Well, not really, you can get unlucky. I recently showed up to find about ten people there, the place is huge, and nobody on the dancefloor. Of course, me being the high chief of deadly, I stomped onto the floor regardless and had a great night. So yes, it is fun most of the time, but when it's empty it can be really empty. PS: in the business info section there's a box you tick for parking. I ticked 'street parking' which is the truth. I got the fish and chips and was underwhelmed by the dish to say the least. There's better places to go to get that, and I only ordered it because they were out of loaded potatoes. On the positive note we came back when it flipped to a club. Super fun that you have live music during normal business hours and then a full party at night. The dj was pretty good for the most part and then adding a live trumpet and saxophone player was cool too. Definitely fun vibes. Also love that it is multi leveled but sad that not all levels were available to explore. Great that they have multiple bars to order from and all their bartenders are kind and quick. And because of it's teeny tiny size everything sounds much louder than it should, throw in a few fancy lights and this is one of the best 'loud music' venues in Dublin. But it's not, I've seen some absolute clangers in here. So I'd advise checking out who's playing before dishing out a cover charge, and maybe invest in some ear plugs too.

Loved the venue, loved the energy (although much of it was probably fueled by alcohol, I don't know- I'm part of the rare, lonesome breed who doesn't need alcohol to flail around like a maniac). Point is, the music selection was stuff you could dance to, so no complaints there. The DJ refused my request but I have weird taste so fair play. The bar staff kept me hydrated- they were on top of their game. I stuck around for two hours until there was literally no room left to dance due to the growing crowd. They wouldn't call a taxi for me which I guess is fine because so many cabs are already there, but there were other complications that weren't the club's fault so it's just me having a moan. All told? I'd definitely go again. If I ever come back to Dublin, anyway. Or Ireland in general.

A cocktail bar with a large selection of cheapo drinks, dimly lit and frequented by about 85% girls and 15% hopeful boys. The cocktails aren't good but they are cheap. A fiver buys you an Irish Mule (Jameson, ginger and lime) or even a mojito, for 6 Euro you can get a passion fruit margarita. None of the cocktails taste the way they should but they come in big glasses and the night is young. So is the average age, clearly attracted by the prices. In fairness, what they do, they do well: there are plenty drink specials like 2 for 7euro on Tuesdays, plenty of comfy seats, a separate bar that serves only shots (all a fiver), the venue is clean, there are plenty toilets and the staff is alright. If you don't mind the terrible hangover caused by too much sugar in your drink and too many different kinds of booze or you are young enough to handle that sort of thing, try Capitol Bar. My only advice is to stay clear of the ones that you haven't heard of before and you should be ok.

That said, €5 for a cocktail in the heart of Dublin is not a bad deal and currently Dandelion are offering to pay the 21.5% VAT on all drinks Monday-Friday, bringing the cost of a pint down to a cool €4.30. Whatever I may say about Dandelion, you'll not get a better deal on the Green and I saw a tanned, chiselled young man handing out flyers to this affect just the other day!
