It's been an age since I've had my feet measured at a shoe store. And service? You're talking to the Macy's shoe sale bargain queen. But when my mom wore a hole in her walking shoes (after 15 years!), I suggested we go to Alan's Shoe House. Her first saunter through left her unimpressed. Then, we were served. Mom had her heart set on a particular brand. The sales guy -- ever patient and kind -- recommended she try on a pair of Ecco's. So far, so good. But she has bunions from years of retail sales in high heels. (Ladies! I'm tellin' ya!). No problema. Alan's was flexible. Wear them around the house for a couple of days to test their comfort. If they're not a good fit, bring 'em back. Alan's can also stretch shoes in specific areas overnight and then ship them to you. Not necessary this time, the shoes fit perfectly Okay, I have to add this. Although I wasn't in the market for shoes that day, I spotted something on the way out that has made a huge difference in my daily life. The vented BackJoy seat -- which looks like it should be on a farm tractor -- is designed to cup your butt cheeks (once you "skootch" into the right position) -- and initiate the correct alignment of your spine. I am here to say that whether you're typing your latest Yelp review or logging hours at the computer the 40 bucks you spend on BackJoy will save your hundreds on chiropractic massage. read more

Service is excellent, selection is excellent, value is fair, but..... Brita is amazing, we went in for 1 pair and bought 3 pairs!!!

Good selection of shoes. I bit pricey. There are not many shoe stores in Tucson so if you are looking for good quality shoes you are in luck read more

If it weren't for Liz who was working at the Oracle store today (she usually works at their other store) I would say the three of us would never return to Alan's. Liz is the only reason it wasn't a one star review. Really disappointed in the customer service! No greeting, no contact, rude, argumentative, mocked us, told us to come back another day (that's a great technique for keeping customers), and extremely unprofessional. One especially was a disappointment in her attitude. Saw no problem helping someone else who arrived 30 minutes after us. Then Liz came along - apologetic for our hour minute wait and for the way we had been treated. Very cheerful and helpful. She knows how to treat customers. Brought out several shoes for my friend who had just had knee surgery. Very knowledgeable and kind. Maybe the other employee didn't have any training but NOT arguing with a customer (3 of us) seems to be a "duh" in retail. We will visit the other store next time we need shoes or go to Dillard's. read more

The lady who helped us was very knowledgeable. It was buce to a ctuslly get sized for a change. She found several styles of shoes for my diva feet. Cost was about the same as any other good shoes store. read more

Do you ever miss the days back when shoe stores greeted you when you walked in and got a catered experience? Well you can experience those days in 2023 if you go here. The guy who helped us was super awesome and got us in and out in record time. My brother wears a size 15 extra wide and finding shoes is very hard for him. They have good selection for wide feet here. read more

Wow! An old fashioned shoe store where service really does matter! What a gem of a find! I had taken a fall in my hotel room in the night and had a substantial shin bruise and gash. I had discomfort walking and here I was in the Tucson area to HIKE for 5 days! Well, I had seen all the commercials for Oofos and how they help with recovery. I called the Alan's since they were listed as an Oofos dealer. The gentleman who answered asked my size and then went to check to see if they had any, which they did. I drove about 30 minutes to the store and the in-store experience was the same. The gal waiting on me measured my foot and brought out what they had in my size in several different styles. I got exactly what I wanted and yes, the Oofos around the hotel definitely alleviated my shin pain! read more

I love this store. Great service and so many shoe choices for both men and women. They also carry purses. Best shoe store in town.

Shopped at Alan's Shoes on Oracle and they have a large inventory. There were several pairs I wanted to try on, but I could not get anyone to wait on me. There were two clerks talking with each other and another that helped another shopper then joined the chatty couple talking. I was there for at least 15 minutes == probably more. I was so frustrated when I left == walked out and no one said a word. read more

Always a pleasure to shop at Alan's Shoes. Friendly, helpful staff and good quality shoes.

Stopped by here for a good pair of running shoes. There's a huge selection of Brooks, Hoka and New Balance. The sales team were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! I highly recommend this store. Two thumbs and two toes waaaay up for this company! read more

I had an outstanding experience with my salesperson at Alan's shoes today. Her name was Karrissa and she helped me with finding the perfect shoe for me. She was extremely helpful, energetic, informative and tireless in her helpfulness. I felt a difference in shopping at this local store rather than a larger department store or shoe outlet. Karrissa made all the difference for me finding what I needed for my foot and lifestyle. I Highly recommend Alan's shoes for your footwear needs. Carol J read more

Amazing service! Great selection! I went in to by shoes for work. I'm a nurse so I am on my feet for 12+ hours and I need comfort and support! They helped me from start to finish! They have a machine that tells them where your pressure is at on your feet so they can help with inserts if you need them. She had me walk around the store on different surfaces to make sure the shoes were a good fit. Excellent service and very informative! Will definitely be back when it's time for new ones!!! read more

Today was our first time shopping at Alan's shoes on North Oracle Road. Karissa helped us, and she was very helpful, patient, kind, and funny. She made our first time experience a GREAT ONE. We will definitely be back. She provided many different styles for us to choose from, and I definitely recommend everyone to stop by and see what Alan Shoes has to offer. read more

Alan's Shoes - Very comfortable shoes - Shoe Stores Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

These guys are great. I used to buy my "sneakers" at those big box stores. I got tired of my feet getting tired and shoes not fitting right. The team here Not only did they measure my feet hand to ensure I was getting the right size. They helped me pick a shoe that works for my lifestyle. I have found that just because it is the right size, all shoes are made a bit differently and therefore fit differently. The staff here got me the rights shoes, the right insoles, and now my feet are happy. When I step out of them at night, I can tell that they have been cradled all day. read more

Alan's is a treat for the eyes the minute you step into the store!! They have a fabulous selection of shoes and accessories to choose from. They also have a nice sale rack. The best is their employees...patient, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. Shopping there is a pleasure. Go see for yourself read more

Don't do it! Returns aren't allowed, contrary to the receipt. Expected me to wear them around the house. That does no good if you need the shoes for other activities. And now I know why I've never seen another soul shopping when I am. I'll go someplace else. Never thought shoe shopping would be more like gambling. Small businesses are their own worst enemy. I've spent a lot of money at that store. Lost a customer. read more

I was very glad I chose to shop for shoes here. They had the style and size I needed. Karrissa was very attentive and worked with me until I found a pair of shoes that fit well in addition to looking good for my need for formal shoes. She probably spent half an hour with me. Once we picked the best fit, she adjusted them with pads to make things even better. read more

Alan's Shoe House aka New Balance Tucson is a really great store! My husband has slightly difficult feet, which cause him a lot of pain from time to time, so we can't just buy shoes anywhere, and certainly not sight unseen off the internet. If Tucson didn't have Alan's, I think we would be thoroughly screwed, or would be returning shoes a lot. I've never been to another shoe store with such an awesome staff who are so dedicated to making sure you get exactly what you want *and* need to be comfortable day to day. They understand feet and how your feet affect your entire body and life. They helped me understand different injuries to the knees and back, and how they're caused or exacerbated by the ways we're walking that are incorrect. Then, they help you find a shoe that supports your foot in a way that hopefully alleviates and aids in correcting your issue. Over the years, we've had many employees spend upwards of an hour at a time trying on different shoes with us. They're patient, and they're nice. They make a stressful, and sometimes painful, experience better. They also carry a wide variety of shoe sizes. If you have super skinny feet, or super chunky feet, they can get shoes for you. If they don't have what you need in stock, they'll order them for you. You can try them on when they arrive, and buy them or not at that time. No pressure at all. Even if you don't have any feet (or knee or back) difficulties, you can find shoes at Alan's. They have a lot of good, reliable brands, and a good selection for both men and women. I have no feet issues and I still buy my sneakers here. They do specialize in New Balance, after all, and I think they're the most comfortable sneakers hands down. And they carry the higher end of the brand, too. At places like DSW or Famous Footwear, they mostly carry the cheaper end of the brand, which offer less support and less comfort, though they're still ok shoes. At Alan's, you get the higher end of the brand, which are just more comfortable. It took me going to Alan's to realize this, and even though they're more expensive, I'll never look back. My feet are just too happy now! Their prices are a tad higher than other shoes stores or internet shopping, but the personalized attention you get just can't be beat. It is worth the extra few bucks, and I gladly and willingly pay it to a good locally-owned business. TIP: They often have coupons in those coupon mailers that you get periodically. Watch for them! Give Alan's Shoe House / New Balance Tucson a try! read more

Great service, nice selection of good quality shoes. We went there looking for Hokas, since it's one of the brands they carry. My son works as a cashier and is on his feet all day, and his old shoes were killing his feet. Really appreciated the personalized service, from measuring his feet to helping us pick up just the right pair. Really knowledgeable sales staff. If you're a runner, you definitely need to check them out. They also have a great selection of hiking shoes and sandals. They even offer a military discount. read more

Thank you Brita for Helping me we support small business locally I'll be back!! Solid selection of shoes from running shoes to higher-end casuals for men and women. Excellent service- a real shoe store! I'll definitely be back. read more

We went into this store for Birkenstocks for my husband and inserts for my court shoes. Karrissa waited on us and it was a great experience. All of the staff plus the manager helped us find the right inserts and the right shoes. We ended up buying two more shoes. We had to special order a pair for me and everyone there made sure we were satisfied with our purchases and the service they provided. I will go back the next time I need shoes. Great store that I highly recommend and the prices were reasonable for great fitting shoes. read more

No wonder why people people shop online. Stores like this offer horrible customer service. Tatiana a sales rep sat on a stool and watch us walk in. We knew exactly what we wanted and waited 25 mins with no greeting and finally one brunette sales rep said that someone would be right with us. Ten mins later still no one. Tatiana still sitting down helping only one customer. Don't they know how to multitask here? The owner should know. I'm going to call Sandra the SM and I'll update the post. My recommendation, save the trip and shop online. *update: talked with Sandra and she showed empathy and understanding, seemed to have a plan to redirect her staff and left me feeling like she recovered my situation. read more

After having been told by my podiatrist it was in my best interest to change my style of footwear, my partner and I went directly to "Alan's Shoes". Not only was I impressed by the vast selection, but Brita, our sales associate was amazin, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. not having purchased the first time, we went back a second and purchased two pairs of shoes. I didn't want anything dowdy but shoes shoes are stylish and something I will gladly wear. Thank you "Alan's Shoes" and thank you Brita!! I highly recommend this store. read more

Alans is the best. The staff and selection are great and they really understand the importance of good shoes and foot care!!

I used to love this place! I've been a loooong time Alan's shoe customer, but the last 3-4 years or so service has been terrible. They have a large selection of comfort shoes and I'm sure I'll be back for that, assuming I don't care much about proper fit. Alan's shoes employees used to be shoe fit experts, now they are just sales people, no better than Macy's or DSW. Yesterday, I walked around with two pairs of shoes in my hand trying to get someone to make eye contact and help. No such luck, they weren't even that busy. I walked out empty handed. I've learned if you care a lot about fit and are looking for athletic shoes, you're much better off going to Fleet Feet. read more

Great option for finding difficult to get shoes! Go to place for anyone with wide feet

After years of buying Crocs, I decided I needed to purchase a pair of walking/running shoes. With previous recommendations of a friend, I started out by going to Alan's. The Speedway location just happened to be convient that day and I checked it out. WIth my husband by my side I was asked many questions and felt like the sale staff were able to find the right shoe for me. I have since purchased additional pairs of shoes, but since that first purchase I will always have a fondess for this location. It seems there are always promotions in the paper for Alan Shoe's or Groupon promotions. Keep a eye open for them. It's nice to go in, knowing not only are you getting a deal, but the staff will provide a valuable service to you as a customer. My husband was really impressed with the knowledge of the staff; it just was a professional experience from start to finish and every visit since. Check them out. read more

Allen's shoes has professional salesmen who have been working there for many years and know how to fit the customers footwear properly. I have an Incomplete spinal Cord injury with severe neuropathy in my feet. I am able to walk with a rollater walker, but My shoes didn't seem to offer enough support even though they were a good brand, so this limited my enjoyment. I went to Alan's shoes on the recommendation of a friend, and A kind gentleman spent a great deal of time helping me pick a high Quality, supportive pair of New Balance running shoes with lots of cushioning to walk in. He patiently took a lot time to fit me perfectly! I was able to acquire a pair of stretch laces that I can tighten with a simple clip. Now I have the most comfort and support shoes I've had in years! In the past, I've gone to mall stores with young people who tell me "oh it's a great fit" without measuring my feet or bothering to take the time to help me find the right size and width, so I honestly forgot what it felt like to have well fitting shoes. Choosing to buy my shoes at Alan's shoes provided not only a great outcome, but a wonderful experience. Yes, I paid a little more than I usually do, but clearly using this high end shoe store with quality merchandise is worth it. I'll save money in the long end by not having to buy multiple pairs in the attempt to find something "right ". I am sold on this shoe store. Next time I need footwear I know exactly where to go. read more

Wow-- I was greeted immediately by Marci, the assistant manager of the store. She let me look around and I found a couple of shoes that I liked. She suggested some socks too, which I love. I will be back! read more
