Walked in on a whim after trying walk ins at several other shops turned me down... walked right in, explained my situation, got a couple chuckles and then led right back after being told that they do have a minimum and mine wasn't even close to it... didn't matter, the tattoo was the important part... long story short, I don't like tattoos... my wife loves them and was at her artist getting her new 2000 tattoo... she was excited to get hers, but kept starting her statements about her excitement with "I know you don't like tattoos, but..." She's right, I'm not a fan, but I love my wife, so in an attempt to show solidarity I went to atomic to get the silliest tattoo I could think of... the worlds smallest smiley face (looks like an acid tab... hindsight is 20/20 I suppose lol.) Staff was friendly and non judgmental of my silly reasoning for a tattoo... line work is good, coloring is good, and honestly seeing some of the artists work was truly impressive and if I wanted more tattoos they would certainly be near the top of my list. Decided on a whim to get a piercing. I've been to Atomic many times between my 3 piercings and 7 tattoos, so it was my first thought. Arrived to only one woman in the waiting area and thought "wonderful this should be quick". No one came out to see who walked in the door. But that's ok as I see the piercer piercing three girls. I wait. A group of four people walk in talking about what tattoos they are going to get. We wait. No one comes out. Then a group of 5 young girls come in. Talking about what piercings they are going to get. I'm still waiting. No one has come out to check that the door bell has chimed to customers coming in the door. Then the girls getting pierced are done. They come out and start paying. Not ONE WORD from the piercer of "hi I'm sorry for the wait" or "hi we are very busy today what would you like and it will be a couple hours". Nothing. Then at least 6 more people arrive. The waiting area is full. After the piercer is done checking the three girls out she asks one of the 5 girls what piercing she wants. WHAT! Hello. There is a room full of people. I've now been standing there 25 minutes at least because I am loyal to a business, but now I'm disgusted. It is basic common courtesy to acknowledge you have paying people in the room. Beyond angry I leave. No yelling. No blowing up like a psychotic Karen on TikTok. I left and went to Supernova Tattoo Parlor in Round Rock and Ashley did an amazing job with my new piercing. read more

Odd and ironic that my previous 5-star review seems to have disappeared... Despite having a wonderful first experience getting help removing a very problematic piece of jewelry, the follow up has been pretty abysmal. It turn out that the nose stud I bought is WAY too long, protruding out of my face like a coat hanger. I just want help with rectifying the situation because the stud I was sold is clearly incorrect for this placement. The past 3 times I've returned, there's been no piercer available, so nothing can be done, not even sales. They told me to visit the Burnet location, which I finally did, and no one there could help me. They told me to text the owner, who still hasn't so much as responded. I went to get 2 nose studs. The piercer was really cool had no problem with the experience. However, they used L shaped jewelry on me. The first stud fell out after three days while I was sleeping. The other one fell out 2 weeks later while I was sleeping. The overall experience was great but I'm not paying 130 just for my jewelry to fall out. I do not recommend doing business with Adam. I got a solid red dragon on my face in Jan. ($300 & we tipped him $60) Around the 2 week healing mark I messaged him that it looks like it will have to be gone over again, it was splotchy. I told him the issue is most likely my skin, but Idk. I sent a pic. He said it looked like I picked at it, but he wasn't sure what the issue was exactly. That annoyed me, I've been an apprentice & I have a lot of tattoos so Ik not to pick at them. But I didn't say anything about it annoying me, w/e. Then trying to get scheduled in for a correction was difficult, I understand being busy and taking a day or two, but this took about a week or 2 with me messaging him a few times and someone else texting him to finally get it done. About a week after we got it scheduled he texted to say it would be another $80 for the fix. We paid almost $400 in the first place, I don't think we should have to pay another $80 to correct it. To my knowledge touch ups/ corrections are free. But honestly, I would understand maybe $30 to cover the supplies to fix it. Tldr: V poor customer service and work/ over charging. read more

If you are looking for a piercing, do not go to atomic !!! The lack of quality they use in their jewelry is very poor!!! Had two piercings, now fall out because of the quality of the jewelry. If you want good quality go to studs, they at least allow you to pick out your quality that you want and give you options. So, a couple weeks ago I posted a review that was not a sparkling endorsement for this shop. However, I have learned in life that if you are gonna let something negative inspire you to put someone or something on Blast, you better reciprocate the same energy when that same someone or something does something redeemingly positive. I previously posted a review to make sure everyone was aware of my poor experience while reaching out to the shop looking to get a hold of the artist who did work on me a couple weeks prior. There was some touch up that needed attention which is perfectly normal. Especially when getting your face tattooed. That isolated experience was incredibly frustrating due to someone who didn't understand the value of giving good customer service while being paid to represent all the Artists working there. I opted to post a review articulating said experience. Within a few days I was contacted by management at Atomic. She could not have been more empathetic and kind. She took the time to respond to me in a way that was genuine, humble and understanding. She reached out to the artist I was attempting to get a hold of who messaged me less than 30 minutes after she did to let me know how sorry he was. He had no idea I was attempting to reach out to him. To quickly summarize, I was back in the shop 24 hours later getting my tattoos touched up free of charge. The experience was awesome!!! I recommend this Tattoo shop 100 percent. The artist, Sean Rakos, is incredibly gifted, kind and professional. The management genuinely cares about your experience while getting work done at Atomic. Lastly, I can honestly say that I will never get Tattooed by another artist so long as I am still living in Austin and by proxy Atomic has become my Tattoo Meca under the clouds. B EZ..... Oh my goodness- walked in this evening to get a tattoo with the intention of gifting a tattoo artist $500. I read that Atomic tattoo gives back to the community so I wanted to honor that. They give places like Austin Humane Society. Unfortunately there was no sense of customer service or urgency. All it takes is a little communication. I first went here to get one of my second lobes and a helix pierced. The guy who did them was cool but the piercings weren't the best. They were a bit wonky but I was young and thought they turned out great at the time. The second time I went, I got a belly button piercing by a different piercer. I forgot his name, and I lost his card, but he was absolutely amazing. The piercing went great and it was pierced perfectly midline of my body. He provided aftercare tips that were informative and very helpful. Even though I was internally panicking, their vibes helped me get through it. The third time I went, I went with a friend, and we had MJ as our piercer. She pierced my other helix and other lobe, as well as my friends nostril. She was so nice, adorable, and her vibes were amazing. My piercing, and my friends, turned out great.
