DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY. Unless you like someone who will communicate with you until you submit deposits on them then basically never respond after until the day before the appointment. I hired him for a leg piece that means A LOT to me with a very specific design idea in mind. He had me send pics and ideas and said he would hit me up to discuss two weeks before our appointment... never did. Second red flag. I went anyway just assuming he was that busy.. no he just doesn't give a shit. He basically COPIED an idea pic I sent him but worse... I told him areas I don't like and wanted fixed. Never fixed them. I remained patient and came back for a second appointment hoping for improvement... hell no dude. It's bad. He didn't follow my idea process at all and excluded key imagery I said needed to be there . He said he didn't do a sketch and decided to free hand it because doing an outline on my leg would work as well.. what a mistake believing that. I stayed upfront and communicated that this design was not ok and he hasn't followed What I told him I wanted at all. I gave him another shot and he promised sketches for work he never provided... made me move my appointment out two months so he could "work on the sketches" and go over the design before our next appointment. Low and behold he never did them. I asked three or four times in that two months when we could go over them, he ignored the texts. Few nights before the appointment asks me to move my appointment again by another week or two... I gave him benefit of the doubt and moved it. Once again, night before our appointment no sketches done and I ask again when we can see them... Ope, another emergency and we can go over them in the morning during our appointment so he can charge me per the hour to fix any part of the design I waited two months on him to do and never did...this dude is wack. He will waste your time and your money under the guise of award winning artist and gas light you along the way. Now I have a leg piece that is no where near done and half of it is literally scribble lines that he left. Beyond pissed. I say again don't trust this dude. This is not a trustworthy guy, took a monumental piece for me about my life and children and left it screwed up and now looking for any artist who wants to fix his work. REDD is amazing! Me and my wife Janie have been getting tattoos by him for 5 years now, I have 2 sleeves and about to do my leg sleeve. My wife has beautiful watercolor on her shoulder.. and other small calligraphy. I will admit redd does not communicate well but that's because he is always tattooing and when I am scheduled he does just focus on me and that's what's Important to me. I do see 3-5 people a day try and schedule with him in person or always see his phone lighting up with clients but it means a lot to me when he's just focused on the artwork. It's better to just schedule in person because he does not reply so well over the phone but I will say that when we are scheduled he is always there on time and always there for every single appt and ready with the artwork! I messaged him 6 times before I met him for a appt and he never replied but once he said to come in and schedule I did and he put me on the books right away! He's never rescheduled on me And I've always paid him ahead of time, I've won some competitions with his artwork and will continue to go to him.. I see these bad reviews and just can't believe them because he's always and I mean Always Took care of me and my wife and everyone of my friends that I've referred and gotten tattoos by him. People just want work on there time when it's not Like that with good artists. So just set an appt and wait your turn and you will Not be dissatisfied read more

Redd's work and character are amazing. Let me start by saying I've gotten tattooed by several other artists. I've experienced the full gamut of professional, inexperienced, costly, cheap, kind, and so unprofessional I felt unsafe. I was a little nervous looking for a new artist, but I'm so relieved we found Redd. My husband and I have both had many sessions with him. Can I just say he's cool as shit? My current piece is a cover up and he didn't just slap some new art over it. He took the time to get to know me, asked what the original piece meant, what I did and didn't like about it, and wanted to understand what the new piece meant to me. He had me send pics of things I liked between the time of the deposit and my appointment and then drew the art while we sat talking together about the specifics of what I liked most and disliked about the pieces I sent him. While he tattooed, he stayed aware of how I was feeling, and checked in on whether I needed a break.
