I stopped in just before closing didnt have time to do a deep dive but I like how helpful and welcoming the employees were. They have 2 stores with various options from furs to gala dresses. I wish I had time to really shop and look around but the time I spent in there I noticed they aren't only affordable but they have plenty of sizes and clothing options. Three consignment stores in the same plaza area with a range of styles of women/men's clothing, accessories and shoes. Not a large selection of plus size clothing for either gender... but there are options and something that may strike a fancy. I scored a beautiful pair of shoes, handbag and a top. Friendly staff and organized store. Prices are on the higher end for used/ consignment wear... there are a few name brands that can justify it and a few that may miss the mark for value. As many have said in their reviews, I didn't get a very fuzzy welcome as I walked in, and it wasn't that busy. I can only chalk it up to how I was dressed - been working outside in the garden in the morning and thought I'd check the store out while I cool down. The store layout was really easy to find items and signage was good. Pricing was a bit high for me, but I did find one cute blouse to purchase to support this local business. Give it a try. What an amazing little shop...well actually they have 3 different shops all in 1 location. It is a resale/consignment high end boutique. They have quite a variety of designer clothing items, shoes, purses, belts, jewelry and various other items. All sizes are available but bring your pocketbook because many of these are designer items and priced accordingly. It's located at Swan and Ft Lowell in Plaza Palamino shopping center. I just had a wild experience here. I was looking at purses, when one of the employees without saying a word grabbed all of the purses off the hangers I was actively looking at , pulled them all away from me to show another customer. After I looked at her she said "sorry". I'm appalled. I walked out without buying anything because I refuse to spend money where I'm treated less than. With my Prada purse mind you, and the customer she pulled the purses for didn't end up buying anything. Karma. Will not be back. read more

Was visiting Tucson for the day and friends took us to this store, I actually thought it was cute and I found a couple cute items, the prices seemed fair also. The ladies at the main store were really pleasant and friendly to all their customers. When leaving, we realized there's a smaller store across the main one that seems to have more higher end items so we walked it and immediately noticed there's a little chihuahua behind the counter and as we (4 ladies) walked in, we all started talking about how cute he was and started talking to the dog, one of us made a kissing sound to the dog and the woman working there said "she gets very angry when you make that noise". Excuse me?? That's how you greet customers? The person that made that noise apologized and we continued to walk around and look at items. The woman working there didn't say anything to any of us, just stood and stared at us. She continued to be extremely dismissive about any items we asked about. Truly a shame that the same company can have two locations and the customer experience is so different at both. read more

When I visit Tucson, will make it a point to stop by this consignment store. Lots to look at with a nice variety of designer clothing, purses, shoes and so much more. Carry designers like Johnny Was, Gianni Versace, Diane Von Furstenberg-on the high end and other clothing brands like J Crew, Nike, Levi, etc. Plus nice handbags, jewelry and accessories. I have consigned and purchased from The Green Monkey for over a year. The owner and her wonderful assistant, Whitney, are exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and above all - HONEST. The store is clean and beautifully arranged, making it a pleasure to shop in. Their merchandise is upscale, many times unique, and always in excellent condition. The lady working there hardly said a word she couldn't even bring herself to talk about the weather. I asked a few questions regarding some items but her answers were cold and short. The Green Monkey is a well organized, clean, women's clothing consignment shop. The staff are courteous and offer to put your clothing selections into the dressing room for you. When I went here the other day, I was killing time. But I saw some wonderful jeans that I loved in my size area. I don't think the staff knows sizing though, because when I went to try them on they were all 2 sizes +/- off even though they were in the same area. So I wandered over to the shoe section and I was very saddened by the lack of small sizes, no small feet around here. The size 6s were desperately low so small feet should keep on walking. I did end up buying a sweater but I don't think I'll be back. read more

This place is within walking distance from my house, and I love it. Recycled clothes lift me out of the habit of spending too much on new clothes imported from places with slave labor. The selections are excellent, and in general only very high quality clothing, shoes and jewelry are accepted. Look at things carefully though. I recently bought a blouse I love, only to find a fraying seam on the cuff. It is being repaired by a seamstress and the cost of the repair was low. I would still have bought the blouse had I known the flaws, but I wish I had known. It is great to be able to buy in a lovely store again. read more

Love this shop when I discovered it on my trips to Tucson visiting my son and his family. It's right next to the Whole Foods and nail salon so I've stopped there many times. My last trip in March, I found so many beautiful items and accessories priced so well and brand new. The staff is very friendly. The store is very well organized by category. I spent quite a bit of money there but no guilt because of the fine things I was able to purchase and even purchased a signed children's book for my granddaughter. I have had experience dealing with other consignment shops in Tucson. I have found that they are hit or miss with inventory and clothing they will accept. I have found this shop to be less than friendly, especially to consignors. I have brought almost new items in and watched them turn their nose up. I am very careful to bring things that are not "donate only" items. I have had nothing active in the store since March, 2018. Since I heard nothing on the status of my items, I stopped in to get my check and was told that I missed the pay-out time for the month (by 3 days). Now I have to wait until November 15 before they pay out again. The $2 charge to write you a check for your money is ridiculous as well. I am done dealing with this store and will continue dealing with Post Boutique instead. Much easier to do business with and very friendly staff. read more

Hmmm, I guess I'm not sure what others are looking for when they walk into a shop like this, but personally, I was impressed. After being given nothing but, "You're not quite cool enough for us" attitude at places like Buffalo Exchange, the Green Monkey was such a different experience. I went there to see if they wanted some nice designer dresses I had. The ladies there were polite, helpful and not overbearing or snooty. I was surprised to see the really fun range of choices of clothing in the store, after reading some of the other reviews. Honestly, if I didn't have to run back to work, I could have happily spent hours looking around. There were lots of nice things that caught my eye! They took my designer Italian dress (original cost $350), another pricey evening number I had, and a lovely silk piece. I thought they were pretty savvy when it came to choosing which pieces of mine to take, and which not to. Straight off the bat I saw some totally adorable cut-off type jean shorts, that any young woman with a sassy behind would look good in (although not for me personally), so I'm not sure why anyone would say they don't have younger styles. In fact I thought there was a very wide variety of styles...fun to chic. I almost didn't go there, due to some of the other reviews. I am glad that I decided to see for myself. I am happy to think that someone out there will get a great deal on that sweet and sexy Italian evening number. I am also glad to be doing business with the ladies there. They were professional, organized and there was no "monkey business", (hee hee, had to squeeze that in). So, as with all things, maybe the best advice is go see for yourself. My wife and I went inside to the business to look at some dresses she was interested in when walking by and no one greeted us. one lady behind service counter and the other lady putting clothes away and organizing. They both looked at us and didn't even say welcome or how can we help you? Seriously, my opinion, this side of town is way over rated and to completely ignore an intension of a buying customer, is unsettling. I guess they do ok as it is and don't need sales or new customers. This city and this part of town is in no way Beverly Hills or Malibu. To not welcome someone as they come into your business, shows you truly dont care for your customers and your business. No way are we returning here. I consigned some nice items and sold a few. The people were Ok at all times...but, when I came to pick up my items at the end of the 3 months, they had been tossed, not even folded, into a brown grocery bag. I wasn't happy with this since I had brought them in originally both clean and wrinkle free. They had told me that the check for sold items would be given to me at that time, but, after consulting several people about the whereabouts of my check, they told me they would mail it to me on the 15th of the next month, almost a month away. They never mailed it, and I had to pick it up minus the $2 they charge for writing a check. Since their inventory depends on consignment, they take a healthy percentage of the sale... why the $2 charge. read more

Poor service with payment to consigners. 2 trips to obtain promised check with no check written yet!!! Waiting payment since January. They also charge you an extra $2.00 dollars just to pay you!!! I just had my first experience with the Green Monkey Boutique, and I thought it was first rate in all areas. The store is nicely set up, with many fun outfits displayed...very inviting. I consigned several things there, and over half of them sold. I found Jennifer, Melissa and Claudia all helpful, cordial and professional at all times. I did not have the experience that others complained about...that when they picked up their items that did not sell, they were jammed in shopping bags. Consignment shops are as endemic as charter schools in Tucson, and just as hit-and-miss. The Green Monkey's Foothills location actually works against the business. It is apparent that the management believes that its proximity to this upscale clientele makes everything it consigns, including ancient heels that would be more at home in a Goodwilll bin, somehow golden. Sadly, the consigners in this area must think their shoulder-padded terry cloth jogging suit from 1992 is somehow worth $40, even with the deodorant stains. To be fair, one can find a gem or two among the tired, housewifey MIA clogs and the hopeful, oversized Chico's prints, but not many. No low-rise hipster jeans can be found here, but many embroidered, wide-legged styles are available (no small sizes, sorry partners in skinny). This place has been around a while, though, and obviously meets the needs of the area's clientele. Stick with Buff or Speedway Outlet if you're clothing tastes are more downtown chic than suburban cruise. read more

Wow. Looking at the other reviews would send me packing. Maybe there was a change of employees. Walked in today and was boggled by the selection of clothing. The place smelled wonderful. I love resale shops but they all aren't quite smelling good. Yea, sometimes they use cover up smells, but not the case here. I wandered all around and found some very chic, one of a kind items. Lots of designer clothing. Norma Kahmali blouse I almost grabbed but the size was not mine.The young lady who was the only sales person in the store today was delightful. She was not overpowering and asking every minute if you need her to find something for you. So left on my own I just checked out just about every item in that store. Poor hubby was quite bored. They had some wonderful designer purses, shoes, jewelry. It is always hit and miss in these type of stores but it is so much fun to wander about. You might just find that something really special. Will definitely be back. Saw lots of items in the $20.00 to $40.00 range so it really is quite affordable. Purses like Dooney and Burke was pretty high. To be expected. read more

I stopped in at the Green Monkey last week my first stop in since they opened up again after the remodeling and was very impressed. The store looked great and not as cluttered and they got rid of items that should never have been there in the first place. The store still needs more items but that day the selection was great as I walked around I saw lots of name brand items: Dior, Dooney, True Religion, Free People, Gap, Tommy, Ralph Lauren, Lucky, J Crew lots of Coach bags/shoes and more just don't recall them at this moment. The clothing doesn't look old or ugly for the most part the clothes looks new and the best part a lot of the items still have tags on them. When it comes to consignment shops its always hit or miss with sizes I do wish they carried more 7 in shoes they have a lot of bigger shoe sizes but I guess its what is in demand. I would love to see more items in the store and I would love to see higher end bags like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi......Everytime I go in I buy something this time I walked out with to new dress shirts with tags saved money compared to going to the department stores. What I like most about the Green Monkey is the staff always friendly and welcoming (unlike the store on Speedway where I've been treated very rude) My daughter who is in high school and younger sister have also found stuff so its not just for older ladies I'm in my 30's and always see items I like and I would wear if they had it in my size. The Green Monkey gives you the best % for consignment so if you have items they are looking for I would give them a try first.
