel outside of the state the white sauce is not standard! In fact, if you travel more than 100 miles outside of Norfolk, VA it typically isn't available! There's a great backstory on that here; https://www.pilotonline.com/food-drink/article_fe7119ba-6c23-11e9-be4f-1f7a7c9f8291.html, check it out. Anyhow, the environment is good, the food is good, and it's usually service with a smile. Happy they're here.

It was a busy work day, so less noise is always appreciated. Our server Eduardo G. was friendly and attentive. The chips were fresh, along with the large bowl of salsa and smaller bowl of white sauce. The draft beers were cold. We enjoyed our dinner orders of the Enchiladas Supremas and Chori Pollo. We had plenty to take home for another meal since the servings were a good size. This location of Los Primos in the Mt Pleasant Shopping Center in Chesapeake is family friendly and has lively music playing at a low-moderate volume. We like the service and atmosphere, and we appreciate that we don't have to shout across the table when we're enjoying dinner and conversation.

Thhe service is on point! The Ambiance is on point! The attentiveness the drinks I cannot complain! I'm a margarita girl and the Margaritas here did not disappoint especially their Ranch Water. My favorite here is the classic quesadilla and you can choose your own protein. The first time I chose chicken and this last time which was on Sunday I chose the shrimp and added some fresh jalapenos... divine! My husband loves the fajita tacos I think that's going to be his go-to meal When We Dine here. The parking not an issue at all plenty of parking it does get busy around 6:30 7:30 on the weekend and on Wednesday which is 899 fajita nights. Now I will admit you on this night in particular I did get the steak fajitas I wasn't a fan of them but I still tore them up! The quantity that you get for 899 super super duper:] So pack your patience if you come on one of the busy nights. Today being Tuesday as I'm typing this review it's Taco Tuesday so tacos are a dollar and 50 Cent after 5:00 p.m. so I'm sure this night is going to be busy. Nevertheless it's worth visiting and priced just right! Have fun and enjoy life :)

Now we knew we were trying it by coming in so late and kind of close to closing time, so we were by no means making a fuss about what would or would not be available. Our waiter was very nice (albeit a bit awkward), but we were able to order quickly and in true good Mexican food restaurant fashion, the food came out quickly as well. It was all fresh and quite good (I believe I ordered street tacos and my friend ordered birria tacos). Missed opportunity for them not having sauces on the table, but also understanding that a) it was late, and b) all Mexican restaurants don't do this, especially if they are not a taqueria or another spot that focuses on tacos. The ambiance was fine, nothing special, but it felt nice in there. The seats weren't too close together, and even the booths had quite a bit of room, so that was nice. It was also all a good price, in my opinion! I would definitely go back to this spot, and honestly I'm kind of curious to know if it's different at different times of the day (Saturday afternoon/evening vs. a weekday/night).

We were sat immediately around 630 on a Friday evening. We received chips and dips before I could even sit down! Our server promptly greeted us and drinks were ready within minutes. So far, so good. For dinner, hubby had the Vegetarian E which came with a burrito, quesadilla and chalupa, daughter had the kids quesadilla with beans and I initially selected the shrimp bowl. Our food took about 15 minutes. Both quesadillas were barely warm and the cheese wasn't even melted. The refried beans were loaded with red pepper and too spicy for my child. My shrimp bowl was overwhelmed by cheese and aioli that I couldn't stomach it. Our server kindly let me order something else so I selected the shrimp taco salad. It arrived shortly thereafter but was also so greasy it made my stomach turn. 2 stars just for service. 0 for food. Overall, this meal was an unfortunate waste of $50.

We started the night with drinks: I went for a cold Modelo, while my friends both ordered margaritas, and wouldn't stop raving about how good they were! For appetizers, we shared the Union Trio! Fire roasted tomato salsa, creamy guacamole, and queso served with crisp tortilla chips. All three were fresh and delicious, a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I mixed things up with a taco trio! Carne Asada (marinated steak, onion, queso fresco, avocado, cilantro), Chicken Tinga (marinated chicken, refried black beans, avocado, greens, queso fresco, cilantro) and Blackened Mahi (mezcal pickled onion, red cabbage, red pepper pico, chipotle sauce, cilantro). The blackened mahi was my hands down favorite. It was super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friends tried some awesome dishes too! One had the Coconut Curry Mahi (blackened mahi, jasmine rice, edamame succotash, with a rich coconut curry cream sauce) and the other had the Duck Confit Taco (with cherry salsa, pickled carrot salad, and cilantro-lime creme). Our waitress was phenomenal and definitely suggested great choices.
