I went to the Shell station to get a car wash today so I drove and went to the car wash machine where I paid with my card. Then went to get gas I had my receipt for the car wash and went inside to get the discount on the gas they told me you can't get the gas discount unless you pay for the gas and the car wash at the same time I said where does it say that where is the notification of that. The man in charge I didn't get his name but it wasn't the teller! he stepped in front of the teller and stopped him from going further with me and told me again that you cannot get the gas discount unless you buy it with the car wash and I repeated where does it say that there's no signs anywhere that told me that so how would I know and he just shook his head and refused to give me the discount so I didn't get gas and I left and I took pictures of the pump and different signs of the car wash nowhere does it say that! I would think twice before going to the shell gas station at the corner of Richards Boulevard and Olive Drive. read more

This is about the Shell gas station in front of the Loop market on 1944 Covell. I strongly advise you to never use this gas station. Many of the pumps are broken. And the employees do not speak enough English for them to even understand this when you tell them about it. A complete waste of my time. Today at pump number 2 credit card payment is unavailable. It seems that credit doesn't work so you have to inconveniently walk inside the store fall in line at the obvious register and then the register has a sign that reads ---This register is closed. You need to walk to non-obvious register. Pay with your credit card. Then you may get gas. It's inconvenient. read more

Restroom not so clean, the convenience store is so small and everything is compact.. Makes me feel claustrophobic. But other than that, everything is well stock, which I give kudos to that... I HIGHLY advise that you do not fill up your gas here. As a student, I fill up 1 or 2 gallons here whenever I can afford it and usually have no issue. Today, I filled up 1 gallon and both my digital gas range indicator and analog gas volume meter did not change. I drove back to ask if there was an issue with the pump or if I could receive a refund or replacement but was instead met with rudeness and gaslighting about my experience by who I believed to be the manager. read more

The pumps sometimes malfunction so don't stop here if in a hurry. The car wash is a ripoff!! Only after paying for the wash do you realize THE DRYERS ARE BROKEN!!! You must dry it by hand with paper towels!!!!! And it doesn't totally rinse your vehicle. I give the car wash and -10!! read more

This place is the epitome of poor service. I wanted to use the vacuum outside. I did not like the look of the slide credit card device outside. Too easy to put one of those copycat devices in, on or close by. I went in to get change for the quarter machine. Don't go here if you're looking for a carwash. I went through just now and there was no soap that was put on my car. They admitted to me they reduced a lot of the soap they put on cars after I complained. They said the water and soap come out at the same time now, which is BS cause I used to go here a lot. They tried changing the subject while I was complaining. The manager talked about my car roof rack and insulted me while I was mad about the soap. They did not even offer a refund or for my car to go through the car wash again. Wish I could give negative stars. I am never coming to this Shell again. read more

I usually get my gas across the street at Chevron, but I had just finished getting groceries at Save-mart so I decided to fill up at Shell instead since it's attached to the same plaza as Save-mart. Since the credit card reader was busted, I had to go inside to pay. While I was there I saw a pretty cool looking scratcher so I decided to buy one. I know I'm super unlucky usually and I'm not really sure what really compelled me to buy just ONE scratcher but hey...when I got home and I scratched it ... I WON $50!!! whooo hooo!!!! read more

No Stars ***Whew I got a story to tell! I came and paid for the $14 car wash with some gas and the car wash was mostly water and barely any soap. After the wash I come in and inform the clerk I'd like a refund and the owner which is a male takes my receipt and tell me he needs to verify my wash on camera? Has me waiting for about 10 mins and comes back and is close to me in my face trying to engage in an argument and stated I was lying and nothing is wrong with the car wash. I was calm and said "sir why are you arguing with me about a car wash?" I'm not raising my voice at you, if you're going to give the refund then do that, I'm not going to argue." He then tells me he'd refund my money, but I'm not allowed to get my car wash there ever again. OK that's fine since clearly that's the reason I asked for a refund right? It was a crazy experience he was so defensive and called me a liar when clearly when he returned he verbally stated he seen a "little soap" dispense, I don't understand men who try to belittle or get confrontational with women. I honestly feel bad for his wife or if he has girls because that was a lot and it was over something small like a car wash. Lol whew update ** I read on yelp that customers have been experiencing the same treatment which the owner needs to be held accountable, that's not acceptable so I filed 2 complaints on the BBB and contacted Shell Corporate as well. I really only go to this Shell because it is usually the cheapest Shell in Davis. I also occasionally use the car wash and I have never had any problems with it. It is a standard automatic car wash that doesn't totally clean your car, but gets the job done. Only downside is that the drying fans don't fully dry your car, but I feel like all automatic car washes fail to do that. read more
