The way Damian does business is shady. I had a tattoo appointment scheduled since 5/12/23 and was told it would be $150/hour and I left a $100 deposit. Then the week of my appointment (5 days out to be exact), I get a message from him on Instagram telling me his price is now $200/hour. I understand raising prices, but you would think he do that moving forward and not to people who have had a scheduled appointment for another price. Do not go here. Tons of other shops and artist to choose from in Austin who won't bait and switch on you.

Hand tattoo :)

Everyone was super nice and welcoming when I walked in! Tyco did my hand piece and it came out absolutely beautiful 100% recommend

I had a great experience with Collie! He created the perfect tiny tattoos for me. He was has great prices and is a very personable guy.

Went to Alli Baker and started my leg tattoo... got 2 black & grey roses which she charged me $625 for. Honestly the price was just way too high, we had agreed to a budget of 800$ b4 i set the appointment but i only had 2 hours to put towards my tattoo that day, so i went in excited to finally start covering this varicose vein... but dang, just two roses later & 2.5 hours into it, i was charged $625 with a lot of vein still left to cover... i definitely can't afford to go back and finish with this artist, sadly. I wish it would've been upfront and honest about pricing especially when i made it clear i had a budget and shared what i needed to cover within that budget. I haven't gotten a tattoo in years, but this send like a very expensive rate. The vein I have goes from the upper thigh to my lower calf area and as you can see, this is just a very small portion of that

idk if shop policy changed but Mark said $80min and the website said $60min. Just a cherry of dishonesty on top of a bad experience.

My sisters and I wanted to go get a cute, simple sister tattoo. Surely no one can fuck up 2 dots and a heart, right? WRONG I walked through the door and a man named Mark greeted us. (I only know his name because I had to call and ask around after the fact, not because he introduced himself to me.) He told us for two dots and heart, the tattoo shop's minimum is $80 which is fine but on the website, it definitely says $60 so that already feels a little dishonest. We went along because we have busy schedules and it's hard to get us all to get together and agree to go to the tattoo shop at the same time. Mark introduces us to the awesome Elijah. Elijah introduces himself, gives us his IG handle to look up his previous work, makes us feel comfortable, and builds trust. I think we are all going to be tattooed by Elijah but for some reason I am split up from my sisters and Mark said I have to go with him. That was immediately a red flag because a sister tattoo is meant to look cohesive and if I'm the only one going to a different guy, that's not cool. I'm internally freaking out. Mark reassures me it's just two dots and a heart so it can't be too different. Keep in mind that my only requests were that it be fine lines and that it be straight while you read this next part: The night before, I had drawn in sharpie on my arm to see what it would look like not ever thinking that anyone at the shop would take my playing around drawing too serious. Homeboy starts to use my sharpie drawing as a STENCIL?? WTF?? I stop him and I say "hey, I was just playing around with the sharpie, I don't even know if it's straight. Shouldn't we wash it off?" He assured me I did a good job and that it was straight. At this point I should have stopped him and ran over to be with my sisters but I kept going bc I have issues and I'm scared of confrontation and I suck. Like why would this man not want to wash off my sharpie drawing? Was it ignorance or was it laziness? IDK. Mark proceeds to use my sharpie dots as his stencil after drawing a new heart and I already had an awful feeling in my gut. I am in Mark's chair a total of 5 mins tops and he shows me his work. I want to cry. The thing is crooked and thick af. I don't say anything bc I know I have to sit here while my sisters finish theirs and also I mean, it's done. What can be done to fix it at this point? I walk over to my sisters and they are so surprised I am done bc it had been 5mins tops since we parted. Mr. Elijah has been measuring, using a straight edge, marking one of my sisters the whole time and proceeds to do so for another 10 mins just to make sure she likes it and that it's straight etc. He did this for both sisters before making any moves. I see this and I want to cry even more because I wasn't treated with the same quality and care and now have something on my body that will bug me and that I will hate forever even though it was supposed to be meaningful and sentimental. My sisters' tattoos both turned out dainty, cute, and straight. Mine turned out fat lined and crooked. Pissed is an understatement. All I can do is request a refund at this point, get laser treatment, and get a new straight one. This sucks ass. I'm glad if one of us had to have the bad experience, it was me because this was both my sister's first times and I would prefer they have good experiences. BUT MAN, the wrist is something that I will look at on the daily and IM PISSED. PS: if this was a review for Elijah, it would be 5 stars. My sisters were very happy with the time, care, and attention to detail. Me on the other hand, I want to cry every time I see this thing which is a lot.

Was not impressed with Atomic Tattoo. I had tried to call Atomic Burnet in the morning several times to get a time estimate on walk-in appointments with no answer. I drove to three locations before I finally found one that would attempt the design I wanted. I showed the artist a picture of what I wanted and asked for a few modifications which he did not understand. He almost treated me as if I were dumb when I asked to change a few things, it was embarrassing. So I finally settled for his design after he insisted it would turn out as I wanted. The tattoo itself was rushed. I asked for delicate detail and instead it was just shaded a solid color with minimal negative space. The placement was off too... way too centered on my chest with the birds almost flying downwards rather than out like I had asked. It just looks terrible, as if the artist were trying to get me out the door instead of take their time to give me a nice piece. Overall, I'm very upset. This is not at all what I wanted and is now permanent. Definitely not worth the $300+ and I won't be recommending Atomic to anyone. I'll be going elsewhere to get this fixed.

sick @$$ tattoo!

I went into atomic for a walk in tattoo. My tattoo artist was named Collie. I gave him a vague photo of the tattoo I wanted, he took it and turned it into exactly what I was looking for. He was light handed and produced the thin lines I was hoping for. He was also extremely fair with his pricing and gave me good advice for the shading and placement of the tattoo, which made the tattoo 10000x better. I will definitely be going back to him for more artwork. I recommend anyone looking for some sick tats to check him out as well!

Came as a walk in for my wife to get three tattoos and Jorge A. (IG: @koatlone) did not disappoint. He was meticulous and spent a lot of time making sure his lines were crisp and everything looked clean. He even told us to come back in about a month so he could do minor touch ups because he would rather hold back a little to see how it heals and add to it to make it look right rather than try to get it all done in one session and risk over doing some areas. Additionally, I went in thinking I was going to be quietly sitting in the background watching but Jorge was super cool and chill and talked to us both throughout the whole experience. He even fed us! Can't say anything more other than he is a super cool dude and (more importantly to why you are reading this) an awesome tattoo artist who makes sure the client walks away happy and his pieces come out looking the best they can.

My wife got her first tattoo for Christmas 2017. She thought a lot about it and talked to this place several times before she felt comfortable doing it. The price was more then fair for what she asked for. The artist was friendly and nice, answering all her concerns and questions. They had several artists books of their work you could go through to pick a style that fit your idea of what you want done. The place is large with many artists to help and places to sit with a tv to watch if you are waiting on a person getting ink. Super friendly and good work for a good price.

Lee Kennedy rocked it out, clean, light touch and amazing work. Super friendly and price was reasonable

Still healing but beautiful

I just got my third tattoo from this location and I would say this place rocks, I do have issues with the second tattoo I got here but it still looks great just the lines were iffy, BUT I just got this flower piece on my chest and shoulder by SHANTELL, She did an AMAZING job and she was very helpful and informative, this piece took TWO hours and I was impressed with the fact it looks so great and the shading was amazing. She is also a piercer there and she is just an amazing multitasker. Because I knew she didn't have to do my tattoo cause I was just a walk-in but she was a pleasure to get tattooed by and her music she plays while you're in the chair is awesome too! Overall I was very impressed with her work and very satisfied. Thank you so much!

design I showed him

Came here to get my 5th and 6th tattoo but was quoted very high for 2 small pieces so I decided to just get one. My tattoo artist had a poor attitude, but I chalked it up to him just having a bad day. He didn't bother giving me his name or card or anything, which is fine. I guess we just didn't vibe well. I showed him what I wanted and he seemed very judgmental and didn't like the design. Got the tattoo and it looked great at first, but after taking off the saniderm I can tell that the lines are very blown out... very disappointing to be overcharged for a tattoo not done correctly. also disappointed that this tattoo is supposed to be dedicated to my sister... I'd probably book an appointment with an artist who's better with line work.

The tattoos I generally seek are quirky, one-off designs that are deeply personal, but not the full-sleeve or intricate Japanese work that a lot of shops specialize in. After looking at a lot of websites and reading a lot of reviews, I chose Mom's Tattoos and I'm glad I did. It's exactly the kind of place I like, with a relaxed vibe and incredibly friendly artists. I had a specific drawing I wanted replicated that looked deceptively simple but was in fact very challenging. I couldn't have asked for a better result than the tattoo I received by Roach. His artistry is top-level. On top of that, he's an incredibly nice guy. I wholeheartedly recommend him, and Mom's, for anyone looking for a welcoming, top-quality experience.

I came in with a basic fine line design i'd drawn (a "salt infinity" or an infinity symbol in dotted white ink), explained I was very familiar with white ink and wanted this tattoo in white ink and have for decades - they said absolutely not and gave me the same tired lecture I get whenever i want something inked in white: it will fade, it wont last, it will look like a scar. I have been thinking of this tattoo for as long as these guys have been alive. I know my skin and how it heals better than they do. I know what I want better than they do. It was very disappointing. As an artist myself, I understand an artist needs to enjoy their work and want their name on their work, but tattoos are mostly highly personal to the customer and you're doing a service for a customer - that's why tattooists get paid and don't pay the customer to ink their favorite designs on the customers body. Why is writing a name in black ink better than giving someone a super meaningful, deeply personal white ink design? I wasn't requesting a hate symbol, I wanted a reminder to trust myself - salt is known for purifying and protecting, infinity is eternal. Having a tattoo no one but me knows is there still serves its purpose for me. I'm still looking for someone who will work with me on this tattoo before I consider others. It was the first tattoo I ever wanted and I'm not doing any others until this one is done. The final insult: "come back when you really know what you want, we'll get it done".... Man I've wanted this since I was 9, I know EXACTLY what I want. Its been like 3 decades and hasn't changed. Other than that, the place had a cool vibe, was clean and the work looked well-done.

This review is way past due. Last year, I was absolutely devastated over the loss of Prince, and I…read moreneeded something to help me heal... something permanent... a tattoo! I wanted to have "him" with me in some way for the rest of my life... enter ZULU. I am a hairdresser, and a wonderful client of mine said to me one day as we were discussing tattoos, "there's nobody on earth I'd let tattoo me other than Zulu". This is HIGH praise coming from this particular woman, so I looked him up. As soon as I went to his website, I felt an energy that I can only describe as "this is it, this is my guy", I knew it immediately. Browsing through his work, I was blown away. His meticulous attention to detail is unmatched. He is an ARTIST of the highest degree. His website images don't do justice to the work- I don't think any picture of his work can do his art justice. You *have* to see it to believe it. I had a consultation with him, and shared with him images of things I liked, and things I'm drawn to, but mostly I wanted him to create it. Several days later, he sent me an image of what he came up with, and it was a slam dunk, just as I knew it would be. It took 3 sessions to complete, and it is a MASTERPIECE. I love the art on my forearm so much it's stupid. I get so much attention because it's so incredible. I even met Prince's band The Revolution, and they were blown away! Wendy and Lisa couldn't stop touching it! Anyway, you get my point, right? So here's another thing... Zulu himself is an amazing human being. He and I had the most wonderful conversations and now he's my friend forever. Choose Zulu as your artist and you'll have more than just a tattoo, you'll have a masterpiece.

So this past weekend was my first experience directly under the hand of Zulu. Since we visited a…read morefew months ago for him to work on my wife's back, he and I have been in contact about what I've had planned for the remainder of the sleeve on my right arm. Because I travel for 6 months of the year the remainder of our conversations have been via email and also a 30 minute FaceTime consultation while I was overseas in place of a telephone call. Khani (shop mgr/wife) has done a wonderful job throughout of keeping the flow going and making sure that Zulu was available to discuss issues with me as needed. Zulu spent a considerable amount of time prepping for our arrival this trip as I had provided a number of different pieces of Tibetan art work to use for reference on my arm. After the FaceTime consult he fully understood what I wanted and that he was also given full artistic license to do what looked right and would flow with what I already had on my arm. He is only the second artist I've aver talked to that immediately got my concept and was genuinely excited about doing the work I was requesting. This was first obvious to me when we originally visited, but once we had talked and he started the work on the final design, the true light came out in Zulu. I arrived about 15 minutes early to the studio and just sat while he continued to collect his thoughts and worked to get the various pieces setup. We started with a fitting of the largest piece that would be done which was a full incarnation of Mara in demon form. Zulu only needed to resize it once and then worked on the angle and layout on my forearm (which is not big in any way) however, he laid it out to allow for the rest of the piece around and on the back of my arm. Once we had it fully laid out he applied the initial stencil for Mara and then he got to work. Zulu uses a rotary gun to apply his tattoos (as does Pinky which makes for a soothing sound in the small space). The beauty of this style of application is that unlike a normal gun that basically hammers you throughout the process, the rotary is more like a smooth flowing motion. When you add this to the extremely delicate touch that Zulu has while tattooing it makes for the absolute most pleasurable experience I've had to date. There was literally no pain until about the last 10 minutes of the session. We took a total of 4.5 hours to do all of the outline work for my arm, the detail in person looks unlike any I previously thought possible from a tattoo. His classical art training comes out when he works and his chair side manor is beyond reproach. The music in the studio is also spot on allowing Zulu to get into his groove and produce the beginnings of a masterpiece. I say beginnings because I can't wait to come back to finish the color and shading in November. Bottom line: if you want something that is truly a masterpiece on you as the canvas...than Zulu is the person to do it for you. There is no longer a need for me to search out an artist for my other projects, Zulu has a client for life.
