What a relief! That's probably not what most people say after being poked with sharp metal objects, but this was an overdue tune up for some wayward piercings that I neglected for too long. I physically couldn't get the backing of an earring out, which was causing terrible irritation, to the point that I couldn't sleep on my side anymore. On top of that, I couldn't remove my nose stud either, which had a less painful but still visible bump as a result. Got my bellybotton pierced here a couple of years ago and had always had issues with healing that went on for over a year. I tried everything to make it stop and treated it with the utmost caution. Eventually, the ball popped off in my sleep so I had to go to a shop in San Marcos for a replacement. Within 2 days my piercing was healed with no issue. The jewelry they use here is either fake or super low quality and my piercing is crooked slightly-- not to mention, [[HIGHLIGHT]]while I was paying the dude at the front desk saw me looking at my unpierced belly and said "I don't know why people look longingly at their bodies before, like the door is right there if you don't want it"..... um weird but okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyways this ain't the place to go at all. read more

I DO NOT recommend this place. My friend came in to get her side nose piercing changed out with a new ring. We walked in, and Crystal (don't know if that's actually her name but she's this blonde chick with a vocal fry and Ugg boots) saw us in. My friend explained that she wanted to buy a ring and get it changed out from her stud. Crystal (?) kindly obliged, and proceeded to pick, at random, from her piercing drawer. My friend laid down on her doctor's table thing and Crystal began to try to change my friend's piercing. It seemed to be taking a while, and my friend seemed like she was in pain, so I grew concerned. I then realized Crystal is swabbing my friend's nose with alcohol and it's coming back BLOODY. BLOODY. Her 5 month old piercing which was well on its way to being healed. This should not be happening. Crystal told my friend that her piercing is bloody because she isn't cleaning it properly... bullshit. It turns out, Crystal SIZED UP my friend's newly healed cartilage nose piercing. In other words, SHE PUT IN A PIERCING THAT WAS TOO BIG FOR MY FRIEND'S NOSE PIERCING HOLE. Please, if you care about your body, do not come here. I requested a snug. The piercer Angela never once apologized for the fact she completely messed up my piercing. She only said "this is not what I intended it to look like". I was not charge for the piercing but all I walked out with was a complementary bottle of saline cleaner for the hole she put in my ear. No discount toward a future piercing. I would not recommend using her as a piercer or even going to this shop for a piercing. I now ONLY have a hole in my ear that will need to heal and no piercing. DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE! I got my septum done by Kas, and all over, a horrible experience. I have a few friends with their septums pierced and they all had minimal to little pain during the healing process. The day after I got it done, my entire face hurt, my gums hurt, my teeth hurt, not to mention the slightest touch to AROUND my nose area was so tender and swollen it hurt to smile. I knew immediately something was wrong, so I went BACK to Atomic to ask Kas if everything looked ok. She tells me, "You must have touched it or done something." And sends me on my way with no answers. I go to SHAMAN MODIFICATIONS off 7th, (GO HERE) and the man right away takes a look and tells me its way too low and that its causing the excruciating pain I had felt for FIVE DAYS. He told me she didn't hit the sweet spot, and instead pierced my cartilage in my nose and that is why I was in so much pain. He recommended I take it out, because it may not heal AND it was WAY too low, you could actually see the hole when you normally looked at me. I called up Atomic to tell them the situation, and ask for a refund and a lady told me to call the owner. I called, I left messages and no reply. 7 days later. Horrible customer service, horrible experience, and thank  GOD for Shaman Modifications. Please do not give this place your money. They are unprofessional, rude, and do NOT know what they are doing. $80 later, and still no piercing. I do not want anyone to go through what I went through. read more

My sisters and I went into this shop for my birthday in search of piercings or possibly matching/similar tattoos. We were immediately met with judgement on family tattoos from 1 of the artists that just walked out after and spent the rest of the time shooting glares at us. They only have 2 jewelry options for piercing.... Metal ball or Claire's diamond stud. No metal options either, just surgical. We spent over 3 hours here waiting for 4 piercings. The tattoo artists were hiding in the back room playing the exact same metal song over and over the entire time we were in there and smoking incense in everyone's faces. They occasionally came out, made comments on how long the line was and "how is it possible there's not 1 person wanting a tattoo in here!" But there were 4 of us wanting tattoos that just got judged and ignored... Receptionist was so slow and absolutely clueless, she forgot to give us the 3 bottles of piercing solution we paid for. I ended up not getting a piercing I wanted because the entire situation was just uncomfortable. As a family, we still spent around $600 just to end up with infected piercings. read more
