I've ordered from Planted Soul via food delivery and also online for pickup. It is a ghost kitchen where you pick up. The food has been consistently delicious! I always get the Jamaica Me Crazy; fried "chicken" topped with spicy jerk sauce, Mac n cheese, greens, and rice and peas, everything is perfectly seasoned. My most recent visit, my brother came along and ordered the Good 4 The Soul; southern fried "chicken" wings, mac n cheese, collard greens and candied yams. He said the greens were "bussin'"; this is an extremely positive term ha ha! And he also said "whoever working the kitchen did their thing with these yams"! I have not dined in person but ordered from UBer eats. First on my list is the planted soul. I get the sweet chili. Now the first time I ordered this the sauce was drenched in it which I prefer but the second time it was provided on the side. The Mac is cheese is hearty thick and creamy. Very flavorful. The yam were sweet and soft. The greens were cooked perfectly but a little tangly for my liking- perhaps too much vinegar. However the second time I ordered I didn't get that tangy flavor. Cornbread: I liked it had a slight sweetness but flavorful 5/5 Esquites : now I usually love this dish but it wasn't that great it had some type of sauce that made it runny and the corn was crunchy. Didn't care for the flavor or the chunks of cheese 2/5 Potato salad : didn't care for it that much. It again had a tangy flavor it was bland. Good texture for potato salad 3/5 Oyster wings : now I feel like if I was able to get to these fast , they wouldn't be soggy it was sweating in the styrofoam container but they were fluffy seasoned and fried perfectly !!! Finally checked out Planted Soul. Would've taken pictures but I was starving by the time I got there.‍ Parking was a little challenging since there are only so many spaces. But I did find one. You also may be able to find street parking. Once I parked, I ordered the jerk chik'n philly. It comes with fries, ketchup & their sauce. The Philly is a lot of food by itself. As hungry as I was, I almost ate all of it. The fries could've been more fresh but were decent overall. Looking forward to trying other money items in the future. The Mac & cheese blew me away, especially because it didn't have that gross fake cheese flavor most vegan cheeses have. This place is SO busy and appears to be takeout only. Visited Atlanta one weekend and decided to look for a vegan soul food restaurant. I found this restaurant via UberEats app and thought I'd give it a try. As a vegan for the last 2 years I must say this is the best vegan soul food I've ever had! Especially the macaroni and "cheese" which I think the restaurant did an excellent job as I haven't come close to any other vegan restaurant/company doing the same. This is my second time ordering from this restaurant through UberEats. Listen!! It's so freaking good!! It's about 30 mins from my house. This means extra long wait time. Each delivery the food was fresh, AND PLENTIFUL!! They give you huge portions. My favorites are their Mac and cheese and their cornbread!! I really liked this place! I went with my friend yesterday and we ate everything in the car since it's a food hall for pick up only, which we overlooked. The portion sizes were great. She got the Philly Rolls and fries. I got the vegan oxtail plate with a side potato salad and esquites. Everything was GOOD. The vegan oxtails are just mushrooms with oxtail gravy, which...it's okay if you don't really care for mushrooms. Probably won't get that again, but I still enjoyed it. This food used to be so flavorful and immaculate but now it's terrible! The curry chicken and the yams HAVE NO FLAVOR, BUT the mac and cheese is still the same quality as last year! Last year this food tastes like your grandma made it where you savored every bite, but now the quality has significantly decreased. this is one of the best places i've ever received food from. i was a bit unsure initially because i thought the pick up building was a little odd but it was 1000% worth it! the pickup location is a black warehouse, and when you order they'll send you a link to unlock a locker inside of the warehouse when your food is ready. there are numbered lockers on the inside wall, and all i had to do was click the link to unlock the locker and grab my food. i tried the good for the soul plate (yams, collard greens, mac, and fried chick'n) and i was happy to see the large portion! there was plenty of mac and cheese, and it was the best mac i've had as of posting. the yams were also exceptional. i'd recommend this plate because of the sampling variety. i was also interested in the wings, so i tried half bbq and half lemon pepper. the texture of the "chicken" was impressively realistic, and although the bbq was my favorite because of the sauce, i enjoyed the lemon pepper as well. the last thing i tried was the lobster melt. the fries that came with it were well seasoned, and the lobster melt itself held a lot of flavor. i didn't find the cheese to be sticky or glue-y, and thought the lobster was pretty accurate. definitely a good order. overall i'd definitely recommend because i could probably eat here every day! all the food was very well seasoned and packed a punch. the portion sizes are huge, the mac and cheese is a must-try read more

It's a curious little place owned by a nice enough lady. It actually houses two restaurants, the planted soul food was good so my family said after having to settle for what we could get. Unfortunately the restaurant was limited on food at 2:00 in the afternoon. No place in such a small town should run out of food midday, it wasn't as if there was a crowd of people waiting or even seated in the restaurant. read more

As an avid supporter of plant-based foods and black owned plant-based restaurants, I was disappointed with the food and the experience I received from this establishment. I chucked my negative experience up to just "a one time thing" until I saw the numerous similar reviews on Google. Here's the thing, I have no qualms with their business model. I for one am an advocate for seeing the faces of the people I'm spending money to eat at. It's a part of the experience for me and I believe in building relationships with people. I understand the need and importance of ghost-kitchens/shared kitchens in today's economy. Nevertheless, that is NOT an excuse for poor customer service with regularly delayed order. Nor is that an excuse to provide your customers with sub-par vegan food at comparable price points to other better vegan restaurants. My expectation is that if I can't see or talk to anyone and I'm only able to pick up my food and go, that food need's to be delicious. As it stands, nothing I ordered from their establishment has given me a reason to return. But, I'm someone who believes in second chances. I believe this establishment has the potential to provide a better food experience for their customers and look forward to seeing that expectation come to fruition. read more

First time visit on 3/21/23. Ordered the Vegan Oxtail came with collard green not seasoned and taste like waste, Mac and cheese bland not season, rice and assorted beans bland not seasoned top with mushroom represent oxtail (thank god I like mushroom's, however, you know...not season and cornbread. I ordered a size of mac and cheese because I did not fully read the description. Mac and cheese was included w/meal. My bad. However, I was disappointed with the entire meal. This is a food hall that you can order and pickup. No eating area. You have to go to Forresteatery.com to order and pay. They will text you once order is ready and it took them about 30 minutes to prepared order. In text you will receive a locker number. Once you go back in you and to check-in. Don't unlock to locker until you have checked in. They gave a timeframe of 30-40 so order before heading that way to location. I did not know, so I sit patiently in the car. Oh, there are a variety of vendors servicing this location. Giving 3 star ONLY because of the portion size (large amount) and in total paid $30.98 (Oxtail $21.95 and size Mac and cheese $6.75) plus tax. More than likely will not go back. Munch on the one hour ride home and all could said was "Hmm" hoping the favors would kick in. I loved nothing about this meal but maybe the cornbread. It just was under seasoned. As far as vegan food goes, planted soul is just okay. I ordered the soul food plate and the red velvet bundt cake. The chick'n in the plate reminded me of the morningstar brand tenders and the collard greens were a bit under seasoned. The yams were good and the Mac and cheese was also good. Wanted to try this place out to see if it was worth the hype. Fried oyster mushrooms were seasoned well but really tough to chew. My mouth watered for the greens and I was sorely disappointed! They were wayyy to salty it was disgusting. My husband got the jerk chicken Philly with fries he enjoyed it but said the jerk seasoning wasn't really there.
