Service is unremarkable. Selections is okay. Value is good. One thing I noticed on my most recent visit is they take one shoe from each box and keep it in the back. I found this extremely annoying. I have two feet when I try-on shoes. I like to try on BOTH shoes. I figured I was shopping in the shitty part of town where morons steal shoes. I thought I was just having a bad day until I was prompted to select a tip upon swiping my credit card. WHAT??? At a shoe store. Was that for asking an associate to fetch my second shoe from security safe?? My god They are right when they say tipping in America has gotten out of control. Had my keys stolen from Circle Plaza DSW. My keys were on the floor next to a seat for trying on shoes. I returned the shoes to their rightful place and returned to find someone stole my keys. They were never turned in and when I asked mgmt if I could review about an hour of video I was told that "we cannot waste hours of time looking for where you left your keys".... not left, STOLEN. I like DSW because I can generally find shoes in the clearance section. It takes a bit of looking and I'm not always successful but when I am I'm very excited! Half the fun is the treasure hunt. It's also super easy to return online purchases to this store. Another plus. If you sign up for DSW rewards or emails they're always giving away free stuff with purchase. It's a company where your dollar can be stretched if you play your cards right. My latest find were sparkly flats 20% off in clearance. They're super cute! The store itself is always clean, employees don't really want to be bothered (which I can understand is a sore spot for some). For me, I don't mind. I just do my best not to ask them any questions. This isn't my normal store but I was on that side of town so why not. While I was in line, the clerk was super friendly with the lady in front of me. She was getting her set up with an account and that's okay. When it was my turn she was polite and said hello. Asking the usual did you find what you were looking for. I said I did. She asked for my phone number so she could enter for my account. I said I I didn't have an account and I wasn't really interested. She said have you shopped with us before, as her tone was turning. I said yes but I wasn't interested. She said okay and the quit taking to me and became very aloof. She asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. This place is very-well laid out and easy to shop; spacious and open with plenty of space in the aisles. The customer service seems to be lacking overall. Inquiries made to every employee I encountered gave me somewhat of a put-off response as if to say they're not moving from where they're standing to help. They're plenty friendly enough but customers expect a little action. I expect that if I walk across the store to find someone to help me that they will walk over to where I need help. This does not happen here. I'll be back as I didn't have enough time to browse enough. I did purchase a pair of shoes, again, with no help from the employees. The pair I really wanted wasn't in stock in my size and there was no way to find out if and when it would be restocked. Most employees I spoke to seemed as they were the new guy; no help or expertise offered or implied. Somewhat of a disappointment. Every time I have gone here, the staff have been very courteous. They are not pushy about a sale or bother me with questions. I usually find a very good quality shoe on the sales rack. The sales racks are at the back of the store. It's a major reason I love hunting for a deal here. Sometimes I'm lucky and sometimes I wait for a rainy day. Sooner or later, I find a perfect match for my lifestyle. I can be picky about comfort and materials. They carry a variety of brands and I recommend this place for either the sports shoe or work shoe enthusiast. There are a lot of pumps, or flats, for the ladies night out too. The only quirk I noticed is that a majority of the shoes sold there are for women. The mens rack was only one quarter of the store and the childrens shoes had a short and limited variety as well. There are purses, clutches, and accessories for sale also but they are limited in number too. The layout of the store is crisp and easy to navigate through and the lighting is good. I like that they keep the socks and leggings by the line for the pay counter. Gives me something to look at while I'm waiting. Over all, I enjoy going here. read more

I really enjoy this place. I'm signed up for coupons and get them pretty steadily. Sometimes I find a lot of shoes I love and sometimes I don't but I love their open layout and being able to stroll through all their aisles of shoes without feeling crowded or bugged by pushy salespeople. So DSW has plenty of different types of shoes and a variety of sizes. The problem for me is they do not have larger (14/15) size shoes. Another problem is their price. They tend to be pricey, unless you to their sail racks. Their sale rakes often have very good prices if you can find something in your size and style you like. read more

I got a pair of New Balance at DSW at a good price. I wore them off and on for about 4 months and notice a bad squeaking (i am hard of hearing) that a friend pointed out to me. Apparently it was very bad and it disrupts people as i walk. When i tried to return them even though everyone agreed they are extremely disruptive they would not take them back because its been too long. Now I wear them and people make fun of me.
