The experience was fine shopping for lingerie, the issue was the staff who checked us out was being shady. So I tried on some lingerie and chose what I was going to purchase and handed it to my partner to pay for it while I dressed. It was only a two piece. But he came back and told me that the lady said that there was a third piece that went with it. I was like, oh did it?? So as I was trying multiple pieces I can see how that might be the case that some how I handed the wrong piece. Turns out she was just wanting us to buy two sets. So when I looked in the bag I asked my partner? Oh did you want to purchase both? So we didn't even walk out yet and we asked to return the unwanted items. She says, "oh I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you, we can only give you a refund if you become an account holder with us." So we said okay make an account we want a refund. We made an account. After we finished making an account she says again. "Oh I'm sorry I forgot to tell you we don't offer refunds, we only can give you a gift card in the same amount." We called her out on that one and said no. So she was indeed able to give us our refund back after we made a scandal about it. But we noticed this type of behavior with her with other customers as well. One of the customers had asked about the sale and she tells them "oh I forgot to mention that sale is only valid if you spend $100+ dollars." So I'm thinking they are commission based workers and are just trying to upsell everything. Which is fine upsell but don't be dishonest and shady about it. Things I have boughten here in the past: A black corsette for a 50 Shades of Gray Party (and gloves and stockings to match). A tutu to dress my gorilla in (for Gorilla Run, duh!). A stretchy piece of purple fabric that supposedly you can wear about a hundred ways, around the boobs, thru the crotch, up the ass, etc. Hell, you could probably use it as a tourniquet for a snakebite or as a hogtie. I only know one way and that's as a halter top that I've worn to Carnaval several times. It allows for quick exposure :) Hot pink thigh high stockings and rainbow colored stockings for my arms that I'm wearing this year to Carnaval (I may be a bit overdressed this year :). Saw it in the window and fell in love (with the outfit and also with the girl that works there...very creative! She needs to come dress me!). BTW, they have a great dressing room feature: black lights! So you can see how your outfit looks, er, in the right strip club setting. My favorite FM pumps (see pic). I don't usually do well in heels (I topple easily) but these are not only comfy enough to run from the cops in, but they are smokin hot (they've definitely gotten me f***ked). I was pleasantly surprised at the nice sized collection of lingerie they had, compared to other places I've been to. Most places I try I only one or two things, but I found five I really liked! I picked my favorite and I'm really happy with it. The staff was really friendly too and was helpful when I needed it, but not pushy in any way and let me browse on my own which made the shopping experience more relaxing. Upon walking in the store one of the sales associates asked me if I needed help with anything. I mentioned I wasn't really looking for anything in particular just that my boyfriend was coming into town and I wanted to buy a nice piece of lingerie for him. He lives over three hours away so I don't really get to see him often and this was the whole purpose of my trip to the store, to get something nice for him and our evening. I end up with multiple items, not just lingerie, and I put it all at the cash register to be checked out. She was helpful enough to find a way to get me a discount (checking in on yelp) and I did appreciate that--initially she was very friendly. Limited on time once I got home, I start looking through the bag for the lingerie and noticed it wasn't there... The only reason I went to the store was for the lingerie yet that was the only thing not in my bag. *face slap* (Not to mention I live far south so it takes me 30+ minutes just to get there; I had plans to be in that area in the evening so I killed two birds with one stone.) That being said, I had no time to return to the store and my entire surprise was ruined. Normally it wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fact I had been playfully mentioning a surprise for him throughout the day knowing I was planning on doing this. The following day I called the store to confirm that I left it there--I didn't want to drive all that way if for some reason I was the one who lost it in transit. The lady who answered was not the one who checked me out, but did mention that it was there waiting for me and even said something along the lines of her remembering me being there, remembering the lingerie, and mentioned that the lady who checked me out "tried running out to give it to me" but that I had already driven away. Also mentioning that the checkout lady felt bad that she forgot to put it in my bag. (Upon hearing this, my -assumption- was that it was paid for along with all the other items and was simply missed when putting everything into my bag.) I told her I would head that way to pick up the lingerie. Unfortunately for me I was in a rush and left my wallet at home. (I have two bags: one for work and one more as a purse. I grabbed my purse not realizing I had my wallet in my work bag.) In my head I believed the lingerie was paid for and didn't see this as a big deal, thinking I would be able to just grab it and go, especially since both ladies remembered me and my interaction/checkout there. Upon arrival, the lingerie is right there ready to go and the lady who rang me up the previous day comes over to look up the receipt I guess to confirm that was mine. Immediately she mentions how if it wasn't in my bag, then she didn't ring it up. (???) She pulls up my receipt and confirms that she never rang it up, gives me a blank stare, and matter-of-factly states that it still had the detector thing on it, saying she wouldn't bag it without ringing it up. I mentioned how I put it in the same pile along with everything else that managed to get into my bag so I don't see how it was missed. She continues to point the blame on me and says she was just doing her job--wouldn't DOING YOUR JOB be to ring up ALL the items I NEATLY PLACED at the cash register for you??????? If I knew I had to stand there and watch you with great observation to ensure you did your job correctly (which shouldn't be something I have to do), I would have gladly done so if that meant getting the ONLY item I went to the store for AND the first thing I told you to your face upon walking in the store! Instead I was checking in to yelp for you guys and to get the discount you did help me with. She said it was my fault for not checking my receipt, which would have shown that it wasn't listed--my dumbass assumed you did your job correctly so I'm sorry I didn't think to scroll through my entire receipt making sure you could execute your job properly after the fact. I wish they would have told me over the phone it wasn't paid for because clearly they knew AND, why would she "try running to my car" if I hadn't paid for it? All that did was lead me to believe it was paid for and simply left behind. Their communication with me was completely misleading and I will admit I am also at fault for assuming greater capabilities in them. Not only did I drive all of that for no reason, but I left my wallet at home so I didn't pay for it, which I would have done because of all the trouble driving there. I appreciate they don't keep cards on file, but FML. Although her "So are you going to pay for it" wasn't appealing. The "oh well, your fault" attitude I received left a bad taste in my mouth. I later called to ask about their return policy but unfortunately it's for in-store credit only. My intent was to return the $150 worth of items I did buy because needless to say I will never return. Own up to your mistakes. It's seriously not my fault you didn't ring up all the items I gave to you. read more

I read on the yelp reviews that it was a female-run and female-focused place, and I found that to be true. There were only 3 male customers (1 of them with me) and they were well behaved. Only one of them made me slightly uncomfortable, but he was later joined by his wife so it was ok. Le Rouge has a large section of lingerie and I liked a good portion of it! I really love this store. I love the ladies who work the counter who are always sweet, I love every single piece of clothing they sell, I love their opening and welcoming attitude. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a wide selection of choices. The funniest thing about this store is that one of the women who works there asks me every time I check out if I qualify for the entertainer's discount. I never know how to take this, seeing as I'm not an entertainer of any sort, really. Should I take up entertaining? Do the types of products I buy indicate that I'm doing some entertaining? I can't deny this, of course, but it's always been for an extremely small audience of one (well, maybe two, if you count myself), and I generally don't charge anything, which to my understanding would be one of the tenents of the entertainment business. Of course, my gf thinks that I'm thinking about this way too much, and just insists that the woman is hitting on me. My husband was very pleased with what I brought home from La Rouge. We stopped by here after we went to to a chronicle event called Hump Tour.
