The service was a little slow but we had excellent cocktails here! We also tried the ultimate grilled cheese which was delicious! A great place for grabbing drinks and appetizers! read more

Spent three different nights here (don't get the wrong idea!) while on a recent conference stay at the Alexander Hotel. Each night was great - from first night with a loud, crazy group of women colleagues (thank you Justin for putting up with us!) to a smaller group night and a solo night at the bar... Both Justin (server) and Dakota (second) worked very hard to keep us comfortable, our glasses filled and to make sure we were smiling! On my last solo night, I sampled more of the food selection (excellent small plate choices!) and the bartender(s) were very gracious in creating non-alcoholic concoctions for me... Kudos to Justin and Dakota - for talking to guests like me, sharing Indy info and stories and sharing GHOST stories! (thanks, Dakota). You made my night alone, and our group nights more special! Highly recommended: good food, good drinks, GREAT staff! read more

Hip and trendy! Great cocktails and snacks. There is one male bar tender that has a stick up his behind but cocktail servers are sweet and helpful. read more

Great atmosphere, perfect for date night. Staff has always been friendly and very helpful. They also make the best old fashioned I've ever had and delicious popcorn. I highly recommend this place. read more

So far this is hands down my favorite bar in Indy! First of all it is gorgeous! The blown glass lamps hanging from the ceiling make this place feel more like an art gallery than a bar. There is also great outdoor seating. This place has amazing craft cocktails is defiantly something that Indy was missing. A must visit! Your only problem may be what to try first. They also have amazing small plates as well. The braised pork belly slider and cheese plates are not to be missed. Trust me this will be your new favorite spot for drinks after work or if your me your one and only spot for great night out. read more

Where else can you get $6 Floyd's beer and a bánh mì sandwich for only 10 bucks. This place is definitely a gem in Indianapolis. We moved out here from San Francisco in this place feels a little bit like home. This place is definitely worth a visit. you must try the pork sliders and the bánh mì sandwich and also the beet salad with endives read more

Such a cool place! Their drinks are some of the best in the city. The bar is staffed by pros that can point you in the right direction. They have a great menu of apps and will leave you wanting more. We had a cheese board filled with so much yum. Everyone that works there is killer nice and skilled. Totally going to be a regular place! read more

Such a happy surprise, as we were staying at The Alexander and, you know, hotel dining isn't usually the most fantastic eats. This, however - was. Any place that brings over your own bag of truffle salt popcorn to munch on while you peruse the menu starts with very high marks. Great drink menu; lots of curated cocktails, an excellent selection of local beers, and something you don't see all the time - considered wines-by-the-glass selection. We were having a late dinner, so hubs had the Cuban sandwich and I chose one of the salads. Husband often chooses Cubans and is often disappointed, but not here; he said it was one of the best he's had. My salad was un.real. - and I make and eat a ton of salads. Farro, roasted local mushrooms, kale, beets and - whoa - horseradish goat cheese...? The combo was out of this world and one of those dishes I'm still craving. If I were in Indianapolis I'd be making this place one of my go-to's. It's that good. read more

The experience here starts from when you walk up the stairs and see the beautiful hand blown glass chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. You walk in, sit down and are giving complimentary truffle popcorn to munch on while you are looking through the menu for a cocktail to sip on. If you go during the warmer months they have a fabulous patio that you can sit on and enjoy. Perfect way to finish off a wonderful evening. Would recommend going after dinner at Cerulean which just happens to be right downstairs. read more

Love the truffle popcorn!! Love the relaxed setting and view of City Way!! And loooooove the wonderful cocktail menu we enjoyed! Our cocktails for the evening were The Monkey Gland, New York Flip, The Ford Cocktail....none were disappointing at all... read more

I've been here a couple times now and have loved it every time! The mixed drinks here are amazing! They really know their stuff and they have some very interesting cocktails that you dont see everywhere. The small plates are also great! I have had many things here and everything I tried was awesome! They have these beef sliders that I could eat every day! If you are looking for a great place to grab a drink after work this is a good option. The atmosphere is fun and the service is great! Can't ask for much more! read more

I was thoroughly impressed by my visit to Platt 99. Their cocktails were as good as any drink I've had in Indy, or just about anywhere else for that matter. Their drink menu is organized chronologically, by the era that inspired each cocktail, so you have a good variety of styles to choose from, not to mention a little history with your drink. And their food is excellent too, and for a pretty reasonable price. I highly recommend Platt 99 to anyone who enjoys a good, complex cocktail. read more

Pretty good. Upscale and kindof hipster, but not bad.

A very beautiful place and great outdoor seating, but the drinks are small and very overpriced and the food wasn't that good.

Cool bar. Nice atmosphere. We had a horrible experience with one of the bartenders. Thought he was too cool to help anyone. Our friends have been praising this bar for awhile. Thanks to alexis we will never be back and certainly never recommend it. The drinks and atmosphere were great. Get rid of your pretentious bartenders and we might consider coming back. read more

Love this place!!! Service is awesome. Ask for Kristen.... She knows her stuff. Great suggestions that coincide well with what you like. Went above and beyond. Strongly recommend the hummus as well. Good vibe and the prices are reasonable. read more

Follow-up: I was so upset that I left without ordering the wine I was prepared to order, and called to tell the person in charge about my experience. He came up to my room with a bottle of wine and a nice note thanking me for the feedback, and profusely apologized for the bartender. I am impressed with his follow-up, so I'm bumping up the rating by a star and I'll give the place another chance. It would have been a long time before I ever went back had he not followed up with me the way he did. Experience: Really frustrated with the service at the bar. Food (a cheese plate!) was slow in coming and felt like bartender didn't want me sitting there. Apparently there was a special she neglected to tell me about, and when asked if there was a way for me to find out about the daily special, told me she was supposed to tell me, then shrugged and walked away to tend to another customer. No apologies, no asking if I wanted to order the special. The slow food wasn't her fault, but the bad attitude? Completely unnecessary. read more

This is a great place for pre or after game drinks. Great atmosphere, new bar menu just released ! Too small TV's to watch the games.

One of my favorite places ever, to grab a bite to eat. Small plates are the theme here.. But that does NOT mean you have to share ;) Their short rib panini's are to DIE for.. Not to mention that complimentary black truffle popcorn Atmosphere is laid back, modern, and comfortable. Making it ideal for a lunch, dinner, or business date. Staff is knowledgeable, personable, friendly and professional. With a bright-innovative bar, complete with unique cocktail concoctions.. They have just about anything to accommodate the pickiest of palettes.. This is by far, one of my top 5's in Indy very reasonably priced, you get a lot for what u pay for.. Esthetically pleasing, and full of flavor, check this place out, you won't regret it :) read more

Really snazzy bar, beautifully decorated with a lovely patio. I am not such a fan of the $10 cocktail, but the bartenders are very friendly and down-to-earth. Will definitely return. read more

This place is beautiful inside, has lots of comfortable seating areas (both inside and out thanks to gas heaters) and a lot of very innovative, original cocktails. I had their Elephant Man, which was a whiskey drink, along with their barreled tequila with chocolate bitters. They were both fantastic, with layers of complex flavors. Some people will really enjoy the free bags of popcorn that they hand out to everyone, and the smell permeates the restaurant. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a high end bar. read more

This bar is on the second level of the Alexander Hotel. It has a wide open view of the somewhat unimpressive landscape of Indianapolis. Sorry, I have to be honest. This area of town is somewhat ugly and the Cerulean has the same problem with large pane windows showing off urban blight. If your place is in a bland part of town, I'd suggest covering your windows with drapes or foliage or dark tint or something. Otherwise, this is a large sweeping bar with a lot of lounge area to sip your classic cocktails. I had an egg white cocktail that was great. I was there a Monday evening so I'm not sure how the nightlife here is. Classic cocktails are huge out west and it's nice to see it catching on in Indianapolis where there's probably more of history of classic cocktails than out west especially bourbon cocktails being so close to KY. There was also a weird section of the bar with a foot wall separating you from the bartender which I've never seen before. Are you supposed to order your drink on the other side and then sit over behind the wall hidden and sip your drink? Odd. read more

Great atmosphere but service is far from being acceptable. The waitstaff hangs out at the bar talking to themselves rather than serving their customers. Hard to say I'd return when customer satisfaction is far from their goals. read more

We stopped by to escape the rowdy Friday night crowd and have a place where we would be able to chat. We were immediately kindly greeted and chose a sit outside. Our amazing server Justin answered all of our 80 questions about the menu and was very honest and helpful. I tried a Jamaican drink Justin recommended. It was delicious. It had a mixture of rums and freshly grated nutmeg on top. Sounded strange, tasted great. Justin also recommended the s'mores which use a rich melted chocolate and gingersnaps instead of graham crackers. Very rich and the gingersnaps were a surprisingly perfect addition. The atmosphere and drinks/food were great (The free truffle oil popcorn too) but the key to our wonderful experience was our server Justin. He was very personable, informative, and made our experience very enjoyable. A great end to our Friday night! read more

I've been to Plat 99 a few times before and today brought a friend from out of town. As always, the list of drinks was interesting and pricing was a bit high, but service was good. While there, my friend's hand was cut on a piece of glass that was wedged in the seat. The staff checked in about the incident but am not sure we would return due to this incident. read more

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I guess I would have to say more with the server. We had sat down to order some food and they only had appetizers, and some small entrees which was fine. I told the server that I would just have some drinks because I wanted some real food like a burger, he said he has burgers just not on the menu. So me and my gf asked what came on the burger and we stated at the same time that we wanted only cheese, lettuce, onion and tomato he said that's what comes on it. So we waited about 30min for our food which is not a big deal, while waiting we ordered chips and salsa. After waiting 30 mins for our burger it had arrived. We got ready to eat, as we look at our burger we saw that it was not what we ordered. Both burger had only cheese, mushrooms, bacon jam(type of bacon and jelly mix), not what we ordered. I told the server that this not what we ordered and my gf does not eat bacon, and I don't eat bacon jam and I'm not a fan of mushrooms on my burger. He said sorry and walked away. I looked at my gf and laughed at the service, I was being charged 40ish dollars for two burgers that had almost nothing that we ordered and had nasty bacon jam and mushrooms and to top it off the server did not do anything other that say sorry I should of told you that came on there and walked away. So I ask to speak to the manager who was exceptionally nice she handled the problem and took it off our bill and apologized. The reason why I gave this place any stars is because the manager had great service and was very nice. While at the table a family sat next to us and ordered the same thing and also asked what came on the burger and his answer was cheese lettuce tomato lol. So I got kinda of mad that he just did that to us, we had a problem and then he just did it to another family 20min after. I wish I would of got the servers name but he was a black guy that was bald that's the best way I can describe him so other can avoid him. All the other servers there were exceptionally nice, so if you go there please ask for a different server, you will thank me. Couldn't really enjoy the burger cause of the sauce but the appetizers we had were good. So I don't have a problem with place or the food just that particular server. read more

I usually love this place, but I had a really disappointing experience on Saturday, which is too bad, because we were trying to show it off to an out-of-town friend. Maybe the trick is to order drinks, because this time we just went for s'mores and coffees. I ordered a decaf. Our waiter explained that it would come in a French Press, and asked whether that was okay. Of course! But he shortly arrived with a coffee in a paper cup -- I think he might've gone to the wedding reception down the hall for it. It felt like, "Here's your hat, what's your hurry?" The coffee was unsurprisingly stale. Anyway, he eventually brought out our thoughtlessly prepared and presented s'mores (there were three of us, but only two skewers, and the chocolate was melting on the plate). As he was clearing our plates--or was it when he gave us our bill?--he asked me whether I wanted cream or sugar with my coffee. The coffee he had brought me twenty or thirty minutes prior!!! I was speechless. read more
