I have to give a 1 star because I can't give 0 stars. Ordered my son some boots from here for Easter. Placed order 4-16 and paid for 2 day shipping. Had to call to get the tracking info. Tracking number at UPS said label was created but they didn't have the boots. Called cowtown boots on 4-18 and was told the boots were shipped on 4-17. I grew up working in a western store in Southeastern Missouri, and Cowtown Boots is a great local place to get western boots, hats, belts, shirts & jeans. I enjoyed the staff giving me some space to wander around without the constant hassle I get at other stores. They stayed available but not pushy. I saw this store from the frontage road and decided to turn into the store on 8/2/2019, to browse for boots. One of the worst experiences at a store that I've ever had! Upon my arrival, I saw 4 women employees standing at the front of the store talking. I went into find a ladies pair of boots. One lady told me about sizes, which didn't make any sense to me, since I have never bought a pair of western boots before. Another woman approached me while I was attempting to try on boots and made rude comments towards me regarding, "I wouldn't want you to blow a gasket or vein trying on boots, as well as other negative comments about my age and my medical status. I think she thought she was funny. I didn't laugh! I am currently struggling with stage 4 cancer and I'm losing the battle. All I wanted to do was receive courteous help and get a pair of boots that would fit. I've never been so embarrassed or humiliated in my life! I would never recommend this business to anyone. Being poked at because of age or medical issues is against the law and extremely hurtful! This staff should be educated on how to help people chose sizes, including actually walking around with the customer and picking out different boots for them to try on and how to be courteous towards potential buyers! They seemed to have a lot of time to stand around in the front of the store to talk. read more

If I could give this establishment a lower score I would. We visited Sunday my husband was shopping for a new straw hat and shirts. As soon as we walked in the cashier attendant stared at us head to toe and to keep it in a few words. My husband and I experienced a "Pretty Woman" Moment. You guys, I wanted to love this place. I planned to spend a chunk of change on really nice boots, but even though I was the ONLY customer in there for the majority of the time (at like 4pm on a Tuesday), I was ignored and then treated pretty badly. I don't know if it's because I dress sort of "alternative rock" and not authentically country and western, but I was not made to feel welcome. I was sort of talked down to when I asked the woman working questions about boot sizing. When I told her I needed a smaller size because the boot she gave me was the wrong size, she suggested I "double sock" it--but the boot was clearly at least one entire size too big for me. There was another (older) female customer shopping and she actually asked me questions because none of the employees seemed to want to assist. To make matters worse, when I was done, the cashier asked me if I found what I was looking for and when I said, "No, I didn't actually.." she said "Oh." and wouldn't say anything else! Most people might have asked what it was they could have helped me with, but not at grumpy Cowtown. Don't see myself going back anytime soon. This place is actually pretty cool!! My friend ALL THE WAY IN HAWAII recommended this place to me. They do not have a big selection of boots for Yankee gals like me but it's okay I totally loved their clothes and jewelry. If you are a fan of country outfitter then have no fear they have a lot of the same clothes and jewelry that the website has. But the cool thing is that it's cheaper!!! To be completely honest I wish I could have gotten more stuff here but it was the beginning of my trip and I was waiting for other stores. The prices for the clothes and jewelry are cheaper than most but their boots are not cheaper. I was still happy with all of my purchases, I was able to get my husband's Christmas presents here!!! Great place even though I am not country in any way. Came here with my family to buy boots for my sister in law's wedding. The older gentleman was very kind and helped us find shoes for me and the kids. He was slightly patronizing when he corrected me advising that I was looking for boots not shoes as I incorrectly indicated. I'm also pretty sure he located the most expensive boots, for me. We needed boots for everyone for a wedding and did not want to spend a lot of money since we were already flying away and staying in a hotel and required to bring a gift, etc. Anyways, the boots needed to be attractive and good-looking for the special day and we needed four pairs. We pleased everybody in our party with new boots, some fancy, some not so much, but all perfect for a Texas style celebration!! I went in here for the first time last week to buy a 2 year old boots for her birthday. Of course I guessed the wrong size and I had to go back to exchange them. The three ladies in the store were absolutely no help and treated me as if I were stupid.
