I came here the other night for the first time and I had a great time. I didn't go to the actual restaurant, we just hung our in the beer hall/garden. They had a nice verity of German Beers on tap. My friends and I got a bunch of them and liked everything we tried. I know some of the things we got were Krombacher, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit, Spaten, Hacker Pachorr Oktoberfest. You can get either a full liter or half a liter. The prices were good, it was $7 for .5 liter. The food was late night good. It's hard for me to judge because all I tried was the pretzel and french fries and it was good, but nothing that could really be messed up. The pretzel is impressively large though. Ordered two of them and couldn't finish it all. The only thing that is bad is that it is crowded. We got there early, around 7 pm and the place was already really full and getting fuller. The line for drinks can take a while, so I recommend buying the full liter sizes of beer and/or multiple drinks so that you won't have to go back on line multiple times. Same goes for the food line. I had one friend wait on the drink line and another friends wait on the beer line so that it wouldn't take as long. Overall I had a great time and highly recommend this place. Taking Covid precautions very seriously. Temperature checked when coming in, masks and social distancing enforced, every worker wearing both a mask and face shield. Came for dinner and sat outside, though inside was available. Quiet night with only a few tables of customers. Had an Oktoberfest beer and for food we did a pretzel with beer cheese, chicken fingers and fries, and burgers. Food was good and service was pleasant and polite as well. In the era of Covid, our "new normal" during "unprecedented" times... it can be tough to find things to do for entertainment. Fortunately - Plattduetsche has reopened and they are ready to roll. We were led to believe that there was only outdoor dining, but I did see some people eating inside so maybe you have to specially request that or there is some sort of secret handshake? We sat outdoors and it was a nice summer day outside. We each had a serving of the potato pancakes and then shared the platter pictured below. Everything felt very clean and safe. Someone even cleaned the urinal basically immediately after I used it. They followed me in the bathroom like Navi from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We've been regulars in the beer garden forever, but recently had a baptism here in one of their private catering rooms. We did it cocktail party style and could not have been more pleased. Service was great, food was delicious and prices were reasonable. Really glad we went with the Platt! If you like big places, beer gardens, and live bands, this is the place. The German food is really good if you prefer that type. The restaurant side is above average and rest of place is ginormous. I love the look of all the wood features and has a lodge type of feel to it. I believe it covers several blocks. In the summer they open it up to the outdoors and there is plenty of room. The only negative is parking. If you get there early enough, they have ample parking, but some bands and nights can get pretty packed. read more

Yesterday, the traffic heading to Suffolk county was a complete disaster, what happens when the zombie apocalypse comes and we all have to leave Long Island? Over the years people have said this is a great place to see a band, there's a beer garden, they serve huge beers, bookmarked! I came over the summer for lunch and the place was closed so be aware of the times. Walking from the parking lot a few blocks away, I went in the side door. I see steps going downstairs, to the right looked like a wedding hall and to the left looked like where the dining action was happening. I walked by an office, there was a cheery woman behind the desk. She came out to greet me, can I help you? Yes! I'm soooo hungry, please point me where to go. We walk to the bar area and inside there's yet another room for dining. The bar is fine, thanks :) Once I'm seated, its on. There are a few German beer taps. Schofferhofer beer leaps out, its my favorite but I'd like to try something new. Not too dark I tell the bartender. He pour me a beer that's just right. First time here, I'm going for the Schnitzel. There is lots of choices to make, their website has a section called "Wurst Heaven"! Bratwurst, Curry wurst, Knackwurst, Krainerwrust, Bockwurst, there's a lotta wurst! Then, there's schnitzel. Jaeger schnitzel, Westphalian schnitzel, Champignon rahmschnitzel, Ziguener schnitzel and even Chicken schnitzel. I'm a sucka for Wiener schnitzel so I had their traditional Wiener schnitzel. A breaded, fried veal cutlet served with lingonberries and you get two side choices. I chose red cabbage and dumplings. O.M.G! The Wiener schnitzel is made PERFECTLY. Meat that's pounded thin yet fried with some crunch and the meat stayed juicy. I don't know what to do with lingonberries but I was dipping my cutlet in it, yummy. Now here's where panic sets in. I'm reading Yelp reviews while eating and I see THE BAR IS CASH ONLY. Man... I have $27 bucks in my wallet! I'm thinking I'm gonna have to either fight my way out of the bar or be a galley slave. The bill comes, I smile and and whip out the ATM card. The bartender took my card and said have a great nite. Whew. Authentic German food great atmosphere and most of all service is top notch. We have attended events here and they never seem to disappoint.

First time I was EVER here, and I look forward to coming back. The location is absolutely beautiful, with a very old school look, a nice looking bar, and a lot of room for dining. They make their own beer, which I will say is absolutely fantastic. It's the kind of place that the beer will keep you coming back! They look to have the ability to have a huge party, and that can most likely seat over 200 people. What's even neater is they have a Beer Hall, all the way on the outside, and it looks stunning. For food, I had a Chicken Schnitzel, an old school German dish, that was with a wonderful cream sauce to it. My wife went with a Bratwurst, that looked to have a nice spicy kick to it, which made it even better. One of the best things that we had ordered, and it's a MUST try, is a pretzel. I believe it came from overseas, in Germany, and it was arguably the best pretzel I ever had. Every item was wonderful to eat, but that pretzel is so tasty, and it goes wonderful with a few beers. If you have never made the attempt to come to this location, I strongly suggest it, there's a lot of history to it, and I believe they also have bands playing there too. read more

This is hands down my favorite outdoor dining spot in terms of Covid precautions. I'd never heard of this place before, but have already been there 3 times. From taking your temperature as you enter, to very spaced out tables (in our own 6 feet radius boxes), to specifically taped off walkways, to fully sanitized bathroom stalls before/after anyone enters, I've felt extremely safe every time I've come to Plattduetsche Park Restaurant. The whole experience was very "easy". They essentially turned their parking lot into one huge outdoor dining space (think size of a soccer field) and put one 8-10 person table per "box". Even though we've come as a party of 2, we were given our own box each time, which I appreciated, though I've seen two separate parties sharing a box (likely were asked if OK first, during peak time). That being said, I've come at around 530/6 every time and there was plenty of seating that we were allowed to pick our preferred table. I did see starting at 7 or so, it started to fill up so that all tables were taken by the time we left at 8/9. All the staff are masked the whole time and people are required to be masked while in the walkaway until reaching their own boxes. Service was attentive and helpful. Also every time I've been there (Friday and Saturday evenings) there has been live music, was was an added bonus. Felt like pre-Covid times. Parking was very easy on the street. My only qualm is the food - I wasn't a fan of the dishes I tried (frankfurter, spaetzle were both average) but maybe I just don't like German food. I should try something more mainstream (fries, burger) next time. But that is a small negative amidst many positives. Highly recommend Plattduetsche Park Restaurant for those looking for a safe yet inviting environment for a small party or large group. read more

I go back and forth with this place. Yesterday, went to watch the same old Jets there. Food and drink were on point, but.... 1) My main order of the Wurst Platter took way to long. I believe the runner took it to another table, because later on in the afternoon, after I told the waitress of the delay and was finally served and had eaten, the runner was about to set some additional food down at our table that we had not ordered. When we told him so, he rechecked the table ticket and delivered it to the correct table. 2) Near the end of the game, the TV we had been watching was switched to a different game. We had been there for close to three hours, and as paying customers we wanted to watch the end of the lousy, freaking game. I went here with my friends and for the first time, we went upstairs to have dinner in the dining room. The waitress gave us old menus. When we got the table bill, the amount was far higher than what was expected. We fought with the management and they only reduced the bill by $2. Never again will I eat there nor will my friends. Isn't giving you an outdated menu illegal and expecting us to pay? Three of us ordered the Bavarian sliders (which BTW were not too long ago $14) now $21. The menu said $19. We got billed for $46 and had to leave a tip. These restaurants are putting more and more hidden charges on. Williston's Bar in Williston Park added an additional tip separate from what I wrote on the receipt and said they had a foul up with their system and did not credit it back to me. It's not worth going out to eat anymore. Restaurants are failing and scamming customers. Read the bill closely. they are also adding a 25% gratuity on some of the bills. read more

This place is always a great time! The bartenders are always super friendly and helpful if you are unsure what to get. I love how big the beer garden is and overall how spacious the place is. I love coming here during October! They have awesome bites outside, they have giant pretzels, chicken sandwiches and more. Make sure you bring cash if you are looking to grab a bite outside. This place is fun. They have a good beer list and the night I went there was a live band which was fun. They have a section with sofas & fire pits which is great for a chilly night like we had. The food is also good. I had the brat burger, tasty & a great take on a burger. The giant pretzel with cheese & mustard is classic. Staff is rude when not ignoring you. They add a charge to every check for using a credit card before they even know how you're paying. They don't mention it so unless you look closely you are being ripped off. Food was bland and as far as the potato salad being German I'm not sure it was even potato salad, just some slice boiled potatoes. We can here for dinner on Saturday night since we wanted to change it up and try something different. My husband also likes the band who was playing so decided to have dinner and then walk over to the beer hall. We started with the potato pancakes, he had Sauerbraten and I had the veggie burger with a garden salad for dessert he had the Apfelstrudel with vanilla ice cream. The server was attentive the decor was nondescript and too bright for my liking for dinner. The potato pancakes were nicely prepared. They were crispy and not oily. My husband liked the sauerbraten he said it was one of the better ones he has had. The beef was flavorful and tender, the red cabbage was tasty. My veggie burger was charred and came with fries the server took it back and replaced it. The veggie burger was good if you like bean burgers which I do. The apple strudel was good but not flakey but still a nice choice. Overall it was a positive experience. We would go back a word of caution parking can be challenging. read more

I have been to the establishment to see bands many times before, but tonight was extremely upsetting. I was physically assaulted by a man twice my size who grabbed my throat and threw a beer in my face because I asked him to stop smoking in the establishment. I complained to security twice who told me I should just calm down . when they smoked again my friend asked him to stop& the man told her to F off. After a 3rd time I said something & his girlfriend pushed me & we pushed each other & then the man got in my face. I asked him to step back, he refused so I stepped up on a bench. He then grabbed my throat & threw a beer in my face. Security did nothing except to offer me a free shirt. If you're looking for a hearty German meal in a fun and cheery atmosphere, this is the place. Plattduetsche (why do they spell it like that? Shouldn't it be deutsche?) is a multi-faceted venue: restaurant, beer garden, catering hall that doubles as a music venue...I'm speaking now strictly of the restaurant a/k/a main dining room experience. As others said, it's large, bright, colorful, open, and easily could get a bit loud. Big tables including several rounds that could hold eight or more, kitschy old-world German decor accented by a beehive motif (also noticed on the dinnerware). Smiling and sweet waitresses costumed in charming dirdls that are designed to be a little bit of tease but not the trashy low-cut ones. And they didn't seem to mind wearing them. Atmosphere 4 stars. Appetizer: friend brie with seasonal fruit: this was out of this world and I would definitely order again. Four nice logs of brie in a panko/sliced almond coating mix, lightly fried, accompanied with orange and apple slices and sitting atop of mound of lingonberries in syrup. Never had a lingonberry to my knowledge and I regret having waited so long. Kind of a marriage of cherry with blueberry, bringing out the best of each. Sweet enough and went so well with the brie. 5 stars. My entree: another addition to my foodie lexicon is ziguener schnitzel, a pork dish (so many schnitzels, who knew?) featuring unbreaded pork cutlet. Trying to reduce my carb intake a bit. The brown sauce was thick and just a little sweet. Mounds of mushrooms and peppers on top. The presentation was gorgeous, but the food didn't really *WOW* me. It was good -- definitely good -- but not memorable (as was, let's say, that fried brie!). Same could be said for the accompanying potato pancakes and red cabbage. They seemed to be asking for just a bit more seasoning. 3 stars. My husband's entree: here's where we ran into trouble. Pork shank, which took the forewarned 25 minutes, and he was just not happy at all. Skin was too hard, shank was not meaty, and it was very dry. This was really bad because 1) he loves pork shank and hasn't had the dish in ages; 2) we came here specifically because they had it; 3) at $29 it's the priciest item on the menu. Alas, only 2 stars here. However... we decided that we needed to express our dissatisfaction, and were soon greeted by Assistant Manager Christina, who was patient and kind, and took steps to compensate us very adequately for the disappointing pork shank. High marks on the customer care here. Dessert was a piece of warm apple strudel with fresh whipped cream. So good. So we're averaging out at 3.5 stars. Hope to get a chance to update. I expect at least to have the opportunity to check out the beer hall in the not too distant future and I think that at the next dining experience, I will make a point to ask for recommendations based on what our taste buds are craving. I have to say that from Hempstead tpke you would never know that this massive establishment exists I've heard of it as a great music venue and finally went last night for a band called Wonderous Stories. Nice menu. Pretzels are imported from Germany and are so good, they taste like cake. Not the huge selection of beer I expected but good enough. Delicious potato salad and sauerkraut. Great time in the beer garden in picnic tables all for us. While we could not enjoy the inside or sit at the bar at the time, our waitress did a great job keeping the drinks flowing and handling our order. As always, the Bavarian sliders are a hit with our group. I'm pretty sure those are worthy of making a trip there and thats without even mentioning their beer selection. They also had some live music that night which makes for a great time. Overall they are doing a great job with the COVID guidelines. I finally went here for an event and had a great time! Food, staff, cleanliness was top-notch. Food was served buffet-style and it was better than expected. It was a mix of German and Italian food. The chicken marsala, baked ziti, schnitzel and sauerbraten were ALL fantastic. Great salad and bread. You can tell that the management and staff CARES. Ok thats fine. Was the first one in the restaurant got half way thru my meal and the room filled up.
