Lee was great with my nails. They were a hot mess when I went in and I have been to several other salons in Walnut Creek and no one has even been close to getting it right. He was great at listening to my concerns and making sure I was happy when I left. Prices were reasonable too. This place has some amazing women working their tails off to make sure you get in and out quick. It took my cousin and I less than an hour for a mani and pedi. They also don't skimp on the massage they applied the proper amount of pressure to truly massage our arms and legs not just apply lotion. This was my first time here and was not great experience at all. My pedicure was done ok the massage was not a massage at all. She didn't cut the sides of the nnails. My manicure was OK but she had streaks all on my nails and then she didn't even paint all the tip. 0after an hour and a half being here they didn't have the right glitter or natural pink which I asked before they started. Finally I said forget it and to take off everything the lady was nice but didn't seem to know what she was doing. I will not come here again.. read more

I've been to this salon twice and had similar experiences. They do a good job with the shape of the nail but do not measure the lengths. I had nails longer than the other on one hand and my right hand had significantly longer nails than my left hand. They also burned me with the file several times. read more

My daughter had gotten acrylic nails to play a character in a music. She has beautiful, strong natural nails that people are always complimenting. She was terrified that her natural nails would be damaged in the short or long term by careless removal. Platinum Nails reassured her they would take extra time to soak and remove the acrylics slowly in stages. We said we were more than happy to spend more time and money to reduce damage. My daughter was put at ease by how careful her technician was to protect her natural nails. She spend over an hour soaking, removing with a slow drumel type tool, soaking again, and then removing some more. She must have repeated this cycle 5-6 times after the first 40 minute soak. Her nails look great and she is relieved that no damage was done. The big surprise was that she still only charged $15, even with over a half hour extra time. We of course tipped her another $20. It was worth every penny! We had driven from Danville as other places had said there would likely be extensive, unavoidable damage. Now all the women in my family will make the extra trip! read more

I have gotten shellac in several other salons, it was not until coming to Platinum Nails and seeing Jada, that it actually stayed on! Now my shellac will last 3 weeks and needs redone because my nails grow. I was given a gift certificate for Mother's Day to Bollinger and my nails starred peeling in 3 days! I have been to Platinum 3 times now and they have been very professional and nice. Yesterday I took my 2 girls to the shop and had my shellac and regular pedicure. My kids had their mini mani/pedi done. Le and Jada did a great job on my nails. Attentive to details and made it a very pleasant experience for me. My kids were attended by Vivian and another lady. They were very happy with their nails, especially seeing the extra flowers on them. The place is clean and spacious. There was a conflict on the appointment made from the salon, and Le called to apologize and reschedule the appointment a few days before the appointment, which I really appreciate the kind of customer service. The price is reasonable and with the kind of customer service I will definitely be back. read more

I think the quality of service really depends on who your technicians are. In my case, I was set up with an older gentleman and woman and it was a very painful and tense experience. The older gentleman was extremely aggressive with the nippers and cut so deep into my cuticle that my big toe was bleeding. He made no apology but pressed a cloth into it very hard until the bleeding stopped (but the pain persists even a day later). The older woman was more attentive but she did not always understand my requests. Her work was very neat which I appreciated. The polish they used seemed to have too much thinner in it because the color was not solidly done after two coats, but at least it was neatly done. I will continue to search for my go to nail salon in Walnut Creek. read more

I'm sad to write this review. Le does an Excellent job, but isn't very nice at least not to me. For some reason he won't speak to me, not even hello and when I tried to speak to him he ignored me (not the 1st time) to which I had to respond "please don't ignore me" and his response was "what!" I'm not writing this to say they do bad work, but to be disrespected and literally pay for it, doesn't make sense to me. Now I have to try and find someone else who does an excellent job and who will at least say hello. read more

The customer service at the nail salon is poor. I made an appointment today to do my nails and I've been here several times. When I arrived the owner told me her nail techs said they don't want to do my nails due to the fact that I'm a picky client. I was upset and told her she should of told me that on the phone instead of making me drive all the way for nothing. In a business you are suppose to satisfy your client and give them what they ask for. Sadly this is not a nail salon that provides such services. I will never come back here again. read more

Still looking for a good permanent Mani-Pedi Place in Contra Costa County. After reading their reviews my friend and I thought they must have corrected the negative reviews and made the place better. When we first walked in we were welcomed by someone - Good! The place looks clean, Although when we watched them after a pedicure, they would just wash the tub with water only, no disinfectant. I gave them two stars as They did a nice job on our pedi but we were VERY ANNOYED when they start to chit-chat in their own language, looking at us and then giggling. Were they making fun of us? Our looks? Our feet? So I turned on my translation app from Vietnamese to English and these ladies were totally saying things I wish I didn't care to know. I wish they kept their thoughts of making fun of people to themselves even if they know that people won't understand their language. Their body language actually gave it all. This place is clean and spacious! I worked in the salon business for 8+ years and I appreciate the cleanliness and organization. I received a pedicure from Jada, she was nice, thorough, and gave a really great massage! The chairs were great, and comfortable and the water was hot. I called in at 5:30 and they were able to take me in at 6:30 even though they closed at 7. They had a great assortment of colors OPI, Essie and Shellac. Right above the salon is a ballet company, so it was a little hard to relax, but I assume if your appointments are earlier in the day, you won't have any trouble. read more

I started going here because it was close to my house, and I think I finally found my place! It's clean and the staff is hands down the friendliest I've ever come across. I've been a few times and only had Danny do my nails and not only is he so sweet, he pays great attention to detail. I've been getting coffin shape and he always makes sure they're perfect and symmetrical. I have been going to this place since 2008, but when Tammy sold it almost 2 yrs ago, I STOP going because of bad service by the new owner. Last month I decided to try someone else in my neighborhood when "PLATINUM NAILS" popped out. To my surprise its a 5 Star!!. So I read all the reviews and I was convinced that its time to try them once again. Everyone recommended or liked Le, but unfortunately he was so booked and he recommended Jayda, although I was kinda hesitant, I agreed. She was alright- Last week I called and made an appointment to see Le and not someone else. Last night I walked in for my appointment and Le was ready to do my nails. I told him what I wanted, shape, length and color. He made some suggestions, and I agreed with it. He did one nail first and I already liked it, no questions asked. Le did an excellent job and I will go back to see him again on a heart beat. I was very very happy with my nails, the design, color and shape are all perfect. Ok, I have been going to this place since it had opened and they have been through numerous owners, in fact, another new one just recently! They have beautiful new chairs, but I just had a pedicure that was so horrible my granddaughter would have done a better job. It was rushed and the women who did it spent the whole time looking here and there and talking to the other pedicurist. The whole pedicure lasted about 15 minutes. I LOVED that I could scoot to this place during a long lunch break or after work, but NO MORE. HELP I need a new place!!!! read more
