More than happy to provide more detailed information about my purchase of the jewelry in store , the insertion of the jewelry, and the and the date of this interaction to prevent this from being taken down so I can help others. I came in to get a new fitted nose ring about a month ago I only needed a new fitted ring. I've had the piercing itself for 10 years now & I've never had an issue with changing jewelry and I've had it at a 18 gauge the full time. The piercer said he grabbed the right size jewelry after sizing . Showed it to me.. I said it looked kinda thick and he said it was standard size. I thought that was weird but trusted him since I told him the gauge size to begin with. Then I asked for help getting old nose ring out and this one in. He proceeded to gauge my nose with out my knowledge and when I pulled back and said "OWCH" he said it just needed lube because it wasn't going in and continue to force it in and was extremely aggressive about it and acted like I was stupid or didn't know what I was talking about when I voiced I've never felt pain like that changing a piercing. My nose bled and was so swollen the next day that I had to go to a different shop to get it taken out because I couldn't even sleep on that side of my face it hurt so bad. The next shop I saw said that he gauged my nose ring to a 16 and ripped it a little from gauging it so roughly. read more

Last week I had a fever. A fever that would not subside until I got some *more* ink. Yes, call me crazy, but I had a week of getting THREE tattoos done in less than 7 days. No, it was not a mission or a bucket list thing to do, I just wanted some quality good artwork on my body. I walked in, on a Friday afternoon, to find Blindside artist, Redd, available to cure me of this fever of wanting/needing more ink on my body. He was very helpful in that he talked with me about my idea of getting a really colorful and bright calavera (sugar skull) on my tricep. He drew up what he thought would look best, I allowed him to pick the colors, and within an hour I was laying down and getting the work done. Redd is very professional, clean, and honest. He will not do any work on you if he thinks it will not look good, suite you, and/or the design is not up to his standards. He is very nice about making suggestions and is open with his communication as you get your work done. The shop, overall, is clean and cold. Any shop that is hot or uncomfortable I urge you to leave it now and head to Blindside Tattoo. Also, they are recognized as BBB (Better Business Bureau). read more

AJ powers is everything I could ever ask for in a tattoo artist. He has become very close to my heart and the art he has put on my body is so beautiful seriously I'm speechless. This place is a joke! We came in for piercings and tattoos. Our friend got a Tragus piercing. He messed up the first time, said "I can do this again" and than made her scream in pain! She didn't want a curved barbel, and that's what he gave her. Then he refused to give her a discount. When she asked him to remove the piercing he said "I won't refund you". She left bleeding. He gave her a paper towel and gloves and said "just hold till it stops bleeding". Rude, unprofessional, dirty. Stay away! The next night we went to another place. BlindSide is now "my shop". I have several tattoos that were done at another shop and are fine, but my very first tattoo was this blocky little cross on my wrist that was curved and faded unevenly. I know Siego from my boxing gym and he recommended Steve-O at his 1st Street shop to do a cover-up. The appointment was super easy to set up. When I walked in, Steve-O was ready. He saw the tattoo, listened to what I wanted to add, and within minutes he had a beautiful design drawn up. The cross was covered up with a larger cross, but straight and with some color for added depth. The line work on the script is tight. Even though this was on the wrist and covering up something else, Steve-O had a light hand so it really didn't hurt. If you want more tattoos or need a cover-up, trust Siego and his team. He only hires the best and runs a really clean shop. I'm going to the 6th street shop for a piercing soon and will be back to see Siego & Steve-O when I'm ready for my next tattoo. read more

I stopped by another Place just a few minutes before and me and my group of friends left. As soon as we walked in to Blindside it was a completely different experience. The whole staff was professional, helpful, and friendly. This was my first Tattoo and it was a huge decision. I know that they helped me find and choose exactly what I had in mind and I felt comfortable the whole time. Blindside has a clean and comfortable environment the have plenty of couches to relax on while waiting or your group of friends are waiting. It not only looked clean it smelled clean. Roman did my Tattoo and he was awesome. Like I said earlier it was my first. I'm 44 so I had waited and long time and had been a several places in the last 15 year wanting to get a tattoo. Roman made me confident in my choice and only of my Tattoo but with him and Blindside. Roman was very professional and explains everything. He had at least a dozen trophies on the wall from his amazing work he had done in the past. By the time we left not only did I pick out my second Tattoo, two of my friends with me had also decided on a Tattoo. We were all 100% sober so we were very aware and conscious of what we were doing. went for a tragus piercing over the weekend and not only did the guy have to do it twice but apparently he used a curved jewelry piece that's meant for lip piercings to pierce it because he ran out of the bar bells... went to a local shop at home for new jewelry who was appalled at how crooked the piercing was and said it wasn't even worth salvaging because it was so bad. read more

Hands down one of the most artistic and professional tattoo shops in Austin. After several tattoos at other businesses, this shop obviously takes their jobs and their artwork very seriously. I try not to judge a book by it's cover, but this time my assumptions were right. I trusted a younger guy "Red" with my DNA piece. He talked about his line work and color and charged like he was a pro. He drew my design and then quickly realized that his realistic idea wasn't turn turning out so great. it took almost 3 weeks to get back to have him fix what he started and straighten out all of the horrible lines. After two sessions and almost 4 hours the piece was still not finished, still look sloppy and I was still embarrassed walking around with it. I tried for weeks afterwards to get another appointment for him to fix it but was always faced with excuses and reasons why it had to be pushed forward. Eventually we stop texting because he wouldn't answer and I decided to get the other side of the piece done somewhere else. I give this place 2 stars because at least he made a first effort to try to fix his mistakes but all in all I paid $450 for a ton of ink on my chest that looks horrible. read more

I had an idea sketched up with Redd. The sketch was amazing, so I went through with the tattoo. It was a full side piece, so we split it between three sessions (roughly 3 hours per session). The first session I loved what was on my side. The second session, he ended up altering the design and said he'd make the original work match. It was close enough that I was okay with it. On the third session, however, he changed the concept entirely without telling me whatsoever. I now have a piece that doesn't match itself at all, with no way to correct it. I wouldn't have paid for the third session at all, but he gave me a discount for paying up front.. Never again. read more

I'm in my mid thirties and i went to Blindside to get my first ink. I was greeted and acknowledged by the tattoo artist when I walked in. The shop waiting area was nicely laid out with two leather couches to relax in. Stevo was friendly, professional and easy going. He had two other clients before me and he was the only one in the shop at the time. He never seemed frustrated or like he was short handed on staff. Before we started my ink, i offered him a 10 min break and he didnt take it . Instead he went on to listen to what i wanted. He sketched out my tattoo, understood what was important to me and i love it. As far as his technique, he was fast, steady and used a light hand. I am recommending him to all my friends and will be returning to him when I'm ready for more body ink. I will post a pic soon :) read more

SHIT OF A JOB DO NOT GO !!!!! I went on yelp to look for a place to get my friend and i matching tattoos. I saw Blindside tattoos with really good ratings. I decided to call and go in thinking what i wanted to get would come out amazng. . . I did exactly what i was told to do,i bought their raps, i even looked online on what to do so my tattoo could heal perfectly. When it came down for my tattoo to peal. . . It looked like a 3 year old colored on my foot. There are multiple places where the ink should of been where its not. I kept calling to get my money back. The person on the phone was short, NOT helping me at all on what i wanted. Not taking in to consideration that it is on my foot not theirs so i demand my money back. They would not give me their boss's name or anything then they decided to be rude to someone who is concerned they are going to live with a fucked up tattoo that they said they could do but didn't. The person who did my tattoo: Redd, got up from my tattoo which was still in the middle of doing to talk to his friends and see an object which had nothing to do with my tattoo. Kept looking at the time like he had somewhere to go. I advise everyone to look somewhere else. You will regret coming here. The artists at Blindside are top notch. I visited alot of studios when I was looking to get my first tattoo done. It was a big piece and I had done a lot of research and really wanted the best there was. I was impressed by a lot of tattoo studios that i visited that friends recommended and that had won reader's polls, but what really impressed me was that Siego, the artist that I had sought out at blindside, told me that the tattoo that I wanted was not the tattoo that i wanted. I was taken aback a bit by this. "Come back in a week and I will show you what you want", he said. So I did. He had modified my design and wanted to put it on another part of the body, my full forearm, and not my bicep and shoulder like I thought i had wanted. Man was he right. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to get in the chair that instant. He had another artist, Alfonso do the actual work, because Alfonso was best at black work and Siego was best at gray work. I liked this too. Kind of a team effort, and it gave me even more trust and ease knowing I was getting the best work possible. I went back for another tattoo a year later, the second one was designed by SIego but inked by Wisdom. I'm very happy with both tattoo's and how I was treated by everybody at the shop. Each artist's space has a flat screen and playstation and you can pick a movie from their vast DVD collection to watch while you're in the chair, or they have football games on too. read more

My son had his first tattoo done by Mr.Siego, it is some of the best grey work I've seen. My son took me there to get my first tattoo for my 50th birthday. I was impressed by the cleanliness and style in the shop. My artist is no longer there but I would still recommend this shop for the quality and craftsmanship of all the other artists. The only thing I could suggest they improve on is the "friendliness" towards the clients, they are definitely all business.
