First tattoo in Austin and Mig did an amazing job. Great conversation and a welcoming personality made the two hours and the pain fly by. Highly recommend this place. My piece has all straight lines and they came out really clean and straight. Electric 13 has made one happy customer.

I came to see Michael Villalobos to do a tattoo of Donald Fagen from Steely Dan. He knocked it out of the park! He's professional, a great conversationalist, and he's passionate about what he does (it shows in his work). I also met the owner Paco, who was a super nice. I give him props for letting his fellow artists know they are appreciated & recognizing the great work they produce. The shop has good vibes, good music, and good artists. 10/10 recommend.

I came here in January (2016) I swore I wrote a review but I guess I forgot... I got my tattoo done by Giovanni (I hope I spelled it right) he was super nice! The owner was also there and was super friendly! It was my first tattoo so I was super nervous but they calmed me down and reassured me everything would turn out great! My tattoo was small and it was a heart drawn by mom and he did a GREAT job! Super happy about it! Only thing I would say was I wish they would have explained to me how to care for my tattoo after I got it they didn't really explain but I just googled it!

The first time I visited Electric 13, it was on a whim. I walked in without an appointment and explained what I wanted--an oryx skull with flowers. As chance would have it, the first artist with an opening was Paco, whom I later learned was the owner. My finished tattoo was everything I wanted and more! Paco is very attentive to detail and revised the design until he was satisfied with its quality. Several months later, I made an appointment with Paco to tattoo a coffee plant on other side of my arm. It happened to fall on my last day of work before leaving Texas, so several of my coworkers came with me. While I was initially worried that this would be an annoyance, the staff at Electric 13 welcomed everyone with open arms...and every single one of my friends ended up leaving with tattoos! It was a night for the books, and now I have another beautiful tattoo to show for it. Go here. You will be treated with respect and serviced by folks who know what they're doing. My next trip to Texas will undoubtedly include a visit to Electric 13.

Lines only...shading to come. Art and tattoo by Paco.

So usually the morning after getting a tattoo I have that split second where I see it in the mirror and think "what the hell did I do?!" Don't get me wrong, I love my tattoos, but something about their permanency catches up with you after the rush has worn off. This morning when I saw the ART that Paco gifted me with I was still 100% in love with it. I've never been so happy with a tattoo in my life. Electric 13 is a beautiful shop on Guadalupe at the beginning of the drag near campus. You can tell that their attention to detail isn't just given to their work by the care they've taken with making their environment so inviting and warm. Paco is my new favorite person (sorry mom!). He has the lightest hand I've ever been tattooed by...ever. You know that first moment when they say "here we go" and the needle touches down? Yeah, that happened and I didn't even grit my teeth. He's magic with a needle which I can already tell is going to be bad for my wallet because the only thing keeping me from being covered in tattoos is the pain, and now that doesn't seem like such a big deal because of Paco. Through the entire process Paco was amazing. He was attentive and made sure to give me his undivided attention when I came in to talk to him about my ideas. How he was able to come up with something that I didn't even know I wanted is unbelievable. I had sent lots of pictures of things I liked and tried my best to communicate my likes and dislikes and what I wanted the end result to be, but I never expected him to pinpoint it so exactly. I have a tendency to say "i like feminine tattoos" and then show him a picture of something that doesn't at all seem feminine so it's kind of a miracle (or just a testament to him being awesome) that he was able to read my mind. So far we've just got the beautiful lines, and I've got another appointment to do the shading. At this point, I'm not sure I could love it more than I already do. I will be telling everyone I know to go to Paco. One of my friends put a deposit down and set an appointment immediately after he finished my tattoo. He's just that good.

Love this place! Paco Cendon is as efficient and professional as it gets, and his work is amazing, as he's done a few of my friends as well as me. I can't go anywhere else. His design of my idea was better than I could've ever imagined, and he even added some texturing to one piece of it afterwards, which we hadn't thought of before, to give it a really cool weathered look. He quoted me a 5+ hour job that he was able to knock out in 3 1/2 hrs with awesome results.

My experience with Jason at Electric13 was phenomenal. I had a general idea of what I was looking for but really needed him to put in some creativity and he did just that. Before we got started we sat down and made some minor adjustments to the artwork and he got right to it! The tattoo was done incredibly well and quickly. Jason was great to hang out with and I definitely plan to be back for future tattoos!

Went in for a small walk-in tattoo today and let me tell you.... Nothing short of amazing. Derek killed it and the line work is immaculate. Definitely will be back for some bigger pieces.

Here's my tattoo done by Pat!! I really love it. Small, delicate and exactly what I wanted.

Today I went with two friends, to get some info, and check out the place! We were quickly helped and had all our questions answered. My friend and I decided to get our tattoos today and simple as that, we got them!! My tattoo was done by Pat. I got a small mandala-like flower on my wrist. Pat was awesome!!! I LOVE my tattoo and how it came out. Perfect lines! We also discussed options of covering up an old tattoo I have on my back. He was super helpful and showed me various options of what could be done. I will DEFINITELY be getting my cover up done by Pat! My friend got two small tattoos, one on each wrist, by Mig. She took a bit of time to decided exactly what she wanted, but Mig was very patient and showed her different things she could get. She also walked out very pleased with her tattoos (a small arrow and some numbers). Our experience at Electric 13 Tattoo was excellent! I would recommend them to anyone. The guys are super helpful, very nice clean environment and friendly. I cannot wait to get my coverup and future tattoos here!

47-year-old nerd, yuppie, first-timer. Decided to get something classic with my wife's name on my shoulder to surprise her for Christmas. If you'd told me even 6 months ago I'd be doing this I'd have said you're crazy. So needless to say I was looking for a shop that would treat a first-timer well, and I'm happy to say I found one. The shop was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They really put me at ease. Heck sometimes I thought they were laying it on a little thick just to make this nerd feel better but who cares, I appreciated it. Gabe's work was great. It's not too ornate, at my request, but a classic design, with great detail, and something I'm the least likely to regret (and I don't)! The design took under a half an hour, and the inking itself took an hour. I'm sure due to a combination of his skill, the tattoo location, and the classic jazz he had on shuffle, I didn't have trouble tolerating the pain. I've certainly felt worse involuntarily ;-) After we finished, he gave me detailed aftercare instructions, and told me about his two-month guarantee. Bottom line, I heartily recommend Electric 13 and Gabe in particular if you're in the market. Go in sober, ask for advice, enjoy yourself! EDITED TO ADD: the missus was shocked but she thinks it's great! Thanks again y'all!

I created a yelp account, just to write this review. I've never reviewed anything, but I would feel like an ass if I didn't say how incredible this spot is. We came in as a group of 4, later in the evening, with tattoo ideas of varying size and style. They were completely accommodating and patient. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the employees were very fun and friendly. Pricing was very fair and the tattoos came out flawless. I'll go on record as saying, if you want fruit styled tattoos, Eric is THE premiere fruit and produce artist(told him I was gonna say that, ha). I will absolutely be back and can't suggest them enough.

I came in to get a new fitted nose ring about a month ago I only needed a new fitted ring. I've had the piercing itself for 10 years now & I've never had an issue with changing jewelry and I've had it at a 18 gauge the full time. The piercer said he grabbed the right size jewelry after sizing . Showed it to me.. I said it looked kinda thick and he said it was standard size. I thought that was weird but trusted him since I told him the gauge size to begin with. Then I asked for help getting old nose ring out and this one in. He proceeded to gauge my nose with out my knowledge and when I pulled back and said "OWCH" he said it just needed lube because it wasn't going in and continue to force it in and was extremely aggressive about it and acted like I was stupid or didn't know what I was talking about when I voiced I've never felt pain like that changing a piercing. My nose bled and was so swollen the next day that I had to go to a different shop to get it taken out because I couldn't even sleep on that side of my face it hurt so bad. The next shop I saw said that he gauged my nose ring to a 16 and ripped it a little from gauging it so roughly.

I wanted to have "him" with me in some way for the rest of my life... enter ZULU. I am a hairdresser, and a wonderful client of mine said to me one day as we were discussing tattoos, "there's nobody on earth I'd let tattoo me other than Zulu". This is HIGH praise coming from this particular woman, so I looked him up. As soon as I went to his website, I felt an energy that I can only describe as "this is it, this is my guy", I knew it immediately. Browsing through his work, I was blown away. His meticulous attention to detail is unmatched. He is an ARTIST of the highest degree. His website images don't do justice to the work- I don't think any picture of his work can do his art justice. You *have* to see it to believe it. I had a consultation with him, and shared with him images of things I liked, and things I'm drawn to, but mostly I wanted him to create it. Several days later, he sent me an image of what he came up with, and it was a slam dunk, just as I knew it would be. It took 3 sessions to complete, and it is a MASTERPIECE. I love the art on my forearm so much it's stupid. I get so much attention because it's so incredible. I even met Prince's band The Revolution, and they were blown away! Wendy and Lisa couldn't stop touching it! Anyway, you get my point, right? So here's another thing... Zulu himself is an amazing human being. He and I had the most wonderful conversations and now he's my friend forever. Choose Zulu as your artist and you'll have more than just a tattoo, you'll have a masterpiece.

So this past weekend was my first experience directly under the hand of Zulu. Since we visited a…read morefew months ago for him to work on my wife's back, he and I have been in contact about what I've had planned for the remainder of the sleeve on my right arm. Because I travel for 6 months of the year the remainder of our conversations have been via email and also a 30 minute FaceTime consultation while I was overseas in place of a telephone call. Khani (shop mgr/wife) has done a wonderful job throughout of keeping the flow going and making sure that Zulu was available to discuss issues with me as needed. Zulu spent a considerable amount of time prepping for our arrival this trip as I had provided a number of different pieces of Tibetan art work to use for reference on my arm. After the FaceTime consult he fully understood what I wanted and that he was also given full artistic license to do what looked right and would flow with what I already had on my arm. He is only the second artist I've aver talked to that immediately got my concept and was genuinely excited about doing the work I was requesting. This was first obvious to me when we originally visited, but once we had talked and he started the work on the final design, the true light came out in Zulu. I arrived about 15 minutes early to the studio and just sat while he continued to collect his thoughts and worked to get the various pieces setup. We started with a fitting of the largest piece that would be done which was a full incarnation of Mara in demon form. Zulu only needed to resize it once and then worked on the angle and layout on my forearm (which is not big in any way) however, he laid it out to allow for the rest of the piece around and on the back of my arm. Once we had it fully laid out he applied the initial stencil for Mara and then he got to work. Zulu uses a rotary gun to apply his tattoos (as does Pinky which makes for a soothing sound in the small space). The beauty of this style of application is that unlike a normal gun that basically hammers you throughout the process, the rotary is more like a smooth flowing motion. When you add this to the extremely delicate touch that Zulu has while tattooing it makes for the absolute most pleasurable experience I've had to date. There was literally no pain until about the last 10 minutes of the session. We took a total of 4.5 hours to do all of the outline work for my arm, the detail in person looks unlike any I previously thought possible from a tattoo. His classical art training comes out when he works and his chair side manor is beyond reproach. The music in the studio is also spot on allowing Zulu to get into his groove and produce the beginnings of a masterpiece. I say beginnings because I can't wait to come back to finish the color and shading in November. Bottom line: if you want something that is truly a masterpiece on you as the canvas...than Zulu is the person to do it for you. There is no longer a need for me to search out an artist for my other projects, Zulu has a client for life.
