My son was born premature in May, so we were spending a lot of time in Modesto. We had seen the development of "Play" on your trips to Babies 'R' Us. We kept saying we needed to check it out, specifically as we were trying to help our four-year old to the early arrival of her baby brother. Our son ended up going home from the NICU earlier than we anticipated so we never got to go - until today. We came all the way from Tracy to "Play" today. My daughter absolutely loved it. Someone mentioned the feeding area being far away from the main floor. I've been to several similar play places and this one was wide open, with seating for parents in the middle. I could see everything from where I sat, even when I fed my son in the snack area. The toys and play gyms were excellent. Maybe I hit a good batch of parents, but no one was misbehaving or disobeying the rules. Plus, this seems geared toward younger children so I didn't have to worry about my daughter getting body checked by a 10-plus year old. There are small baskets for "mouthed" toys. I saw them switched out (cleaned I assumed) twice while there. I loved the security of having multiple gates and checks along the way in. I'm not one to take my eye off my daughter, but the few times I lost her as she ran from the roller coaster to the diner to the princess castle I was glad her reign of the place was limited. As we left, after about an hour and a half, she asked if we could come back soon. It's too bad it's so far away from us. I'd love to have something like this in Tracy! read more

We LOVE play Modesto! The owners, staff, attractions are amazing! They are very clean and keep cleaning rotations throughout the day so everything is being constantly cleaned. Very family friendly, lots of activities for he kids to okay. There's is a play area just for crawlers and smaller babies closed in which I loved but open so you can watch your other kids. I loved that there is a few tables and chairs to sit to eat snacks. Also plenty of seating for parents. A changing table and couch in the back close to the bathroom. Also they provide clogs for the bathroom so you don't abbe to walk with your socks in there so that's super nice. Loved it! Definitely will be coming back. read more

I can't say enough good things about Play Modesto! My girls love their indoor playground and I love that it's a locally owned, family/veteran business that takes great pride in putting on wonderful events and everything is always so clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly! We had our daughters birthday party there recently and everyone had a wonderful time, and the staff helped set up and clean afterwards. And the events are always very well done! We went to a Baby Shark event a few months ago and it was a blast! Then this past weekend, the Frozen party was amazing! We've always loved plying here, but this was our first birthday party experience! We had my daughter's 5th birthday with a few friends, and everyone had the best time. The girls working that night, Lydia and Kim, we're the absolute best and so sweet, they were always available and ready to help in ways I didn't even expect but so appreciated! They helped us set up, gave us suggestions for the flow of the party but let us adjust to what fit our group, and helped with clean up and getting everything out to the car at the end! One of the parents who came said it was the most relaxed and enjoyable kids party she's ever gone too, and I feel the same way. The kids from the youngest of about 18 months to the oldest of 5 years old had so much fun and never got bored! Even without a lot of decorations, the space is so beautiful it still looks great! Attractions were pretty decent however you can tell this place does NOT get cleaned daily. I can assure that. There was a bunch of built up crumbs and dirt near the play pens. Wish they would follow more strict guidelines with cleaning. With children you can assure that everything goes in their mouth like it or not so the least you can do is make sure it's clean or attempt to vacuum or disinfect. Wont return. And praying my son doesn't get sick. read more

My 2.5 year old loved this place! It's nice and big, clean, and lots of stuff for kids to play with. Probably best for children under 5 or 6 although I'm sure some 7-8 year olds would still have a blast. This is great especially when it gets ridiculously hot; won't have to worry about hot play ground equipment and will enjoy their AC. We will definitely be back. Just make sure everyone going inside the building brings socks. read more

Booked my son's 2nd birthday party here. This place was so clean, super nice and so cool (as in cold for this summer weather) I was happy with it all. This is a great place for 10 and under. Especially for toddlers. My other sons (ages 8 and 4) had so much with their little brother. I like that they had a area for nursing and diaper changing. This is place is very cute! A bit small on the inside but has enough for kids to do! The downside is that adults are only allowed on the slides so if you have smaller kids that may need help you're limited to what they can actually do without you. They have a room in the back for diaper changes and nursing babies which was great! They offer snacks and do private parties. Overall was cute and fun but a bit pricey for the limited activities ($10). Socks are $2.50 if you forget your own pair. Staff is really nice though and it's definitely worth checking out with the kiddos! read more

We just celebrated both our son and daughters birthday this past weekend and it was better than I could have imagined. First booking was easy, clear and the owner kept me informed all the way till the week of. Decorations we're beautiful, elegant for a child's party and just made us feel so special. The entire play house, party room, shoe room and bathroom are clean. Next, the staff are so helpful. When I say they did everything, they did everything. They checked in with us every 20-30 min and let us know the best times for pizza, cake and character appearance. And the character Bluey was the best. My kids could not believe bluey came to their party. At the end of our party the two party assistants made sure we had all our belongings and helped us out. Best money spent on a kids party. Owner recommended best pizza place for delivery and where to pick up a cake since we were from out of town. (Came to town to celebrate with family) read more

The play structure is not high enough that you have to climb into it so you can still watch them from the floor. This is a perk for me since I have two kids. We have been long time customers here with both of our kids playing here often. We went today, was unaware they close early. We paid full price and we're then told, "oh we close in 30 minutes", so we paid 30.00 for two kids 30 minutes of play .... Rather disappointing, wish they would have told us before we paid. We would have left and went back the following day. Usually when we go, kids play for hours for 15 bucks a kid. read more

Took my 1 1/2 year old here for the first time today & she had a BLAST! super reasonably priced, & being a germaphobe - I have to say this place is well taken care of. Throughout our visit I saw multiple employees on the floor sanitizing & cleaning toys! Even in the snack room someone was vacuuming & wiping tables down as soon as a family was done. I was a little worried she might be too young still but they have something for all ages! I loved that they have a separate snack room - took a break to snack & back out to play. My son who's 3 year old son has been going to Play Modesto since they opened. For a year and a half we came every day. Less often once preschool started. He loves this place. Only a couple times did he not cry and beg to stay when it wHen it was time to go. Always cleaning during open hours. Big enough for kids to release energy and adults can relax or join in. Snack room for food you bring in or buy it there. Toddler area is great, building blocks, cars, slides, bouncing or pretend play. Air hockey and basketball for the older kids. My daughter who's 15 appreciates that when I force her to go. I've done his 2nd and 3rd year birthday party as well. Makes it so much easier than anywhere else. Kids stay very busy. They also do lots of events and characters for open play or as and add on to birthday party's. Lastly, The owners at Play Modesto are wonderful people. Very nice and family orientated. We're in town from Orange County and we found them on Yelp, based on the reviews we decided to stop by. First impression of the place was how clean, and colorful it was. It definitely has plenty of entertainment for kids any age and even after 2.5 hrs my 3 toddlers still had plenty of things to keep them fully entertained. Honestly the place itself is a 5 star but the hospitality was what really stood out to me.. I've got 3 under 3 so we have visited plenty of indoor play areas but play Modesto by far has had the best service. The owner I'm guessing was genuinely friendly and welcoming plus constantly cleaning up. I would definitely recommend this place. Plus it's a veteran owned business. read more

This is a great place to take preschoolers on a rainy day or a day to let them burn off steam without requiring you to as well. They have every toy your kids could want but you don't want and/or have the room for. You will see staff cleaning the whole time you are there. I love their dedication to keeping things as sanitary as possible. The bathroom system is a little awkward as you check your shoes at the front but they have crock like shoes that are for bathroom passage only. It's better than going to the bathroom in socks. They have a party room and a regular eating area where they have food for purchase or a place for you to provide your own snacks. We've gone here at least 4 times and plan to continue. read more

We came here for a family members birthday party. I had never even heard of this place before and I was impressed! It's not the biggest place, but it's perfect for little ones. Our toddler did not want to leave! I loved how clean and organized the entire play area was set up as well, and I like that there was baskets around for toys that have been put in mouths. The party room was very spacious as well and also very clean! The only down side was that adults can only go on the slide so we couldn't help my daughter get across the bridge and other climbing areas. She was too scared to do it alone, but overall it wasn't a big deal. However this place is absolutely great!
