It's a scam gas station. I went there to fill up and the meter rolls at a snail's pace. It takes 2 minutes to reach one gallon. After that time, I stopped and decided to drive to another gas station with a faster flow. My gas tank has a digital reader and it detected I got NO gas in my car from that transaction. So I got scammed out of $5. Avoid this gas station like the plague. read more

Closes early for a town that's open late, seems like a waste of a business. A Chevron or a better business would be more preferable than this joint. They lock the pumps when they close but leave the lights on, pretty misleading if you aren't from here and you don't know everything there is to know about Davis like every other no-life who never left their home town or gained any experience and just sat in their own frustration instead. Suffice to say, this place sucks and I wouldn't recommend supporting it. Go the extra mile and support a business that actually caters to its customers and doesn't self support with poor business management. read more

Everyone complaining about the pumps being old KNOWS that they are really going there because the cash price is the cheapest gas in town. Prices stay low because of the "not broken, don't fix it" attitude of the owner. There are plenty of more expensive places with nicer equipment, but let's be real we aren't going because of the equipment, we are coming here for the low prices. read more

The car wash is not maintained. The first bay had sprayers that clearly needed attention and a payment machine that would not take money--the slots were taped over. I drove to a bay on the other end (there was a guy laying/sitting on the ground in the center bay). I put $3.00 in the machine (.75 more than required because I wanted more time for my dirty car). The soak water sprayed out fine, but when I switched the machine to add soap it got real wonky. The water would spray, then stop, struggle to spray again, the stop. this went on for the balance of time left. Oh, and btw, it was not adding soap, just attempts at water. I went to the open window to chat with the attendant, but alas s/he wasn't there. I waited for too long, s/he didn't show up and I wasn't gonna go around looking for him/her. This is the second time (and likely the last) I'll try to use this station for anything. The first time, some years ago, the station appeared to be open I think the attendant was across the street at the 7-11 just standing there staring at me. read more

The clerk is kinda rude when i wanted to pay for my gas in cash. He told me i could pay at the pump with my card "if i wanted too" and i am assuming thats because its more per gallon with the card. What I like about this gas station is it doesn't have the annoying corporate feel of the other stations in town, and it offers a discount for paying with cash. If you want to be coddled by staff go to a 5 star restaurant, don't seek it out at a gas station. read more

The name Gas Mart is something of a misnomer, as the "mart" isn't customer accessible; rather, its a glass enclosed pay-booth that allows the checker to sell a small selection of tobacco and other tid-bits through an industrial-style metal slot. He was a real nice fellow, although his gas was kind of expensive and he wouldn't take a credit card (only cash or debit). Anecdotally: there's an equally old-school self-service car wash adjacent to the Gas Mart, but their connection is unclear. read more

The only reason why I don't give it 1 star is because prices are a few pennies cheaper than most other places around here. That's it. The place is a dump. Dirty everywhere you look. Very rude cashier! I was coming back to downtown from Target and had do leave for SF, and I stopped at this place. I swiped my debit card couple of times, and got message to see the cashier. I spoke to cashier he came outside and asked..from where are you..what educated are you? I told him. Then he told..what have you studied and learnt you don't know how to use the card..then he gave couple of more unnecessary rude tips..My mind was boiling and controlled my self..never going back to this place. Well, they updated their carwash with a fancy new system, but it's worse than the old one. It's more expensive and you have less time to finish your process. It costs 9 quarters now as opposed to the 7 quarters before the change. I used the same process as I always do and found myself driving away with half my car still soapy. I didn't want to pay and extra $2.25 just to finish my rinse cycle. This place is no longer convenient. It would be better to go down to Cable Carwash on 2nd Street then waste your money trying to rush through a process that you should be able to take your time on. read more

These people are awful, and so is their gas station. I go out of my way to avoid getting gas here. They are sooooo rude, and their pumps are always broken. They are especially rude to Black customers--the one time a year I end up here, I am talked to like a dog. Gross. Just gross. read more

Not much a gas station can do wrong but they found a way. Half the screens don't work, so they're basically useless, you can't read all the hand written notes on the pump and there is NEVER any receipt paper in the pump.
