The owner made a list of our concerns and said he'd get back to us in the afternoon. They called back an hour or so and gave us a reasonable quote and we okayed him to work on it. I was expecting them to wait a day or two to get back and we were pleasantly surprised my car was ready for pick up early afternoon! He let me turn on the ignition and it was all better! We would come back here again for future as they have excellent service!

My car app showed that the vehicle remained parked in the same spot for three hours. During that time, no one opened or closed the hood, turned the ignition on or off, or opened and shut the doors. Yet I was called and told that the car was ready for pickup, only to be told afterward that the engine warning light can only be cleared at the dealership. I took my car to another local auto repair shop, got a free scan, and they were able to pinpoint a loose connection and fix the problem. This level of service and disregard for their customers time, energy, and money, is completely unacceptable. Run! (Photos for reference) Background- So I took my car for an oil change (super expensive!) last Friday and immediately, I too, had the engine light come on as I was driving it out the parking lot and didn't think much of it and thought it will reset. The light persisted throughout the weekend and Monday after work, took it back in. I was asked to leave my car there so they can take a look at it. So here I am without my car and need to get to work. I have a bad feeling about this reading some of the other people's negative experiences on here. Scott's (and they also own Carl's) staff is already trying to deny that they did something so I will update this post with the outcome of the situation.

Best automotive repair experience I have had…read more Christmas Eve, I called more than 15 shops. Finally this one answered with knowledgeable assistance and personable demeanor. I had to be towed an hour to get there. They diagnosed the problem quickly, had the parts brought even quicker and I was out there door with peace of mind for my holiday travels. They advised future issues that might come up, honored their parts and service with a warranty and have a very nice waiting room where I could work. Kudos to Kevin for his excellent customer service and the entire staff seemed to be friends and happy. Even on Christmas Eve.

However, the other guys did not install my manual shifter correctly after 2 attempts & having my car for over 1.5 months. The shifter when installed correctly, is supposed to prevent anyone from going to into reverse instead of 1st gear. I was told to drive it a bit & bring it back, that happened twice. The problem was never fixed. You would think they would work on it right away since they had already received my payment but my car was thrown to the back of the line. After literally being bribed by one of the service managers, which I provided proof to the manager, the shifter installed incorrectly & being without my car for a long time due to all of the errors, I regret the day I let them work on my car.

I get my oil changes at the dealership and they did that and after that was completed, the service advisor tells me that my oil pan was leaking and that I needed to replace it. The cost was $530. The advisor continued by telling me that the passenger side front axle had grease all over it and that that repair would cost $2150. I was suspicious and untrusting of Clay Cooley simply because of the entire situation, so I had seen online Dwight's & Don's Auto Care and I decided to give them a try. I met with Justin and explained my situation and he presented himself as a truthful guy and I decided to give them a try. Well, after everything was done, my oil pan didn't need to be replaced. It was the oil filter housing assembly that needed to be replaced because it's plastic and had broken. As for the front axle and the grease, Don told me that they cleaned it up and that the boot wasn't torn and that there was no reason for any further repair. So, after going to see Dwight's and Don's Auto Care, I went from a possible $2100 repair bill to a $400 repair bill. My Palisade SUV is running good and I highly appreciate Justin's and Don's sincere honesty. This was my first time in their shop and they took care of me like I was a regular customer and from now on I probably will be. He fixes one but found another with the lines leading to the turbo. Apparently they were covered in JB Weld and something else so he could see it for sure. I told greens and that asked that I bring it by so they could look at it. I had to wait a couples weeks till I went on a business trip. I called today to check on it and they acknowledged the shoddy work done while with previous owner. New owners kept the name and some of the employees but will not warranty the work under the old owner. Takes this review however you want but im not happy.​
