Moss Designer Consignment was my first stop. They generally have good selections at great prices especially if they are on the final mark down. Moss is an excellent luxury resale shopping destination. Located on South Lamar, the store feels more like a boutique than a traditional consignment shop. The layout of the store is spacious, open and beautifully organized to allow ease of browsing and shopping. The store has high-end women's designer clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories. You can pick up statement pieces at a fraction of the original retail price and feel confident in the quality of what you're buying. The staff was very helpful and friendly...opening up cases to allow you to see merchandise up close, at your leisure. They have an on-site authenticator of all their goods, which gives you a certain peace of mind that you are getting authentic pieces. While today, I did not find anything I could not live without, I will certainly pop in the future when I have free time to shop.

Mazúr Boutique co-exists in the same building with Mazúr Coffee. What a cool co-location concept…read more Mazúr Boutique sells women's and children clothing along with jewelry and accessories. In addition, there are a few pairs of shoes being sold in the store as well. The store has a light and airy persona. The clothing was chic yet practical. The clothing ranged from pieces that might be of interest to Generation X or Y's to Baby Boomers. Mazúr Boutique also had a few shoes for sale as well. It was delightful to see the Longhorns (University of Texas at Austin mascot...in the house) prominently displayed on some of the children's clothing. Given that Mazúr Boutique co-exists with Mazúr Coffee, you can have a cup of coffee and shop or shop and have a cup of coffee...your choice. These are two complementary businesses housed under the same roof. In addition, there is free parking in front of the building as well as along side of the building for your convenience. The boutique representative was very friendly and offered me suggestions when I told her what I was looking for. Items are reasonable price and they are also having a sale. I like the whole retail and coffee therapy vibe!

The new store is very spacious and well designed with natural wood displays and nice lighting. The clothing tends to be in the preppy outdoor vein with good selections of semi-expensive brands and extensive menswear and women's sections. In the back of the store is whole room devoted to luggage and footwear, and you'll also find everything from sunglasses to candles in other parts of the store. One of my favorite touches was the cute clubhouse style lounge for kids to watch TV while parents shop. And there's even a built-in bar in another section for events. The employees are friendly, everything is clean and new, and it's a nice place to shop if you want to browse and see how things fit.
