I have been to this Plato's Closet a few times now and can usually find some good clothes! I have also sold to them several times, and they are pretty quick when sorting through clothes compared to other locations I have ben to. Like all Plato's, they are very selective on the items they buy from you, so if you are selling, don't expect much. I do like how there are several fitting rooms in the store, so there is not much guesswork while shopping. Compared to other thrift stores, Plato's is on the higher price end, considering they do not just accept any donations. Overall, I love a good Plato's trip and will be back! read more

I was skeptical to bring clothes in to sell based on the reviews but figured I'd give it a shot. Surprisingly they bought 14 of my items and gave me $42 in cash. I was satisfied since this stuff has been in storage bins for years. I could've gotten triple that at least if I sold on eBay but didn't want the hassle. The girls working were super nice and text me when they were done. Personally I don't shop here because the stuff is extremely expensive for secondhand, so I'm glad they pay in cash and not store credit. read more

They didn't fully use the system when checking me in like the other locations did. They still took some clothes, seems like they take 15 items at each store from my experience from one other store and this one. My god this place is a joke..... I just wanted to see what i can get for these clothes that has EVERY TAG AND PRICE TAG besides 2 shirts & 1 pants. I watched the man grab a pair of pants from the top & DIDNT EVEN LOOK AT THE REST!!!!!! They said "we're very picky about what clothes we take" and took only 1 pair of pants that didnt even have the tag price tag was 205 and GUESS WHAT... THEY OFFERED 5.25$ I showed them 2 pairs of Niké (2 pants, 2 shirts) and they said "we do t accept niké" BIGGEST LIE OF THE YEAR!!! Came in with a bin full of good clothes I thought for sure they would want based on what I saw on their site, they quoted me twenty minutes to look through it all, only to tell me after an hour of waiting that they want NONE of it. I had several pairs of Levi's jeans, tank tops, and new clothes that have never even been worn that are definitely in style. That was a total waste of my time. When I got home I opened the bin up and it doesn't even look like they looked through it at all. I submitted a very famous Cardi B outfit, which they separated and wanted to give me four dollars for one piece of it. Staff is extremely unknowledgeable offering me four dollars. Honestly, I was grossed out. The employees were wearing sports bras and were unkind. I could care less about my trades value but it was uncomfortable. Women should be comfortable in their own skin, however being damn near naked at work is not acceptable. The manager was there so she knows. Young adults should not be exposed to that vulgarity. In all honesty I always find good stuff at this location, levis, doc martens, bags. But the staff is god aweful. They're so rude, don't acknowledge you, and can't stand questions. I went up today to ask a questions and two employees were talking and they just continued their conversation like I wasn't standing right there. There's always a million employees working and all they do is sit around. I always message their instagram to see if I can put something on hold/ ask if something is still available and they have gotten back to me ONCE. So ridiculous. I was very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service salesmanship displayed at the store. I came in to sell a couple of namebrand items, and I felt like because it was so close to closing that they didn't even want to deal with me. Which if had they been honest and just said hey, we're getting ready to close. Can you come back tomorrow? I would've been more than willing, but instead they made up some lame excuses about the items I was trying to sell. What really bothered me was the way they made a joke of it not only amongst other staff members, but with another customer that was in the store, I essentially became the brunt of their joke, I will never shop at that location again. The entire store is full of SHEIN and target wild fable clothing! Yet they didn't buy any brand new Nike swim tops with tags still on among other things. They gave me $26 for four pairs of shoes which is fine I guess. The employee who was buying had probably the most uninviting energy I've ever experienced in this store. Also, two employees were wearing jeans with a plain black top, and the other an oversized sweatshirt. How are you gonna have people with no style decide what sells? Probably explains why the racks of clothing were packed so full I couldn't even look at anything! read more

Walked in there this afternoon ....owner snubs me after I give her a a hello .A minute later she accuses me of stealing at her other location on Oracle (never been there) tells me she has me on video surveillance ....I laughed & asked her to see it and she told me she didn't have it and asked me to leave . She then said 'you live right across the street right?'...I said no I live on fifth and Pantano .... (Second mistake she made) she still insisted that I leave..lol ...ridiculous. They were drooling at some of the high end designer clothes I brought in there to sell. Was told they have really good buyers that would look up the retail price and make an offer based on that, more lies! Dang. I gotta say, this place is near perfect! Store: this store is clean and meticulously organized (by size, style, AND color). Though it is technically a resale shop, it doesn't have the faint smell of moth balls and dirty feet. It's a huge store, but every easy to navigate. Employees: nice. They are just genuinely nice. Prices: OMG. Every thing is priced very low. On top of that, they have a very large selection towards the back of the store where they hold the 50% off. Now, you'd the the sale selection is just a bunch of stuff no one wants...WRONG. While I picked out things from the regular prices area and the 50% area, I ended up buying what was from the sale area. I mean, usually when I get something 50% off, it's because I have to talk myself into it; "it's so cheap, it would be a crime not to get it". But not with their selection. I would have happily paid full price for my items! They just have a great selection all around. Unlike Buffalo Exchange (ew) they offer a customer loyalty card. Once it fills up, you get 20% off your full purchase. They will give you an extra stamp if you opt out of taking a bag. Anyway, this place is great and I simply can't wait to go back! Big yikes. The employees don't wear masks properly nor do they enforce customers to wear masks. I came in earlier in the week and half of the employees where wearing them and when I came In today to return an item none of them were!!! The only one who did was a girl who checked me out. The other employees had them under their chin the entire time I was in the store (10ish minuets). A man also walked in without a mask and the employees did nothing about it. I will not be returning until the pandemic is over. This is a really unsafe business. read more

I have been to the Plato's Closet on Oracle many times and have always received a fair amount of money when I've taken in gently-used clothing, shoes and accessories. Everyone has always been very friendly and helpful there but the Broadway location was the complete opposite of that. When I walked in, the girls up front were too busy talking amongst themselves to even acknowledge when I walked in. After a few minutes, one of the girls came up to me and asked what she could help me with. I told her I had some stuff to sell and gave her my info. She said it would be 15 minutes and I told her I'd be back and she said "I said it would only be 15 minutes, you can also just wait." First of all, I don't HAVE TO wait at the store while they decide if they want to buy any of the stuff I brought in, and second of all, that attitude was completely unnecessary. I came back 30 minutes later and again, I had to wait for the girls up front to finish their personal conversations (non-work related) before one of them came back to ask what I needed. I had several clothing items and 3 designer bags that were all in near-perfect condition. One of the purses I was trying to sell had the matching wallet. The girl told me she could offer me $76 and when I looked in the bag of items I had brought in, they had taken all but maybe 2 of the 15 items I brought in. I told her I wanted my purse back and the wallet that came with it as I didn't feel they were giving me a fair amount back. She got extremely annoyed and tossed the bag back in my bag of items they didn't want to purchase and asked "you want the wallet back too?" and I said yes even though I had already told her I wanted both back. She wasn't happy about it but I refused to take such a low amount when I paid over $600 for both that purse and wallet and used both only a handful of times. I by no means expected to get back exactly what I paid for the purse and wallet but I know for a fact they were going to mark up both for 5-10 X's more than they paid me for them based on what I have seen as both a seller and buyer at Plato's. The "I don't care" and "you're interrupting my non-work related and private conversation" attitude most of the girls have at this Plato's location is so irritating and made me never want to shop or sell at this location again. The unreasonable amounts they offer on designer products that are in a like-new condition just adds to the feeling of not wanting to return as there are many other buy, sell, trade retail stores to choose from other than Plato's Closet. I have been to several other Plato locations that aren't in Tucson and have never received such poor customer service. What a shame. read more

Went to sell clothes and the buyer was so rude. As a person who works in luxury and high end fashion I was so surprise with their buying methods. They were very lazy and instead of checking authenticity of an item then just try to buy it as a fake. There's no system to it. The buying is literally horrible and when you're inside its a mess all the clothes are every where and it's a truly terrible selection. Maybe it was a racial thing because my clothes were in better condition and better brands than most that are in store. read more

I just moved to Tucson back in August and when I found Plato's it was like being home. I gave told everyone I come across about this amazing little gem tucked away in a strip mall. It doesn't matter if you are size 2 to 22. The only qualm I have is I wish that the plus size section was a little larger but hopefully that is in the works. So if you are in the market go off load some of your gently used fine trendy threads to r stock up on new finds you should definitely stop by and take a different look at your old philosophy at Plato's Closet read more

I came to the store today and brought in the clothes I don't want anymore, they were almost brand new (used twice or three times) but they didn't take most just because it had a little spot or wrinkle and they didn't take some good condition jeans from lee jeans or converse. The staff were nice and professional. I have a few complaints Though. I had over 30+ items to sell and they only took 8 items. One of them being a brand new VS pink sweatshirt and I only got $22 from all the stuff they took. Also, the stuff they sell is very outdated and dirty from what I saw, there was nothing wrong with any of the clothes and shoes I brought to them but I guess they're just "picky" on what they sell. (Which makes no sense because what they were selling was way overused clothes.) I won't be back to this location, only because they turned down a lot of my clothes that I had which most was either worn once or twice or not worn at all. I also had a Michael Kors shall that was well worth over $200 brand new never worn and they didn't take it. Beware of this location!
