If I could give less than one star I would, and here is why. I do not love the staff here, and over the years their prices have gone up and up while they pay you less and less, sometimes less than 10% of what they sell the item there, and they have several items from stores like Forever 21, H&M, and 5 Below where they are actually selling the worn, used, items for above retail. I checked out their yelp to see if anyone else agreed. A few people have had similar experience, though a few people have had good experience too. However, there were a few negative experiences and reviews that I remember. However, I finally made a yelp account to leave a great review for a winery and hotel I went to last weekend. I went to leave a review for Plato's as well after another not-so-great experience this past week (the public deserves to know, that's what this is here for, right?). I wanted to see the other negative reviews so mine wasn't overly repetitive. However, I noticed that Plato's must have paid to have the one star review deleted. I was gonna give 3 stars because they are kind of a necessary evil, but they have SOME good stuff, but because they are so generally shitty, they are now getting one star. So I left a review for Style Encore as well. As far as selling goes, expect to get pennies. Don't expect to pay pennies, however. Like I said, some items are actually above retail. This includes to forever 21 dresses that were priced at $19, that sold for $12 and $14 dollars. Forever 21 is a cheap, low-quality store, so if I'm buying a used item from there, I am not paying a lot. The staff also sucks and talked for $10 minutes while I was very obviously being waited to be rung up. The reason I like Plato's is because they have many brands in one place. I can grab some j.crew tops for work and urban tops for the weekend in one place. This I appreciate. While their prices are climbing and climbing with each passing day, for now, these items are at least still a bit cheaper than retail. It basically ends there though. It's sad how down hill this location and company have gone. high prices, awful buying experience, not-so-friendly staff. read more

Plato's Closet has gotten progressively worse over the years. I honestly don't know how they expect people to keep selling to them. I brought in 5 trash bags FULL of basically brand-new, name-brand clothing and shoes. Everything was in great condition, and some items were barely worn and bought within the last 2 years because I update my clothes frequently. They took an hour and a half to go through everything just to come back and say they were taking 5 items for a grand total of $19. $19. For 3 jackets and 2 sweaters. Absolutely ridiculous. Those items retail for $150 for all the items. What really made me laugh was that they tried to take a Victoria's Secret/PINK Sherpa raincoat that I originally paid around $90 for as part of the items they were offering me money for. Yet somehow, after buying people's clothes for practically nothing, these stores turn around and price the same items at several times what they paid for them. At this point, selling to Plato's Closet feels like a complete waste of time. You wait forever while they go through your stuff, they reject the overwhelming majority of it--even when it's in excellent condition--and then offer you next to nothing for the few things they do accept. I used to love Platos, but you have a better chance selling your things on Facebook marketplace, Poshmark, Vinted etc. The whole process feels like a scam. I'd rather donate my clothes than drive 35 minutes to the closest location and then spend an hour and a half waiting to be offered $19 for five items of quality, name-brand clothing. read more

I freaking love Plato's Closet, unfortunately I am not from Exton PA but this store has such great things I drive 3 hours to go shopping at this Plato's. I really enjoy how you may purchase items over the phone. Also follow them on Instagram they post amazing items they have just gotten in I check there Instagram once a day they are constantly getting new items in. The staff is super friendly whenever I'm in store or calling in to purchase items. The store is so organized which is great so you are able to find great items. My favorite time to shop at Plato's is on Black Friday they really find the best items that are in right now. I'm amazed at some of the things I've found at Plato's and it dosent break the bank. Some items still have the tags on them and can even still be found in the store. I really like how current and trendy there items are, my favorite item I've purchased would have to be a true religion hat I got at Plato's for 8$ what a steal, I stopped by the true religion store in King of Prussia and saw the same hat for 175$. I was so shocked but not surprised Plato's is awesome! You must stop at this store when you are in the area, it's so worth it and you will not leave disappointed. read more

Ever since I stepped foot in a Plato's Closet about 5 years ago, I became obsessed. The first Plato's I've ever been too was Springfield. I heard a lot of good things about the Plato's in Exton, to I decided to make the drive. IT was so worth it. I've been going to Exton ever since. The staff is incredibly welcoming. On top of that, it seems like they get better stuff then other Plato's. Most of the stuff I see in there I see in the Mall now too! I was just in there the other day and there was a brand new Michael Kors watch for only $60!!!! Since their store is so big now, I always find so much. It's crazy how much high end stuff they get in. The other day I got a like-new cach purse for my mom, and a North Face for my dad, neither of which looked used. The Coach purse was $40 and the North Face was $35!! You can't even get a North Face for under $100 anywhere else! I was telling the girl how much I loved this Plato's and she told me about their Twitter, instagram, and Facebook!! Looks like I'm going to be shopping here even more now. read more

Went in on a Sunday with LOTS of stuff. I had a bunch of nicer clothes and bags as well as some guys pants and shirts. The staff was extremely helpful and even helped me get all the stuff from my car. They didn't take a lot of stuff, but they offer ed me $78 for a few jackets and a bunch of mens dress pants and shirts. They went over the buying process and what they liked about my items, which is helpful when I will sell again. Other Platos Closets only take like 2 things, but this store knows what sells and has room for lots of new items. Other locations didn't know what an Alexander McQueen scarf was and wanted to give me 2 dollars for it. Went to the one in Paoli and got offered $6 for an all leather Coach bag, where as the Exton store gave me $15 for a pea coat. Very fair pricing and highly recommend! Best in the area for selling! read more

RIP OFF 1. They lie about how much they will price it at and offer you a ridiculously low price. 2. Most of there jeans are in horrible condition, especially stretched around the crotch area, I found this out after I got home and when I went to return them.... 3. Return policy sucks, no I don't want store credit for your crappy quality buys 4. The dates of the items you try to sell shouldn't matter, style is what matters. Things come back into style all the time TIP - Cut the tags off, not the ones with the brand or size but the others. They have a code that says what year they were produced and Platos takes only 1-2 year old stuff so this sometimes help. 5. I have waited longer than 90 minutes on a slow day when told it would take 30 mins. Sell on EBAY or POSTMARK, you'll make more and its easy. read more

They have shoes, bags, accessories, anything a gal needs in a wide range of sizes. In other words, it's not 10 year old Missoni in size 4 masquerading as a consignment shop (and I WORSHIP Missoni). If you are larger than a 10, you will find plenty of options here. There is also a small selection of men's clothing. Juniors or women who like to think they are juniors, this store is not for you. This is a shop for women who don't mind admitting they are over the age of majority. Clothes are arranged by type and by size, so if you're looking for a jacket, there is a section for jackets, skirts, etc. I was tempted by the most buttery soft ultra suede skirt in a light purple. But then I remembered, I'm only buying black and white anymore. I didn't rate this store higher because the sales clerk (who I know is not the owner) did not greet me or make any effort to engage me when I came into the store. In fact, it felt like she was avoiding me. When customers walk into a store, it's customary to say "hello, are you looking for something special"? Don't walk behind the counter as though I'm not there. I wasn't even rockin' the nose ring; but I'm not inclined to return when there are so many other options. ( As an aside, I've walked into Nordy's looking like crap on a tray and I've still gotten stellar customer service). Their reduced rack (50%) seemed more on the line of where their regular prices should be. The rest of the store is wrapped in plastic which makes dress shopping difficult. The have great dresses although extremely overpriced. On the staff attitude alone, I would not give them any business, even if I fell in love with a dress. Went to another boutique a few stores down, the staff was wonderful. My Mom tried on 12 or more dresses where Trish was patient and so helpful. They were welcoming, friendly and had a much better selection.

Donna took one look at my face and said, "I have the perfect dress for you." I'm between 12-14 and am working through some insecurities, so when she said that, I said "yeah, right." Donna told me I deserved to feel delicious in my dress, so I tried it on. My God. I looked and felt like a mermaid Goddess. The dress is a beautiful mermaid/trumpet style gown that hugged my curves in all the right places (I'll update with pictures soon!). It was affordable and very well-made. Normally, I would've walked right by it. Thank God I listened to Donna's advice. She is honest, smart, so so stylish, and she sees and celebrates the beauty of everyone who walks into her boutique. I felt like Cinderella and Donna was the fairy godmother (the Brandy/Whitney Houston version with the sassy and fabulous Godmother!). I could go on about our wonderful, h uplifting conversation, but I'll end my review with this: Stop in and say hi. See what's there. I guarantee you will leave feeling "delicious!"
