This shop has a much different feel than A-1 Body, which they purchased several years ago. My dealings with A-1 characterized by feelings of decency and kindness. This is an average of 1 and 10. Fine repair work that was done quickly. It felt like the front office was most interested in profit rather than fairness. The first time I walked in they were quite busy trying to grow the franchise. The next three times there was no receptionist. I once waited on hold for 25 minutes and driver to the office only to find three people in the back working on whatever. It felt like I was overcharged when they realized no insurance adjuster was going to review the bill. A revised bill had an hour added to prepare an OEM item. An odd thing to overlook but perhaps it was an honest mistake. I will look elsewhere for body shop work in the future. read more

I had my 2017 tacoma repaired at A-1 on the week of January 30, 2023. I got it back fairly quickly as in a couple days. I checked over the area and it looked like the job was done well. Later on May 11, 2023 I noticed there was significant run on the front fender that was repaired. I didn't notice it because I was only looking in the area where the scratch was where the main work was done. I think better quality management would have caught this by the painter or the estimator. I had to bring my vehicle back and leave it at the shop for a few hours so they could fix the issue. No sorry about the inconvenience or anything. Yes they corrected the issue but I would not bring my vehicle back here if they can't catch a simple run on the fender before it goes back to the customer. I only came here as it was a direct repair for State Farm. Bad quality control for a shop to let a vehicle go back to the customer with a run in the paint. read more

Car (bolt 19) had a broken A pillar. Collision pro was the only shop certified for electric vehicles at the time. Estimate sent to insurance in timely fashion. Mechanic is knowledgeable and polite. However there's some water from the rain through broken windshield during the storage. read more

I picked up my car last night after a two week repair. The work is fine, but the customer service is sorely lacking. I called two times and left callback messages (morning and early afternoon), and sent a text message yesterday (early afternoon) to attempt to find out status on my car for pickup. I didn't hear from anyone by 4pm. Finally, I had to go in to the office just to find out what was going on. (I thought their phones were broken and they didn't know it.) I waited in line for a few minutes while Cameron was helping another customer, then I decided to go run another errand rather than wait. When I got back, Cameron was still busy and went outside to help the other person. No "I'll be right back", or "I'll be right with you", or "I see that you've been waiting a long time". Nothing. Zero acknowledgement. I began to wonder if I were invisible. I asked in back if anyone was working with customers and Nico came to help me. He was very helpful and got my car back to me by 530, by working overtime. He even worked hard to clean my car by hand because the car wash next door was closed for repairs. Nico was very apologetic about being short staffed. I remember when I arrived in time for my intake appointment two weeks ago, it even took them 15 minutes to acknowledge my presence. The car repair was paid for by insurance, so I can't attest to value. Today, they're not able to answer their phones either. I'm trying to reach them about the rental car I dropped off last night not being returned to Enterprise Car Rental. Very annoying! It seems to me that this business needs some front end help in a hurry, or a very good business will suffer the consequences of terrible customer service. They had to wait some weeks for the parts to arrive from Tesla but once parts were in, I was booked right away and had my car back 4 days later. My daughter hit her front bumper and the bottom was dragging making a nails on chalkboard kind of sound. Front bumper came off on the sides. She panicked, not knowing what to do. So we came out there and looked up our trusty Yelp reviews! This place was noted as being honest and fair. So I went to this place which was fairly close by to the UC Davis campus. Since we were out there for only a few hours I asked if we could fix it as quick as possible by today. He had cars but he explained bc it was dragging and we were unable to really drive it, he would help us. In a couple of hours, it was all fixed up and they did a nice job. Reasonably priced- I wanted to do it for as cheaply as possible and it cost me about 100. working with what we got! Cameron was professional, helpful, friendly and just awesome! There were several framed awards for being the best from 2015-2019! Heck, if I ever have a problem even I live far, I may just come out to Davis bc I rather deal with a good and honest business that doesn't gouge you! Thank you, A-1 Body shop and staff! I brought my Honda Civic into A-1 after recently being hit. Not only was the front desk worker- Nino a super kind and helpful person to work with but the technicians did an amazing job! I come from a family of autobody technicians so attention to detail and fitment is something I am really picky about and they absolutely blew my mind, not only did it come out perfect but they had gone above and beyond what was needed to for the job and to make me happy. Came in for an independent quote to see how they would fix my vehicle, waited 15 minutes in the lobby only for the estimator to tell me he wouldn't look at my car unless I tell my adjustor to give the claim assignment to him and guarantee the work to them only. Estimator emphasized he mainly cares about receiving the check from insurance and not a word else. This shop cares about receiving the check first and foremost, and it's an inconvenience to talk to a customer. Will make sure not to recommend this shop locally, go to the numerous great and truly reputable shops in Sacramento instead. read more

After a quick inspection, they spent a few minutes to fix the problem free of charge. Done! Recently watched this business give a $2000 written quote for repairs on an UNDAMAGED automobile. Seemed a bit odd.

I have reviewed A1 body before when they repaired damaged caused by a fallen tree branch. They were so easy to work with my husband suggested using them for some internal repairs I needed; broken window button and rear drink dispenser. To be honest I felt a little silly asking a body shop to look at them but I'm glad I did. They ordered the parts, and fitted them for me without any hassle. Much more convenient than going to the dealer in Roseville, and probably a lot cheaper too. read more

I am so grateful for this business and extremely helpful staff. CAMERON was so awesome and fixed my bumper within minutes without any appointment. I had driven over a scrap tire on the freeway that knocked my fog light out and dented the front bumper. Reluctant to file an insurance claim I made appointments for repair quotes at a few locations in Davis and but I'm glad I walked in here by accident! I saved at least $1200 on a new bumper (excluding labor costs). Cameron was able to mold the dents out, secure the bummer, AND he found my fog light sitting inside and was able to put it back in place. It gets better.... He took care of all this in less than 20 min. for FREE! Let's be honest - I know nothing about car repair and as a young, scared student I was desperate to fix my fender-bender quickly and at low cost. I came to them last month with a Toyota 4runner that needed a replacement rear door and bumper, due to the savage and unprovoked attack of a traffic light pole while in reverse. My insurance was going to pay for the cost of the repair, but I still shopped around. I chose A1 because I got the particular read they were the best in town, and I am very confident I chose well after having gone through the process with them. The repair they did on my 4runner made it like new. The first body shop I came to was quite corporate, and they quoted a price over a thousand dollars higher than the rest. The second body shop (not A1) seemed decent, but it was near the end of the day and I saw the evaluator was eager to get out the door--he added a few things to the price sheet I saw were not necessary--it made me wonder if that was done on purpose to "pad" the quote. When I came a few minutes before closing to A1, Cameron crawled under my vehicle to take extra photos for the eval write-up. Then he made no fuss about correcting me on something I had been saying to the other body shops but that they had never raised with me (I had been going around mentioning the 4runner is a "unibody frame," thinking that was the truck frame, when really what I meant to say was the 4runner is a "body on frame" vehicle.) I salute someone who knows their stuff who can respectfully correct my ignorance of a term without being insulting. :-) Then Cameron promptly wrote up a quote of what his shop could do. He didn't overpromise, and warned me that the repair might cost more or take extra time. When he told me the wait to get my vehicle repaired was three weeks, I knew this was a popular place in Davis. I dropped the 4runner off, and was very surprised when I came by three days later to check on it--Cameron had said the repair could take over a week, and the shop was already done. I've been driving the car for three weeks now, including for several lengths of California, and I am deeply impressed with the quality of the work they did. They were even able to get mostly original parts for the repair. 1) High quality work 2) Ahead of schedule 3) No worries, and professional attitude I hope I don't need more work done for any other unprovoked traffic light pole attacks, but if I do, I would go to Cameron and A1 without hesitation again. read more

After my car being hit, A-1 body shop helped me out. Cameron was very helpful during the process. He was able to get the highest quality parts and quick communication through the insurance company. Cameron was willing to bend over backwards to make sure I wasn't wasting my time and even offered me a ride to the rental company. He stayed late to meet me if needed. Just made the process much easier. After everything was done, Nino made sure my car was in perfect shape. He even removed some sap stains from my car in spots that didn't even pertain to the collision repair. He went the extra mile to make sure my car looked better than before.
