I love using their self service car wash. They play fun music. It was really simple to use the menu and equipment. I love using their pressure washer as it gets a lot of gunk and dirt off without having to damage your car's paint with a brush. Speaking of the brush, it has soft bristles but they're separated so it's not the best for scrubbing. They have a few slots, and I've never had to wait to wash my car. I always have a great experience when I come here. Some of the tools might be a little old but are still in great shape and get the job done. I've only ever had one issue with the soap not dispensing but it was fixed the next time I went. I live in apartments so I have to find car washes to wash my car and this is always my go to. It's $3 for 4 min last I checked which is a pretty good bargain compared to anywhere else I've been. I would recommend bringing your own towels to dry your car. He manages to keep the car wash in good working order while keeping the old fashioned price of $3.00 per car wash. The self-wash high pressure hoses actually remove dead bugs and tar, and the vacuums have great suction. 1,000 times better than the new Sunny's Car Wash ($22) in East Davis, which does NOT remove the tar, grease and dead bugs on the front grille. This was an interesting experience. I did the self serve wash and it was a little confusing personally (maybe my anxiety). But you really can't beat the price and I was able to give my car a good hose down with the high pressure hose. It's not my first choice for a car wash, but it does the trick. read more

When this place first opened it was the best damn car wash around. It was 100% worth the money, I would even make a 15mile detour to come here because that's how good of a deal the place is. Now it's a little run down and some things aren't working properly. One of the wash stalls had a foaming brush that was out of service and most of the brushes are curling back. Which means the brushes don't clean as well. I suggest anyone coming here with a really dirty car bring their own sponge/brush to compensate for the curling ones. Took my truck here for a much needed wash and vacuum. I had hauled some bags of compost and soil and it spilled everywhere so I needed a heavy duty vacuum which they have here. It was $1 for a few minutes of vacuuming. I ended up spending like $3 and getting every nook and cranny cleaned out. Went through the automatic wash and got the middle package which was $8 I believe. First off, the automatic wash.... it's spot free rinse which means NO BRUSHES!! All those brushes can cause damage to your paint and leave swirl marks! Planet wash is all water/rinse..... Also, they have wash it yourself stations which are all shaded and includes high pressure wash, foam brush detergent, triple foam polish, clear coat finish and a blasto dry!!!! Wash it yourself costs $2.50! Also, they have vacuum stations that are shaded! Vacuum cost $1.00 and it lasts for a while! Lastly, if you have pets, they have a pet station wash!! This is for the dog wash. Great concept. Totally practical and useful idea but the execution is poor. Water pressure was pitiful. Two little squirts at a time barely got my dog wet and in fact got me more wet than the dog. Shampoo of any kind is non existent- no suds whatsoever and I tried various types. The only redeeming aspect of the service was the dryer which worked fairly well. Why not charge more and actually provide a good service?? Actual water pressure and soap ?? Even if I brought my own doggy shampoo I could t deal with how long it takes to get my dog wet. So I won't be back. Come on people, it's not rocket science. Do not use the auto wash. I used my credit card to pay for a $7 express wash but was charged $10. The wash cleaned off the dust but that was it - I had to re-wash the car when I got home to remove grime on the windshield and bugs all over the front bumper. Go over to the Loop on Covell or Chevron off Mace Blvd instead. read more

Came here for a quick car wash, I decide to do the auto car wash since I"m a lazy potato. lol. They also offer self service car wash and vacuum. The self service car wash includes 2 sanitizing hoses and 1 water wash. They have about 4 of each, so plenty of cars can go in at once. My credit card didn't work for some reason, so I had to get a change of $20 from the gas station next door (the machine only accepts $1,$5,$10) After I put cash in the machine, they gave me three choices of wash (standard $7, premium $8, and ultimate $9). I chose the ultimate since my car was pretty nasty. The auto machine cleaned my car super well. The sanitizer washed all the dirt off, and the water sprayed evenly all over my car. They even have a turbo dryer at the end. The process only took 5 min :). I'd say its a good quality/cheap car wash. Will definately be back for future car washes. read more

Car was clean after and the vacuum worked really well. It looked like it would be a weak car wash, I'm used to shell with all those things to slap your car to clean it. Instead it was just 2 poles that rotate around your car and soap and wash your car. So this review is both for the autowash and the self-car wash. Autowash: I purchased the ultimate wash and well it was a bit weak sauce. I've been having problems with the windows on my car not streaking (I partially think it's due to the weather being so hot). The ultimate wash actually sprays a high jet of water from below to really clean the undercarriage of the car. It also uses high pressure water to clean the car fairly well. Besides the windows streaking, this autowash did it's job, though I might skip out next time and just use Chevron's as I get a discount on my gas when you use the autowash. Self-Serve Wash: Pretty simple instructions on a wheel. There are a lot of steps that you don't necessarily need, but some of the soap comes out much better and also more thicker so when you clean the car, you can clean it very well. Overall, it is cheaper to use the self-serve car wash than to use the autowash. You also get more bang for your buck, but be warned if you have a tall car, you might want to reconsider going through the self-serve. read more

Tired of getting auto washes from gas stations that never fully cleaned my car, but instead smeared the already existing bird poop all over my windows, I thought it would be a better idea to wash my car by hand. But I didn't have anything to wash it with so I looked up Planet Wash on Yelp. I went along with my friend so we could team up and wash the car faster, which would also cut cost. I WANT to say its $2.50 for 5 minutes, but I'm not 100% sure. There's just a sign that says $2.50, but it doesn't say for how long. The machine accepts credit cards (convenient because it lets you continue washing until you're done without having to continuously insert money. It also automatically stops the transaction at the maximum of $10) and all you have to do is set the dial to what you want to spray your car with, pick up the hose, and start washing! Sadly, my friend and I were total noobs and couldn't finish washing before the machine maxed out at $10. The owner came out and let us finish at no charge! He stuck around and gave us tips on how to wash our car faster (apparently everyone else is able to wash their car for around $6 -_-). The broom and power dryer work well. The hose also sprays at a really high pressure so be careful... don't be like me and totally fall backwards when you pull the trigger. I suggest bringing a towel to wipe down your car, especially for the windows to prevent water spots. Also, don't wear cheapy flip flops! Wow! I'm impressed!!! One of my good friends used to live at the WIllows apartment across the street and every time I drive by, I would see Planet Wash but I was always too lazy to get a car wash. This time however, I was in desparate need of a car wash. The tree outside my house covered by car in this nasty pollen looking crap. It was getting so bad, I could barely open my car door without first taking a Claritin. My friend raves about Planet Wash's self service car wash ALL the time, so I finally decided I just had to give it a shot myself. After pulling into the little self wash area, I was a bit confused about how to work everything. There are about 4 hoses attached to the side of the wall and a little machine thing with a knob near the front. Turns out if you slide your credit card, you can wash as long as your want without having to keep putting in quarters! We quickly went through all the steps of washing our car and ended up making it look all shiny and new (the machine automatically does soap and wax as you turn the knob around to each function). We were able to do everything for $6! Granted, I pay for the "hand wash car washes" for $7. But every time I get one, I always find bird poop still stuck to the top of my car. When we were done washing, I saw that they had a vacuuming station, so I just HAD to stop by (since I had all this dog hair stuck to my car seat from my friend's dog). It cost a $1 to use the machine for a period of time. But for some reason, the machine did not take my credit card. No matter which way I slide it, I would not even attempt to read it. Finally the nice man that works there came over and tried to help me. But still.. it did not work. So I had to move to another station. Halfway into my vacuuming the man comes back and says, oh I think the machine was lazy! It took my card. So you can use this one too to vacuum your car since it's already paid for :) Oh and they have a pet washing station also! Hidden behind the Circle K gas station is a great self serve/auto carwash station. This place does the job if you live far from home and would love to keep your car clean!! Although your car doesn't leave spotless, what I like about this place is that it uses high pressure JETS to clean your car. This prevents your car's paint from being scratched since conventional carwash's brush/flaps might harbor rocks and dirt. Overall, an affordable carwash to rinse the dirt off of your car. However, I would recomend using the self serve station as you can wash your car for under $5 if you are fast enough!! Also vaccums lined up near the end if needed for the interior. read more

This review is for the self serve area only. Pulling into the establishment you're greeted with multiple stalls equipped with a variety of modern car cleaning tools. In Davis, you need all the help you can get to fight off all the bird poop and dust that sticks on and Planet Wash will allow you to have a clean car...at least for a few hours until the birds strike again. Starting at 2.50 to get the machine going it isn't too pricey to get your whole car clean in about 4.50-7.00. I personally would skip most of the functions available and just soak, soap, brush, and high pressure rinse but if you want more they have more. However I would avoid the drying machine and just dry the car with towels outside as the drying machine eats money since it takes so long to blow the water off. read more

This place offers an automated and self serve car wash. I received a free "express" car wash and decided to try it out. Huge disappointment. The express car washed would've normally cost 7 dollars but while driving to the entrance, I noticed that there someone punched in their car wash code already and left so I could get my car super clean since i still had my own code. Woot! My car will be super clean, i thought... But i actually thought wrong. What ended happening was me running my car through the same car wash twice and still leaving with a dirty car. WTF The automated car wash didn't even have any brushes on it. It simply sprayed soap and water on the car which didn't remove any dirt or dust. On top of that there were weeds that let its seeds floating so everywhere we see these dandelion seeds flying about further dirtying my car. I will never ever bring my car to this car wash again.
