Went in for the piercing deal on Thursday. I wanted to re-pierce my right nostril that has been closed off for a bit over a year and smiley that I stopped wearing for about 12-13 years now. The service was super fast and professional, almost no pain, even considering piercing through tough scar tissue. I specifically asked to go through already existing nostril piercing because I liked that location, and the piercer did exactly what I wanted! The person at the front counter was very helpful and friendly that night as well. He helped me choosing the jewelry for my piercings and showed me two other pieces of jewelry I was interested in. Ultimately, I purchased a new earring and upgraded a nostril piercing jewelry to a colored pink stone. I'm super happy with my new piercings and how quick and great my experience was with people at the shop! Came in to put back my earring after I had taken it out in the other salon before my MRI. They refused to put my own earring back and told me to purchase a new one from their shop. In a few weeks the ball came off. I I have had my ear conch pierced for years and the earring that I had there NEVER EVER came off. That's why I actually came to the salon - I was not able to unscrew the earring myself and also I was unable to screw it back. When I called the salon they said that it's my fault that I can't keep my jewelry tight and they can always sell me a new earring. So i literally called to express my frustration that the earring I had installed in the salon a few weeks ago had already fallen off and after that I am supposed to go buy another loose jewelry from them? Worst experience ever. Nose piercing went smooth but the dermal jewelry change was horrible. I had a black eye, cut and severe pain. This place sucks. First of all, I came on the special and I got my Tragus pierced. The guy overcharged me for the gold when I requested silver and didn't give me a refund or a receipt. And then he pierced my Tragus with a short bar, so now 2 weeks later while it's swollen from healing the jewelry is damn near embedded into my ear. I had to go somewhere else to get it taken out and let it close up. Overcharged, wrong piercing and didn't give me any aftercare advice at all. Don't go here. Ever. read more

10/10 experience. I got my nose pierced and my second ear piercing. I was pleasantly surprised by how little pain I felt for my nose piercing (I would rate the pain as 2/10. My ear was a 3/10). I wish I remembered my piercer's name! He was kind, considerate, and super quick! I was in the chair for about 5 minutes max. I got my piercing done exactly 2 weeks ago. Nearly zero sensitivity in my nose now. My ears are still little sensitive, but nothing major. I clean it twice a day with NeilMed Wound Wash, just as they recommended. Seems to be working well! It cost less than $80 to get both my nose and ears pierced. A steal in my book! On Sundays, they have a $24 piercing special (includes jewelry). Because of this, the wait time is long. They have you check in from outside, which is nice, you can sit in your car with the AC full blast!! I brought my minor child to get her ears pierced. Came here for their Sunday special to get my third lobes pierced. The process was fairly quick and smooth. I thought there would be a longer wait time since it was Sunday but I went after lunch and only waited about 20 minutes from when I filled out the waiver form to getting my piercing. When you get to the shop there is a QR code outside the doors that you can scan to fill out your waiver. Then once it is your turn they will send you a text to go inside to pay. My husband went on a Wednesday to get his helix pierced. They have a special where you can get 2 piercings for $50 (instead of one for $29) so he took advantage of that, got a double helix. He got to choose from 3 studs (regular ball stud, or 2 that have diamonds); he chose the ball stud. We paid before hand, $50 straight. They took him into a private room, prepped the equipment, and the piercings themselves took like less than a minute. Then he was instructed on after care and we were on our way. Got my cartilage done here two years ago at night and came back recently to get it repierced along with second love piercings. Despite arriving exactly at 12 when they open, there was already a line of roughly 20 people. The line moved really quickly and as before, my piercer did an amazing job and work around my scar tissue from my first piercing. I would recommend bringing cash and arriving early! My girlfriend came in here to get her left ear pierced today (cartilage). The place definitely gives off the classic tatoo/piercing studio vibe, but people of all types were there waiting for their new ink and piercings. The location is small, but it had enough seating room for about 10 people. The cost of earring piercings are half off on Sundays so it was a little busy, but even then we were in and out of the store in less than 15 minutes (most of the time was just waiting in line to sign in and pay). I have to admit after reading all of the previous Yelp reviews given for this Platinum Ink location that were either 5 stars or 1 star had me a little conflicted & just unsure about taking my 17 yr old daughter to Platinum Ink to get 2 piercings done that she was wanting BUT after reaching out to one of my Yelp peeps Crystal L. who had previously went to Platinum Ink I felt better about it...thanks Crystal!!! So we went last Sunday (6/18/2017) to Platinum Ink & Darren was the one who did my daughters piercings & I have to say he did an awesome job. He was very professional & did a great job with explaining everything to my daughter & just making her feel at ease since she was very nervous. Most importantly all items used by Darren to do my daughters piercings were sterilized & gloves worn at all times. This Platinum Ink location is very clean & open but parking is very limited. There are only a few parking spots but we just parked at the Savers parking lot & walked over to Platinum Ink since it's only a few stores down. My daughter got her nose pierced, which looks sooooo cute!! (makes me tempted to get my nose pierced but I think my nose is to big & not sure my work would approve, oh & I'm a wimp). My daughter also got an industrial piercing done. After Darren was done w/ her piercings he gave aftercare instructions & even let us know that if we had any additional questions about cleaning my daughters piercings to give him a call & he did let us know that he was going out of town & gave us the name of his coworker who would be covering for him, which I really appreciated..customer service at its finest! Helpful tip: minors getting any piercings done need to have a copy of their birth certificate & as the guardian you will have to show your DL. There is a discount on Sundays but only on certain piercings..my daughter paid $19 for her nose piercing on Sunday instead of paying $29 on any other day. There was no discount price on her industrial piercing. Another helpful tip..on Sundays Platinum Ink opens at 12pm & I highly recommend you getting there right before 12pm so you don't have to wait long...on our visit we were in & out in about 30 minutes but we got there about 11:50am & there were 2 other cars already waiting outside so Sundays are very popular for Platinum Ink. I went to the Burnet Rd location. I would also like to add that my piercer, Darren was GREAT! I've had a piercing through scar tissue before & it was AWFUL. This was a breeze & I believe it's because he has a laid back attitude, is humble & has a light touch. If you're in the Austin area there's a shop every 6 feet. I'd highly recommend coming to @platinuminkatx just to see him. It doesn't hurt that's he's a too lol. The place was balls too the wall with people but it wasn't chaos. The artists all seemed professional, I know my check in experience was great. I was even hooked up with free wound wash for my new piercing! They said it would be a 40 minute wait, I think I did half that. I was in & out in less than an hour. Definitely recommend getting pierced here. The ONLY downside is my type of piercing isn't covered on the Sunday specials & isn't listed as such on the website. Please update that guys. read more
