I join the other 1-star reviews. This place has a real tough crew working here. I actually left here in a bad mood from one of their poor attitudes!! I donate at about two times a month to VVA. They pick up household goods, clothes, shoes, sports equipment, books, etc. They have a truck that rolls up to my house and I put my donations in a bag and leave it on the patio. It is a beautiful process. But I had some clothes that I "outgrew" and they were all nicer, name brand items. I was going to Miramar anyway so I figured I might be able to pick up a few bucks off my nice, clean and name brand items. I walked in and she had an attitude, but ok. She explained the process. All items must be clean, in good condition and within the past two years. Well, my clothes and Uggs were clean and in good condition. Most of the items were in the two year scope but two probably were not. I had eight items in total. I walked around browsing and saw a pair of white jeans with a stain on them, ready to be sold. Nothing here for me, so I went to Publix a few doors down. She calls me and says my items are ready to be picked up. She put my Uggs in the bag with the clothes. I brought them in separate bags and don't put used shoes in the same bag as clothes! Anyway, she said my items were either not clean or over two years old. Actually, one dress is dirty now, because she put the Uggs on them!! I do not recommended this place at all. You would probably be better off selling your clothes online or donating to a worthwhile charity. I have never seen someone who seems to hate their job as much as this female. read more

This is apparently a vintage place but it's really just a consignment shop. The staff is super young but they are also welcoming. The reviews are a bit mixed but I didn't have any issues. I will say that it's not as organized as you might think in terms of sizes. There is more of a women selection than men's just fyi. read more

After years of not coming here I finally came back to sell them some old clothes. I called to get information and they explained everything to me. They gave me a wait time and explained the process. When I arrived the girls were very nice. They asked for my info and told me they would call me in 2 hours. Sure enough about 2 hours later they called me saying it was ready. They only bought a small portion of the bag I dropped off and the rest they gave back to me. They give very little money for items but considering it's gonna be trash or a given away it's better than nothing. Either way if you planning on tossing out good clothes bring it here and maybe they'll buy it from you. read more

The experience here selling clothes wasn't the best . I guess everyone has a business to run .. I visited here to see what type of clothes they sell and none branded clothes . I checked it out before bringing clothes to sell . I brought Michael kors jackets , brand new Nike leggings , American eagle , and Hollister jeans .. all since I didn't get to wear and had to try to sell them unfortunately. They said "oh even though they are new .. they have small rips in the front" lol well that's how they are . I went into the store with a few items. 2 fendi bags that were basically new. A pair of givenchy sandals that I have literally work 3 times. A Fendi outfit from the Nicki Minaj collection. They called in less than an hour and told me to come get my items. They then advised me they didn't take my item because the items are over 2 years old and they could not be verified. I thought that was ridiculous coming from a "VINTAGE" "THRIFT STORE" in the day and age of the internet! I have seen nothing but bad reviews but I guess I had to learn for myself. What was most annoying about this place is the fact that once you come in their is a sign that specifically says something above the lines of "We will not take clothes with smell or markings" Yet I purchased a soccer jersey with the collar having full make up on it. Also, the fact that I went to sell a whole bag of clothes, and there is a sign with the brands that they an apparently love. These brands were pacsun Zara Hollister to name a few. I brought a bag with 10 items, seven of them, From Pacsun and three items from Hollister and none was bought everything was in perfect condition. Yet they have and so for men, basic blank T-shirts a bunch of them that are old. Yet they claimed my styles were outdated when they have the brands that I gave on a sign saying that we love them yet they didn't take anything. I would recommend to stay away from this. read more

It took them 3 hours to look through my items when I brought it right when they opened so how is this even possible the staff are laughing playing around not actually working or doing their jobs i understand they are busy are are you kidding? Do your job they are watching Tikoks laughing 4 of them here doing absolutely nothing. But do your job or don't work. It's rude and disrespectful to people that have things to do and places to be. Usually, I would have walked around to shop, but because of that interaction it made me feel uncomfortable. I was told that due to COVID-19 they are extremely overstocked and are accepting next to nothing right now. However, that doesn't excuse the behavior of the employees currently. I brought a larger bag of clothing, not knowing the new guidelines for what they are accepting. The woman behind the counter explained that they really are only buying athletic ware and shoes from women right now so I mentioned the bottom of my bag had lots of athletic clothes. She then proceeded to dump and unfold all of my other clothes even though she wasn't planning on looking at them. While dumping all of my clothes out she answered her cellphone twice?? In the middle of a transaction with a customer???? She accepted one sports bra and a small purse I had brought for $6 and some change. While ringing up my receipt she grabbed something off of the ground behind the counter and yelled to another associate "why is this here, what are we doing with this?!" The associated mumbled something back and she groaned. I had planned on staying and shopping for new shoes for my boyfriend even if they hadn't bought any of my clothes. After that experience with the woman at the counter and the extreme level of unprofessionalism from the whole staff, I took my $6 and left immediately (after I somehow managed to squeeze all of my unfolded clothes back into my bag). I'm still giving this place 2 starts because the ladies were still helpful with my situation. I brought two full bags for buys, I came back 2 hours later and the items they said they were buying from me were someone else's. We ended it up going through several bags, the clothes they were giving back to me had some one else's in it too. Situation was very unorganized. They used my second bag I brought for someone else as well, it wasn't that big of deal I so I didn't mention that. But they need a better system or train their employees better. Absolutely horrible. They never called me back and when I called to check in on the status of my buy out (5 hours later) they said I had to come in before they closed which was an hour away. I have never gone here before so I wasn't told it was same day or store credit. I came in and they offered $3 for a pair of shoes. I dropped off two full bins of barely used clothes from Zara, H&M, etc. Only reason why I'm giving them away is that I've lost 40lbs and these things don't fit. I had an extra bin and the lady (that everyone for some reason keeps complaining about) took the time to accept the bin even though they only allow one bin per person. She made conversation with each and every person that dropped off a bin. The store has PLT, a Zara section and other great brands. In other words it's not full of old lady clothes like other Plato's. Please read reviews before selling here, so you don't waste your time like I did. Go to Plantation location instead - different owners and they are so friendly and not rude! I came once before and was rudely told my clothes were dirty - not true! I mean, the lady's tone was super rude. It was awkward, when I said the items were clean, she said no they smell. Lol. For reference, I went to Plantation location right after, and they bought 11 of my items. So, obvi, I had nice items that were not dirty. Well, even though I was berated for having "dirty clothes," this location bought one item from me, a $200 dress for $6. I also bought an item from the store, no discount. I should have learned my lesson this time. Well, I went again, since I was going to be in the area for an errand, and just wasted my time, again. I was told there is a 5 hour wait. I'm not from the area and waited an hour, but I had nothing else to do. I could not wait 4 more hours. No exceptions to check my clothing, even though it was only one box of items. I think sometimes exceptions can be made if I only have one box of items to look at, it would have taken them 5 minutes, or less. So, I think you should save your time and gas in coming here. The vibes are not it! They clearly just do not care, and I wouldn't give my patronage to such an establishment, especially in this economy. read more

Just horrible and nasty people that work here. Don't come here to sell clothes they are disrespectful for no reason. Just by all the reviews and what happened to me I don't know how these people are still in business. I walked in with a bag of stuff full of H&M clothes most of which was all in great condition and recently just bought they just don't fit me also with a tag on one of them. I asked the lady how long after waiting one hour another lady already jumps in and says u have 2 people ahead of you you have to wait like everyone else I was like ok.... I come back in the evening and mind you I'm taking a 40 min drive each trip and they only want to give me 8.70 for everything. Earlier that day I looked around at their clothes they had a whole aisle of skinny jeans. They had a long sleeve clear top with a design on it and clothes with tags on it that now were sold for half the price. I asked her why are u only giving me that much she said well "we don't sell skinny jeans and this top is out of style no one's gonna wear that" mind u it was a see through top with a flower design which was recently bought great condition no holes or anything and they even sell this and a whole aisle of skinny jeans. Also there was a $12 tag on one of my shirts which means that alone was sold for $6 and didn't give me anything for the other stuff. The one shirt she took back was more out dated then the stuff she didn't take back. She didn't want to hear anything I was saying she put all my stuff in the bag and said now your not getting anything telling her employee not too cash me out at all because she's not going back and forth. And I'm pretty sure that was the boss (short straight hair) young looks like she hates her life lol I had to beg for my $8 back because I wasn't gonna leave with nothing I already spent $20 on gas and that was extremely embarrassing of how I was treated. The service was good from the young lady that took care of me, however I don't understand their buying strategies. They say they only buy no older than 2 year old trendy styles at most , but 90% of this store is old lady items with holes in them? This is for shopping, not consignment selling. This is a bigger store compared to Plantation, which is my usually stomping grounds. The staff is friendly. We went close to closing, and the staff were going through the aisles straightening things, but they still allowed themselves to be helpful. Plato's closet is excellent for the young set, but I find clothes appropriate for my stylish older self rather easily. I pass the stilettos and the cute midriffs these days. lol. The prices are very good, and they have been stable for a good while. Actually, thrift stores can cost more for what you get (thrift stores are getting besides themselves). The clothes are neat and clean. The jewelry is pretty tasteful and moderately priced. I am really happy about the young men's clothing, hubby and teen boy child can be stylish along with me (budget not blown all by myself)!! ha!! Recommended if you are frugal, a pretty big jump above a "thrift" store, in a good way. read more

This Platos is a joke. They'd rather accept your sparkly jorts other than your perfectly unused clothes. Their priorities are crazy. You walk around the store, and see items that will never sell, like neon shoes or shorts, maybe purses that look like they belong in the trash, but they still accept it over your new, sometimes with tags, items. Shame. If you can go a little further to another Platos, please do it. This is my second time stepping into the store. The first time I came in it was just to look around. I've never heard of this store before. No one greeted me. I said ok maybe they are just busy. I have spirit week and I said let me go back. I walked in and again no one greeted me. Ok whatever! right. I walked around for several minutes. There was one point that a worker was in an aisle where I saw a shirt I wanted. She exited the aisle in my direction. You think I would get a hello, excuse me, nothing! I grabbed the shirt I wanted and went to the checkout. Tell me why there were four cashiers and they all were staring at each other or acting like they were busy with thin air. So after one minute of them playing musical eyeballs I placed my items on the counter. I'm thinking maybe they thought I was applying to be a mannequin holding the items in my hands. No one said "did you find everything you needed?" Nothing! At this point I wasn't expecting a blinking thing. I was ready to just leave. Why I couldn't. The card machine is spinning, spinning. Two minutes of waiting. This other cashier walks over and says. "Oh the card machine is down. Didn't anyone tell me". ( I was thinking, who was going to tell me the ghost of Christmas past?) No one ever spoke to me. I didn't respond. I just pulled the cash to pay. The cashier seemed to be fumbling for change so I offered to get the exact amount from my car. I had the whole dollar amount. She took that and said forget the change. I just grabbed my bag and said thank you and left. When I say I would never step foot in that store again in this life. This could be the only clothing store left. It's a no!!!!!!! NO WAY!!!! I even warned another patron on my way out and she also turned and left. Rude, rude, rude people here. Seeing as I drove up from Miami Dade and feel that if your store hours dictate until 8, your store customer service should follow through the full business hours. I used to own a women's clothing boutique and I came in here to sell some of my leftover inventory. All my items were obviously brand new with tags and extremely on trend and chic. They didn't take ANY of my items, which was a complete shock to me since the store is filled with raggedy cheap clothing. I mean, they had the bags from Victoria Secret that you get for free with your purchase! The young boy evaluating my items didn't even take the time to unfold and glance at my items. How can you sell clothing to young women if you have no sense of what your target demographic is interested in. Mind you, I took the EXACT same bundle of clothing to the store down in Kendall the day before (since I know they don't buy duplicates) and they took EVERY SINGLE ITEM and offered a decent payout as well. I'm dumbfounded! If you love to adorn your body with unkempt and dilapidated clothing, this is your place! Otherwise, steer clear! I went to this store today to sell 3 pairs of shoes. One was leather booties never worn. However Tyler said that he couldn't take the shoes because the leather had a slight wrinkle in it the other pair, slightly worn he said he could give me $3 for it but would sell it for $12 which I find very ridiculous. I begin to ask Tyler what are the criteria when going through this buying and selling process and he started to become dismissive and actually very rude to me. His reason for his actions were "they are very busy" Smh! I then asked him for his boss contact information which he provided. However Steven who is the owner or the store manger never picked up the phone when I call. The customer service here is very low and I did tell Tyler he should definitely work in the back where there is no customer interaction only inventory. Terrible terrible service.
