The vibes, the drinks, the lights, I always feel so fancy coming to Plat 99. Not only are the cocktails consistently delicious, but so is the free truffle oil popcorn. It is actually kind of addicting and even typing about it is making me hungry. Anyways, Plat 99 is located inside the gorgeous Alexander Hotel on the second floor. The whole hotel is an art experience. Plat 99 offers a gorgeous patio that is great for summer nights like we are having right now. Is there anything better than eating free popcorn with a drink in hand on a gorgeous patio?! I think not! Since this is a more upscale bar, do expect drinks to cost $12-17 dollars, respectively.

I have been here before for happy hour / drinks, but on this particular night we had a private reception for a work event at Plat 99 in the Alexander Hotel. It was stellar. We had about 100 people in from around the country, and it was a perfect setting to show off Indy. The glass lanterns are gorgeous and unique (but up close, could use a little dusting), the staff was friendly, the food and drink were top notch. Even the weather was amazing, so we could enjoy the outdoor patio as well. Hope you enjoy my pics. #ReviewsByRL

Perfect spot in The Alexander to take in some beautiful sculptures and enjoy the relaxing ambience. Jordan is an excellent bartender... pleasant, attentive and professional. Only wish their kitchen was open to try their delectable bites. Highly recommend- cheers!

Beautiful ambiance and delicious drinks! Excellent service as well. We sat in the outdoor seating and it was a pretty view. Definitely recommend the strawberry fields drink!

I also substituted a salad for fries if you prefer fries!

Plat 99 has the BEST grilled cheese in Indy!! I substituted chipotle aioli for Thousand Island but the main thing is how spectacular the cheddar and goat cheeses are together!

The ambiance of Plat 99 is super trendy and classy. It's located inside the Alexander Hotel. Lots of cozy seating and there's an outdoor balcony that's quite spacious as well. Tons of drink options because it's a full bar and they serve some smaller bites.

One of my favorite spots in the city! This spot is so special. Coffee shop by day and swanky bar by night, Plat 99 opens up to the lobby of The Alexander Hotel but is open to anyone. The space itself is covered in hanging, colorful glass lanterns that make the room absolutely glow and is lined with windows on three sides. They even have a wonderful, big balcony with fire lamps for people to enjoy in warm weather. Not only is Plat 99 gorgeous (and an amazing spot to take out-of-towners), but the staff some of the most wonderful, warm people in the city as well. They're always smiling, creative and happy to help you out. Here's what Plat 99 offers: Daytime: They serve up Tinker Coffee (local favorite), delicious lattes (oat milk or donut lattes are great) and handmade pastries (almond croissants, chocolate croissants, scones, etc). You are welcome to bring you laptop and use the space for co-working during the day too. It's quiet and peaceful during the day, so is one of my favorite spots to work from. Evening: At about 4/5pm, Plat 99 exchanges coffee for cocktails. They have a craft cocktail menu that offers up classics, as well as seasonal drinks, as well as beers (local and non), wines, and mocktails. You can also order small plates of food, and I highly recommend asking for the free truffle popcorn. It's AMAZING. You can also buy plates of chips/salsa, hummus/bread, charcuterie, nuts, meatballs, nachos and cubans. Another reason I love Plat 99 is that their head chef even opened up their kitchen to be a satellite kitchen for Second Helpings during COVID19. They're generous to the community and definitely a biz I want to support!

Plat 99 which is located on the second floor in The Alexander Hotel. It's a vibrant, colorful place with really cool glass lanterns designed by artist Jorge Pardo hanging from the ceiling. Whether you start your day with a coffee or handcrafted beverage and house made pastries from the friendly baristas (hours 7:30 on wknds & 6:30 M-F) or after 3pm it becomes a vibrant bar where concoctions are made by mixologists until 11pm-1am depending on day of week. There are contemporary seats and high top tables to gather around to collaborate or socialize. There also is seating outside on the wraparound deck with chairs and couches, heat lamps and a firepit.

What a great looking bar! They did a fantastic job with the design. I wish I would've caught the bartender's name, but she literally made the best Negroni I've ever had.

Such a cute bar! I didn't try the good but they had appetizers available as well. I had a couple drinks with my friend on a Friday night and loved how chill it was..the drinks were good and the staff was very friendly! I want go back when it's warmer also and sit on the outside area super cute!

Fantastic drinks and quick service. The perfect place to have a quick drink before dinner or meet with some friends for an intimate setting. The best part is the complimentary truffle popcorn! Yes truffle popcorn --it's delicious! I got the pear tree drink which was perfectly strong and subtly sweet. The prices are pretty decent and for the drink I got --I would say the price matches the good drink. My group all loved our drinks and had a wonderful time.

Plat 99 is the house bar and coffee lounge for the Alexander Hotel. It sits on the second floor overlooking the activity of CityWay. From early morning until 3, it is a coffee and pastry shop. Only after three does it begin offering cocktails and the menu items listed on their webpage for customers to get a side dish or something from the kitchen. Plat 99 has a gorgeous interior which was designed by artist Jorge Pardo who also created all the beautifully shaped and colored lights that hang inside and out into the lobby/stairway that leads up to the lounge. (Note that elevators are available on the other side of the lobby.) Inside the lounge, the bar area forms a central rectangle with a number of small tables all around for guests to nestle into. Note that there are no bar stools and no waitress service (at least during the coffee shop hours.) The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and was able to converse while getting my Tinker Coffee (ready to drink!) and offered to heat my cranberry muffin for me. Both were excellent! The atmosphere was very open with windows all around the lounge. Quite different than a lot of closed off coffee houses I've been to. I will definitely have to come back during the evening hours to check out the bar for their house cocktails. I've had some at their annual Miracle on South Street pop-up and enjoyed those. Note that there is affordable metered street parking available or a somewhat more expensive parking garage on the north side of the hotel. Review #3334

I just love the lanterns... I do... they are so cool to look at. That said... I love their current drink line up. The Bing Bong by Justun is it folks, that drink just has it all, booze, taste, looks, drama, entertainment... yes all of that from a drink. Gin and grapefruit based, with a giant iceball in a tall glass, dry ice figures in there somewhere and the whole thing bubbles up and looks like it's boiling and steaming like a witches cauldron. All that while it tasted light and refreshing, perfect summer time drink. It will kick you sooner or later, depending on how many you drink. Which brings us to the ups and downs of a seasonal menu... while it's fun to experience and try new things, when you find something you love and then they'll take it away from you forever... that's just painful. So when the Bing Bong goes away... whatever will I do? Guess I'll have to hire Justun as a personal mixologist so he can keep supplying me with this stuff... Food here is great. A bit pricey for my taste and the portions are generally small, but the quality is high. I generally come here for the cocktails and the atmosphere.

I paid the $8 to upgrade the mac to lobster mac...so delicious & so worth it (the upgrade was so unnecessary but so necessary, iykyk!). I also love that they allow you to mix & match on the sliders (filet, fried shrimp, or wagyu beef with Brie). I went with 1 filet and 1 wagyu beef, which was also perfect! Would love to try the fried shrimp at some point. The accompanying aiolis perfectly complemented the sliders! I completed my meal with a lemon drop martini. Service was friendly & attentive. Will definitely keep this spot in mind the next time I return to Indy & would highly recommend to others. In fact, I found it superior to my experience @ Harry & Izzy's--much more my vibe!

Later, our bartender told us the place would get busy in about an hour. As soon as we sat down at the bar, we were greeted by our bartender, Soso. She was delightful! So friendly and helpful with drink recommendations. And she was spot on! She suggested a cocktail not on the menu, a Tequila Sunrise with Peach Schnapps. Something I'd never had before. It was divine! My husband had the Paradox Paloma - also tasty. We asked for Tequila Old Fashioneds for round 2. Delicious! Our fried plantain appetizers took no time to come out. They were crisp and caramelized on the outside and tender and sweet on the inside. Our entrees came out quickly too. We shared the Buffalo Dry Rubbed Chicken Wings. They were bursting with flavor! Keagan Fife (Manager) - A team player, receptive to feedback and conscientious. We had a issue while there and he was able to step in and problem solve with me and come up with a solution that really won us over. We had a moment where it was feeling a bit "why did we come here" but his customer service exceeded expectation. That's good management. (He's the gentleman in the video below.) Let's get the negative out the way 1st. The first waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink. I told her we hadn't received menus. She came back sat them down and walked away. We never saw her again. A new waitress came and she seemed pleasant enough. Once we were all seated she began to take our orders. She made a point to say she needed to write it all down or she was get it mixed up. She then did not write anything down. Our food came out extremely slow but that wasn't a huge deal because we all were mingling. A lot of her team had to step in and deliver our food, give drinks, check on us etc. She was pretty non existent. Two of the ladies never received food. This was after we had been there for 2 hours and everyone else had received their items. At the end when we asked for our check they were all mixed up and confused. The waitress then blamed us for adding things and moving around. We never moved once and she only came around the one time when she originally took our orders. We never got a chance to add things. (it was quite comical that she tried to say that) I ended up asking for manager because she seemed overwhelmed and a bit bias about our group. Assuming that we wouldn't want one check and splitting them because she figured we would want it that way and then blaming us because she did it when we never asked for split. There rule is parties over 8 have to have 1 bill and we never asked for an exception. There was just her assumption that a group of black women wouldn't want to do that. (I digress) There were a few more things but I will end it there. That was the big negative. Now the positive!!! Ambiance 10/10 - great views, great music, great location, umbrellas on roof were great although a but wobbly and scary. Also, they come around with complimentary sunglasses while dining. I thought this was a nice and luxurious touch! Food 8/10 - most food received was delicious Service 9/10 - everyone except for our server was great! Everyone who pitched in to help was awesome! Ended up tipping a different server who basically helped us the whole time. Bless his heart because I know he was super busy. As stated above management handle the situation well. I would definitely go back! I try to give people a chance. I think our server may have been overwhelmed and had a past experience that left her bias against our group but hopefully she can grow and get better. Her actions don't reflect the restaurant as a whole! Go and enjoy the vibes and views!
