Please if you are going to work at a SMOKE SHOP learn the equipment and tools, especially if you do not offer refunds. I would train and EDUCATE your employees on product knowledge especially if they are just not going to double check what they picked out. AND SAY that it is a final sale there was ZERO mention that it was a final sale. Definitely lost multiple customers and will be letting people know how DISHONEST you guy's are! Do not shop here. There are other smoke shops!!! UPDATE: after we immediately went back and figured out we could not get a refund, we got store credit 50 of it, we picked a few things out and it was already late so we didn't even look through the bag. This morning we looked through the bag to set up the bullshit we got, and the dude literally did not put the main thing in the bag... so we only got HALF of our store credit. I used to be a fan of Planet K, but my opinion of this business and the people they employ has been steadily decreasing over the past year or so. After my most recent experience I will do my best to avoid this place completely. Last Wednesday I went to the Planet K on South Lamar looking for a whipped cream dispenser because while going through some boxes that I hadn't emptied after my last move I found some nitrous oxide cartridges. It was the day before Thanksgiving. We had some time to kill and figured what better opportunity than now to sit around and play with whipped cream. The South Lamar Planet K was sold out of dispensers, but they were able to check the inventory of other stores on their computer and they told me that the Planet K on Stassney would be able to help me out. My girlfriend and I went to the Stassney location and we bought a dispenser and even bought another box of cartridges to add to the cartridges we already had at home. We don't play with whipped cream often, but when we do, boy do we. I paid cash, and stupidly told the cashier I didn't need a receipt when she offered one. Planet K transactions aren't really something that I want on my bank statement, and I didn't really think I wanted a Planet K receipt laying around for my teenage son to find at home. When we got home we were pretty disappointed to discover that the dispenser didn't work perfectly. It opened the cartridges okay, but for most of the cartridges at least half of the nitrous oxide would shoot out of the back of the dispenser rather than going into the dispenser itself. N2O cartridges aren't cheap and this really sucked. I assure you we were using the dispenser correctly. Planet K was closed on Thanksgiving, so we couldn't go to the store on that day to talk about a return or exchange. On Friday we were way too hung over to do anything. I ended up calling Planet K today (Saturday) and explained the situation. I spoke to a man on the phone who was nice enough and he asked me to come by. My girlfriend and I stopped by and the man I spoke to tried to help us. He agreed we were using the dispenser correctly. He asked a female manager to come over to where we were talking and she did. She told me I was using the dispenser wrong. When I explained the process we were doing she rudely said "look you just put your CO2 here and twist, you have to twist hard, and then it fills the tank." I said "that's what I've been doing, and it's not CO2, it's N2O. C02 is carbon dioxide and can't be used for this. What you want to use is nitrous oxide." The female manager glared at me and said "LOOK! You take the thing of WHAT EVER THE FUCK! AND YOU STICK IT RIGHT HERE! AND YOU TWIST! HARD!" At this point I took out a cartridge, loaded it the way she said, twisted, and just as I explained, about three-fourths of the gas escaped out the back of the dispenser rather than going into the dispenser itself, essentially wasting more than half the N20. The girl just shrugged. The dude just stood there. I said, "so you're not going to help us?" She shrugged again and walked off. The dude that was standing there just said, "I don't know, man. Sorry." So my girlfriend and I left. Again, it's my fault that I paid cash and didn't have a receipt, but I definitely didn't expect to be cussed at and treated this way by a manager. Again, if I can avoid this company (all locations) in the future I will. Most everything can be purchased off of Amazon these days anyway. So maybe one day in the future Planet K will just be another victim of Amazon's war on small businesses. We purchased one pack of candy one night, (Razzels to be exact) which were priced for $1.99. The very next day we noticed we had been over charged $21. When we returned to receive our money the next day, the lady at the cash register was nice but the lady that pushed her out the way was very rude. Initially we thought she was just trying to take over the situation but she seemed pretty annoyed that we were there for a refund. While explaining our situation, she placed her hand up as if she was telling me to be quiet, while everyone else ran around the store trying to help us out. Once we returned for a third time, to grab our receipt copy the same rude lady, felt the need to state "and next time you don't have to come in here being all rude" When asked, as calmly as possible, "how was I being rude?" The people that work there are awesome and very friendly, they dont hover over you and bother you while you look, they have a great (and huge) selection of glass pieces and everything is labeled nicely. On May 31, 2014 I purchased a "Buck Naked" Express e-cigarette from Planet K at Stassney for $39.99. The woman who sold my wife and I the product told us that if anything went wrong within a 30-day time frame, feel free to return the e-cigarette to Planet K. Some three weeks later the e-cigarette proved to have a defect. When I called to inform them of the problem. After a woman answered, "Planet K, hey whassup," I explained my problem and said I was coming over to the store to return the product for another. The woman, initially sounding "hip" suddenly became incredibly corporate, telling me it was impossible to rerun it. I then asked for the store manager. A man, Kevin, asked me to reiterate my story. After doing so he told me to bring the e-cigarette back top the store and he'd "swap it out for another one. " Additionally, he explained, "I always want to do right by my customers." Now, my wife and I are smokers, and purchase a $43 tin of American Spirit tobacco every 5 or six days. At 5.5 tins a month we spend $236.50 at Planet K on Stassney. Since we also purchase tubes for our tobacco there at $5 a pop, that's somewhere between $250 and $260/ month that we spend at the store. When I arrived at the store I showed Kevin the problem, which seemed to be a defect with the Buck Naked Expresses' tank, as a portion of its metal interior was bent in, not allowing the tank and battery portion of the e-cigarette to sufficiently screw together. Suddenly, Kevin told me he would not replace anything to do with the e-cigarette, calling it a, "Wear and tear" issue, and therefore my fault. when both my wife and I asked him if many of the product was returned he said, "Hardly ever," which is obvious double-speak since the product was rarely returned, and had NEVER been returned with a similar problem, there was no way he could tell us it was a wear and tear issue! However, Kevin remained staunch in not even exchanging the tank, which cost $10 should you buy a replacement. What he did is offer to SELL us a replacement at a 25% discount, while lying to my face telling me, "I thought you were talking about the battery," when, while on the phone with him earlier, I especially made sure he understood which portion of the e-cigarette was broken. In the end, Kevin, the Planet K manager, sacrificed at least $250/month in business from one set of customers for a $10 e-cigarette tank, because we will NEVER buy anything at ANY of their stores again; Oat Willie's, though a few more miles away from us, is infinitely more respectful toward its customers than the employees of Planet K. PLANET K!!!! Coming thru like always for the things we needed and also the things that bring me back to my childhood and literally every other part of my life! My wife and I where planning our evening out and the last stop on our list of adventures was....you guessed it Planet K! My beautiful and wonderful wife was wanting to get new hair color they carry made by Punky Color. And it never fails when we go in the store that we end up staying every bit of a hour and usually more. They have everything you could ever need as far as novelty shops go! We had never been to the location off of Stassney before and I have to say, I love all the diversity of art & graffiti each location provides as you can spend quite a bit of time just admiring some of the local art and graffiti that is a significant part of what makes ATX so unique and wonderful and the place we have called home for so many years. Tonight, between laughing so hard and some of the hilarious statements made out on to small buttons or refrigerators magnets...(evidently funny enough they we purchase 14 for our personal collection!) and the copious amounts of CBD products, which as someone with "Chromic" neck & back pain, I've gone from consuming 8-12 Advil within a 24hr period everyday of my life for more than 6 years, I take no more than 1 half a dropper or every once in awhile if I slept wrong or something I have gone well over a year without touching one Advil! So literally no matter is your In pain or your dog has separation anxiety, I have not found much that CBD doesn't work on! What does all is this that this guy is babbling about have to do with Planet K? If you need help or product to help assist your green thumb or CBD products for pain ect or you just need a good laugh, Planet K has got you covered! We even got some sea monkeys just to show they will have you covered. And not to mention after spending 17+ wonderful years with my wife it's now the little things that really mean so much and tonight I found...nothing crazy but never the less something that allowed me to go the extra step from just speaking those 3 words that not only do I feel with every fiber of my being, and she loves flowers but this is something that will last a lifetime and will be let her know that If I'm not physically there to tell her "I LOVE YOU!! Then she will be able to look at this and it can be another way for her to see my love and appreciation for her and who she is to me in this crazy Life...my wife and I'm movers Moved away from Austin about 5-6 years ago and it's nights like tonight that take me on a trip down memory lane and allow me to remember how much I miss this town! The people and the places like Planet K that's literally a staple of this amazing town, from hanging with Stevie Ray down on town lake, to watching the bats take flight from the bridge as you can't help but to witness the breathtaking views of the state capital and the Amaizing architecture that Is DT ATX to stepping out a little to Mount Bonnell at night to look at the grid Of radio and cell towers that look like something right out of the matrix as you stand above lake Austin. It's hard to go anywhere in this wonderful town and not have a overwhelming sense these is something absolutely special about this place and it's people! And if you stay here for long you'll find you'll never want to leave and If you ever make the mistake and leave you'll be homesick until you come back! I went in Planet K, to purchase a vape e cigarette. I did not know too much about them, so was inquiring with a woman staff there about them, and the music was so loud in there, I could not hear what she was saying to me. I did comment, saying, I could not hear her, and the music was too loud, and neither her or the guy staff member, turned it down. I thought it was very rude.
