A random name like "Plants, Patios&Things" doesn't sound promising. Sort of like Oregon's now-defunct Yellow Front store with its trio of "Camping/Auto/Clothing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biTQM7J8BME The service at "Plants, Patio&Things" ranges from non-existent to OK. While the signage brags about having Christmas decor year-round, it's kind of a grim&messy place, plus it's not open on a regular basis. There aren't very many plants- it's not a nursery. There is plenty of patio furniture&the store seems to be in a perpetual clearance sale. However, there are plenty of things. sometimes when I eat at Mary's Pizza Shack I would stop in this store to browse. Although my experience there happened 5 years prior to the post from Marta C., I decided not to buy anything from this store. The owners of the store watched me like hawk while I browsed. When lifted a piece of furniture to feel how sound it was constructed the man questioned why I kept messing with it. Another experience, happened when Crocs the plastic shoes were new to the market. I couldn't belief my ears when the sales woman of the store freaked out when I was going to try one on. I was barefooted at the time and she could of instead offered me a disposable nylon stocking. I am always surprised to see that this store is still in business since the owners are so hostile to their shoppers. read more

If you want quality furniture and intensive customer service this is the place! I have bought things over the years from this store, I have never failed to be 100% happy with the purchases and service. A month ago we decided to get a new quality patio set for our place. Chris Cramer, the owner, spent enormous time with us going over the choices and making excellent suggestions. I am sitting here in one of most comfortable chairs that we purchased that supports my neck, my back and is absolutely gorgeous. Here are a couple of pictures! My husband and I went into Plants patio and things last weekend to look at patio furniture.. Our experience with the owner was very disappointing. After looking at several table and chair sets we decided we like a teak set the best. The owner mentioned that we should protect the set with a teak oil preservative. Being a business person myself (my husband and I both own small businesses) I asked him if he would throw in a bottle of the preservative if we purchased the set (which was a $3700 purchase). The owner clearly said sure. Happy with that I paid for the set while my husband started to load the car. After the transaction was over I asked for the bottle of oil. To my surprise the owner said that he had never agreed to give us a bottle! Disappointed, I decided it wasn't worth arguing with him. He then followed me outside to see my husband loading the truck, After finishing the loading my husband then asked him if we could have the oil. Again the owner said he never agreed to that, then he continued to "lecture" us saying he wasn't a used car dealer and in 21 years he never made deals like that. (This was an 80 dollar bottle of teak oil ) Our total purchase was a little over $3700 dollars. It's not about the money but the fact that he outright lied to us is what's upsetting. We will never step foot in Plants Patio and things again. And we will make sure that all our friends know our experience. We have lived in Napa for 30 years and have never been treated this way by any business. By the way, we would have been happy with the smaller less expensive bottle of oil but of course he did not offer that. read more

Store gave us a great experience. We bought a grill there, since it's the only Holland Grill dealer in the Bay Area. Called the store, the person on the other end (the owner?) reserved the last grill he had in stock for us, and even offered to meet us in Richmond (we live further down in the East Bay) so we didn't have to drive up to Napa. We drove anyway to make a day of it, and when we did get up there, he helped us load up the grill in the back of our minivan. Grill works great, he gave a bunch of helpful advice for using it that we continue to use. All in all, pretty great place. read more

Horrible service! The man that 'helped me' was neither helpful or friendly, he didn't even give me his full attention (moving boxes around the room etc.) This was my second time here. The first time was a little uncomfortable because my boyfriend & I were followed around & unable to shop comfortably & again the same man wasn't too friendly. I tried giving this place a second chance & it was a mistake. You would think with extra expensive (all be it great) merchandise you would be extra friendly & helpful but, I guess not. I pull in the parking lot and park in the first vacant spot I see that happens to be directly in front of the stores doors. The grumpy and overweight (owner?) wobbles over and tell me to move my truck out of his parking spot. I think he really believes he owns the parking lot even though he doesn't even own the building his store is in. I walk through the store as this guy talks to his small dog like its his girlfriend. Now that I think about it he may be in a relationship with the poor dog. Store is crowded and waaaayy overpriced. Order everything in his store online and save 25% even with shipping fees. read more

I am still using 20 years later my patio set and stainless holland grill and teak tables.
