You get 4 minutes for $3. I rinse the car first, then switch to foam brush and coat my car in soap suds. Then I stop the car wash and continue to scrub the car really well. I then add more $$ and rinse really well with high pressure and spotless rinse. I don't usually waste money on drying, but it can be done. You can also vacuum the car, but I prefer to use my own shop vac at home. It's not the best place, but it meets my needs. I went to the non commercial Interstate Oil gas station Tuesday night. I swiped my card, it…read moreaccepted my card and asked that I select my grade and begin fueling. I attempted to pump my gas and nothing came out. So, I pulled to a different pump and tried again. Same thing. So, realizing that maybe their pumps were closed(even though there was nothing stating as such AND it was still accepting my card) I moved to another place to get my gasoline. The next day upon reviewing my bank account I saw that they were holding $150 ($75 per attempt). It is not a charge but it is money HELD meaning I can not access it. I spoke with my bank and they had told me that I needed to talk to the gas station and have them release it. Just like anyone else I needed my money so I began trying to get it released. I called the station and was given the number of Bob Matthews who did not answer or return my call the first day. I was persistent on day two and he finally answered. He was on vacation and told me to call Bob Frost. I called and he answered and told me he was not sure how to fix it but he would call me back. After a few minutes of researching he called me back and told me that there was nothing he can do. That I simply had to wait for the computer to clear it. He expected it would happen tomorrow, but he really did not know. He also told me that this same thing had happened to at least one other patron. I suggested that they turn off the credit portion of the machine (which I have seen before) when they turn off the pumps. His only reply was, "I don't know, I don't know." I have no access to my money and no options other than to sit and wait.

It's a sizeable one so she takes it to a chair and makes a mess. And that's a good reason to have vacuums in the stalls after. It's a gigantic central vacuum so you just take the extension. I consider myself a connoisseur of cheap car washes…read more My first boyfriend (at age 16) told me I should wash my car to distract my Dad from violating curfew after a group of us stayed out all night. Based on Greg's bizarre advice, I washed my car at a cheapo self serve car wash before driving home. While my dad didn't give a rat's ass about how clean my car was: "Where were you?!!" vs. my hoped-for "check out those white sidewalls and the freshly waxed exterior!" I did discover the delights of washing my own car that day and it's stuck with me since. With a few quarters I could suds away the crud and dead bugs and have a clean car in the midst of life's chaos. So, as a frugal Midwesterner, I love to save money and do my own labor. Damn, car washes in California are so fancy- subscriptions, multi step, $10-25? Guess what- I'd just as soon spend good money on lunch than spend on a car wash . It's going get dirty again, right? So I have become an expert at searching out cheap car washes. Usually on the wrong side of the tracks, with an old fashioned dial selection and a five dollar bill to quarters changer if you're going to be fancy. Imagine my THRILL at stumbling on this great example of a classic American car wash while in woodland a couple of weeks ago. Is that sign mid century modern! I love it! The spray was strong and the soap sudsy. There isn't a timer so you have the added incentive to Hustle! They don't have a change machine but an actual person on site who can give you quarters. You can thank me (and Greg) later after you try the car wash distraction technique on a loved one "(insert major violation) but look at the clean car!" Get to it!

Diesel is usually a dollar extra and it is here also. Don't remember if they charge extra for credit card... I almost think no. I've had some good car washes here. People are friendly and they do a nice job…read more Where I had an issue was yesterday. They close at 6 PM. I was there a little before 4:30. They would not do the interior of my car because they were sending the crew home for the day. They suggested I return the following day for a discount. Unfortunately, I had some dirt in my car and needed it vacuumed out. I ended up going to Sparkles and they took care of it. I feel like posted hours should be posted hours. If you advertise for a full service car wash, then that's what you should provide when you're open. Maybe I'm being hardcore about this, but this was disappointing and frustrating. My advice: go in the middle of the day. Don't count on them being open until 6 o'clock. Well, don't count on them washing your car until 6 o'clock. They'll do a good job.
