The owners hid my review on another platform, so I'll post it here. Very poor service. For the two years I was a seller (never buyer) here, they've continuously low balled me more and more, but to avoid the hassle of shipping my "high ticket" bags and shoes to the big online consignment companies, I sold to them. Owner Olivia and incompetent staff bait customers into coming in via inflated text quotes and then switch the price of what they would offer once in store. There was no distinct difference between my item's condition and what was sent via photos and the texts confirm that. They tried lying and saying they weren't aware the bag model was a small when the text states it clear as day. The girls who work there are not fashion girls and know nothing about high fashion or designer items, so they can only Google and pick the cheapest item they can see and offer it to you to gauge how desperate you are for the cash. I will continue to bring clothes to other Plato's Closet locations, but will never do business with Style Encore again. Beware as they've also told me before that they had recent "incidents" of people successfully selling them inauthentic items, so keep that in mind when deciding if you do decide to buy anything from there. I never purchased, only sold and all of my items sold were proven authentic with receipts and confirmation from Entrupy. Olivia tried contacting me multiple times via phone and text message only after the review was posted. I declined her calls as I felt they were not done with the genuine intention of trying to remedy my concerns. While texting her during the buy, I let her know that I was not happy with how the buy was going and she did not choose to call me until after I had already left the store and posted the review. I felt and feel this was as a result of the negative exposure and as bonafide scare tactic. She also stated I made false statements, to which were completely untrue. I am certain that the one of the owners will "respond" to this review by either making false statements about me or discrediting my entire experience, but they can't provide proof of any of what they allege (ask them to). Screenshots (proof) of my experience have been included for review. Please parse the screenshots and this review to see for yourself who is telling the truth. The owners may also try to say that the original quote to buy the bag was from Dec 2024, which is true, but if you check the April 2025 text when I requested an updated quote due to the amount of time that had passed, Olivia confirmed that the quote would be similar to before and even sent a screenshot acknowledging the same payout herself. Therefore, anything Olivia or one of the other owners state regarding not honoring a quote because it was from Dec 2024 is utterly false. Lastly, this occurred in April 2025 and I ended up selling my bag for much higher than what she offered elsewhere, and so were a few of the other people I recommended to sell here after telling them my experience. It also smells very badly in there, and I'm one of many who have stated this. If/when you buy here, do be sure to have your items authenticated independently of them. If/when you do sell here, do be sure to keep this review in mind when setting expectations of how your experience will turn out. Good luck. read more

Not sure where to even start here-- from the customer service, the lackadaisical associates and the straight up scam that is Style Encore.. I will never be back. 1. The store smells-- not sure if it's from the used clothes and funky shoes but their HVAC needs an upgrade. 2. The place is a SCAM. I don't expect to receive even 50% of what I paid for my lulu, but $6 in return for a pair of leggings? 3. I was told it was going to take 20 minutes.. 56 minutes later and I was finally ready to be checked out, only to be offered chump change. Of course I responded in disgusted, an the associate behind the register was unprofessional and rolled her when I declined their offer. 4. I took a couple laps around the store and was disgusted by some of the extremely worn clothes and shoes they were trying to sell. But you won't take a pair of my gently worn cheetah print slacks because they're "dated"? It is WILD to me some of the stuff they take. I have bought a Luis Vuitton wallet that I got a really good deal with that I absolutely love. However I went back a second time to see a purse that they advertised and fell instantly in love with. The website stated it was still in the store as well or the Instagram post. I drove all the way over just to be told " it just sold sorry but we have other purses". Super annoyed I just left. I just fell like it should be posed when the item is sold and taken off the website. So people aren't waste their time driving there just to be told someone bought it. read more

I really wanted to like this place because I had stuff that was a bit too mature for Platos to sell. However I was beyond disappointed with my selling experience. I brought 3 totes of stuff in: 2 of clothing and 1 of shoes. Some of the shoes were a tad older but I'm great shape. They wanted 3 things: 2 brand new items and 1 dress in really good shape. The Anthropologie jumpsuit still had tags on it for $150; they wanted to offer me $9-10. Are you serious? That's not even 10%. The girl explained they would only resell it for about $22 which I think wasn't accurate. I saw almost nothing in the store for that price, especially NWT and especially from Anthropologie. The used sweaters they were selling from there were $20. Oh and the boots that were basically new without tags and Laundry by Shelli Segal dress they bought? I got $8 and some change for them. The girl who sorted my clothing was nice enough but for the prices they offer for brand new and like new, I'd rather sell them online than waste the gas to sell anything here! read more

It's okay. I will say they offer a wide category selection, however not a good selection within those categories. It's a hit or miss for me. I'd say my biggest comps is dust. DUST IS ALL OVER THE DRESSING ROOM FLOOR AND IF YOU LOOK ABOVE ON THE PIPES AND CELING DUST. THICK DUST. Unhygienic and just disgusting. Plus when you are changing the dust is getting all over your clothing. The staff is 50/50 polite and rude, which I expect since they they mostly college kids. I have been shopping here for a long time now and from a different state lol. I live in California and have made several purchases via Instagram and have not had a single problem not once. It's risky to trust not only buying high-end items off of Instagram but to trust who your buying them from and if they will even arrive true to the pictures, every item I have purchased something it has been exactly as described and a huge fraction of the price even compared to resale sites online. Buying something you have never touched or seen in real person takes trust from where your purchase from, and SE is my go-to. This place is extremely misleading if you are looking to sell your gently used or never even worn clothes!! I looked at the website to make sure they take the brands and what's in high demand. I drove an hour to there Exton location and they passed on everything I brought, not to mention the staff was dreadful. Very unattentive, didn't care if I was a customer or not, they didn't greet me when I came in. I have ALOT of dressy business casual brand name clothes with no stains or tears, some of the items I never even got to wear so perfect condition!! I don't think they ever update there website! I'd suggest calling to see if they are even buying items before you waste your time driving to the store! I won't waste time or gas again to come here! There is a lot of good stuff here and most of the staff are great and attentive even though they are short staffed, but the pricing is way off! The cashier who rang me out was totally incompetent. I tried to explain to her that the Nike sneakers I found in the store were children's shoes (which do not fetch the same prices that adult shoes do) ... and she refused to adjust the price at all even though clearly whatever employee bought and priced them didn't know that, and they were asking much more than the market price for that sneaker in the same condition. She wouldn't even give me a damage discount for the scuff on the side (or the white stain I noticed on my black coat as i was checking out... gross) and insisted they were "priced accordingly" even though I've gotten damage discounts here before. It's the little things that make for great customer service and as a retail manager I'm very turned off by this cashier's complete inability to resolve a customer issue and the lack of practical knowledge in her own industry! read more

After a year and a half of shopping and selling to Style Encore, I stand by my 5 star rating! For starters, I drive about 40 minutes just to go to this location. I haven't found a store like this nearby, so I'm okay with making an evening out of it. Every time I go the sales associates are super sweet. They compliment my items and explain why they aren't taking some. After selling a few times, I have a better idea of what they'll take. Tip: make sure you're bringing them items that YOU would want to purchase! Yes, I would love if they paid me more for some items and I'm sure I'd make more money on Poshmark but they are doing all of the work for me! All I have to do is clean out my closet and drop off my stuff. I have a love/hate relationship with this store. They wanted to give me more for my Old Navy dress than my $100 Soft Surroundings dresses. I ended up selling the SS dresses on the FB yard sale price for $20 each.Also, they sell champion brand athletic ware that is found in Walmart! Champion is not a high end brand. Lularoe leggings cost $17 when you can buy them new for $25. No thanks. I did score a nice MK purse once but when I got it home there were underwear and tampons in the side zipper. read more

I'm going to preface this post by stating I absolutely LOVE shopping at style encore and it's sister store Plato's closet. They always have a great selection, and it's a rarity that I walk out without purchasing something. So on that front they do a fantastic job. Now onto my review. I have been coming here for years, mainly, since they opened many years ago. When I first sold items I'd say for the first year or two, they were fair in the items they took, gave good buy out, and truly examined the items. This week, I was helping my mom clean out her closet. She has MANY items that are brand new, never worn, worn once, and some with tags still attached. I took two trash bags overflowing with clothes into style encore this weekend. I warned my mother that they would most likely only take 40-50% of the items as they tend to be picky. "No worries" she told me. I took the first trash bag of items in on Friday when it wasn't very busy and was told it would take 15-20 minutes. 45 minutes later.... they told me my items were ready to be picked up. Fine. When I go to pick it up, they pass me back the trash bag, still overflowing and told me they would take 2 items. 2. Out of 30. They cashed me out and gave me $11. Disappointing, and surprising, but fine. I returned the next day on Saturday with the second trash bag that had all the brand new, never worn, or worn once items into style encore. The place was packed, so I knew it would take a while to go through them. I was informed it would take 40 minutes and that I'd receive a text message once completed. AN HOUR AND A 45 MINUTES LATER, I still had not received a text. At this point, I was done grocery shopping and sick of batting the crazy Saturday traffic. When I went to pick up my items, again, the trash bag still overflowing with Items was passed back to me, and they hadn't even priced the 5!! Items they were taking yet! Ugh. I stood there as the nice gentleman rang the items up in the system. As I'm standing there, the manager (? Not sure) told the young man, "yeah no, pass on those two items". So now the 5 brand new clothing items were brought down to 2. I was given $16 for a White House black market top, and two athleta items. To wrap this long rant up, I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the way that style encore is going. They passed on brand new, in style items. Not to mention that as I was waiting for my items, a woman was buying a shirt that was the exact same style as a shirt in my bag that was passed back to me. I will continue to be a shopper at style encore and Plato's, but am FLOORED at the way that things have gone with this store. They tell me that it's styles that don't sell for them, but by the looks of it, it is selling! I'm frustrated and will not be returning as a seller. Anyone reading this, I highly recommend you sell your items on ThredUP.com... they cash out just as well as Style encore and don't give you the headache associated with it. read more

Beware! If you have designer handbags that have their dust bags and are in excellent condition, you will be shocked at how little money you will get for them. I brought 4 in and they offered a total of $50 for all of them!! I walked around and looked at the quality of the bags the majority showed some wear and not worth the price they wanted. I had 2 really nice Coach bags that I hardly used (one was large and you could use for business). I also had a Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B. bag which they said they would sell for $50 and give me $12.50!!!! I wanted to like selling to this store but each time I came into do so it progressively got worse. Today took the cake for me. I had three coats and a pair of boots to sell and after the very short, rude and disinterested sales associate gave me the paper to fill out and told me multiple times that there would be a 30 minute wait. I dropped my items and decided to come back since it was literally insane in there at it was only 12 PM. I returned an hour later to ensure I would be in and out but that didn't happen. After standing at the counter for 20 minutes someone said "Are you waiting to sell?". Quickly I said no my items have already been reviewed and showed her my bins. Once they gave me the run down on what they would take and I retrieved the two items that they didn't take, I took my money and items and got out of there as fast as I could. Either they have staff that primarily focuses on assisting customers who want to sell or they hire more staff because there is no reason that this process has to be this crazy every time. It's ridiculous and I will not go in again to sell because the madness that comes with it is not worth it to me. If Clothes Mentor and Greene Street Consignment can have a flawless system then so can Style Encore. Shopping the store for clothes is not an issue but selling is a real nightmare. read more

Styling Encore - This is a wonderful store, with a great group of sale associates. So many items to choose from ! Some items have original tags on them. Clothing, purses, shoes, jewelry... ect. Second hand shop that is organized by sizes and colors, very easy to navigate through the wonderful array of items. Great prices, some weekends feature certain designers ... Ex ... Lilly Pulitzer.
