This place has been around for a long time but I've never tried it . It's a fairly decent size casual place and they a good size menu selection . I thought it was a Portuguese kind of place but guess it's Peruvian . Service was a bit slow. It took a little while before we got our food. I ordered half chicken which came rice. My husband got bistec . The food was fairly decent. Nothing to completely rave about my chicken was very dry. It was a rotisserie style chicken. My husband steak did not really have much taste. They do give you a green sauce which actually helps elevate the flavors. They have a few other menu items. I would consider trying if I ever get around to trying this place again, but they are doing something right because it always seems to be busy here. Definitely a lot of takeout orders.

Great food and service. Awesome rotisserie chicken, tostones, and their green sauce is amazing!

I wanted to try something new and my bf recommended this place and it is his go to spot for Peruvian food. We went on a Thursday night with a couple of people dining in. We got the jalea, half roasted chicken and rice and everything was so delicious. Highly recommend asking for the green sauce and the tomato and onion sides! It paired really well with the food. It added a element of flavor to the jalea and chicken when eaten together. The food was fantastic, the roasted chicken was surprisingly tendered and flavorful. Workers were really nice and service was fast. Overall would come back and try everything else on the menu!

The atmosphere was strong and the service was very fast. This is a local place with huge take take food. We had the hot dog app and it was really good. My dinner was great to look at and also tasted incredible.

Over the years I loved traveling through the town to pick up some take out. Chicken, rice and a hearty plate of steak and fries, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately as the popularity grew the quality of the food has gone down. Lomo was dry, fries were barely cooked and the tostones were hockey pucks. Value of the food is okay. Two meals will run you just under $40. Make sure you call ahead during dinner hours it can take a while to place your order

Delicious food. Some of the best pollo alla braza that I have had in the USA! Their hucaina sauce is to die for as well. The vibes are very small town, community centered. The service is quick and efficient even when speaking a different language. The prices are also very reasonable and the portions are HUGE! Highly recommend giving Planet Chicken a try.

Favorite Peruvian cuisine. The waiters are always so welcoming! I can say we're regulars at this restaurant as they know us already. Every dish is delicious. Cocina peruana favorita. ¡Los camareros son siempre muy acogedores! Puedo decir que somos regulares a este restaurante porque ya nos conocen. Cada plato es delicioso.

A Peruvian BBQ joint in Plainfield?…read more I can't believe I am the first to write a review about this place.... The food here is ah-freaking-mazing! Might I add that it is reasonably priced? You get half of a whole succulent melt-in-your-mouth chicken that has been roasted and bbq'd to perfection, a TON of thick fresh cut fries, AND a side salad with their own made from scratch house dressing ( which looks like a creamy cillatro dressing)...for around $9 !!! Don't order this and think that you are going to share it with another person just because it is a lot of food...you are going to try to eat it all. This is just the tip of the iceberg...they have a large variety of Peruvian tasty treats to offer. Come here with a big appetite...you won't be dissapointed. The staff is so nice and customer friendly...and they have live music on some days. This place definitely gets a "nom,nom,nom".....

They've moved like 3 times I think and I've followed them each time lol they are just so worth it. If you want real Peruvian food made by real Peruvian, try it! Cuz here's some tea I found out, a lot of these Peruvians places DONT even have Peruvians cooking the food???? Does not make sense and this place DOES! This place is a hidden gem! The saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" applies here. It's a small…read moreplace that can easily be missed unless you're looking for it. Cleanliness: I have been there twice and both times I've watched as the waitresses clean the tables and chairs thoroughly, followed by a quick sweep under the tables before each new guest. That gave us peace of mind for sure. Service: The waitresses were very kind. We aren't very familiar with Peruvian food (we always eat the same dishes) and they helped us choose a new "to us" appetizer they felt we would like. Which we ended up liking a lot. They checked in on us during appropriate times and refilled our waters. When we asked for the check it came quickly without us feeling rushed. It was a good experience. Meals: Appetizer: Yuca Huchaina (I totally spelled that wrong..sorry) fried Yuca with cheese sauce. It was delicious. Fried to perfection. We ate it all up embarrassingly fast. Hey, we were hungry lol! Drink: we tried the "Chicha" purple drink. Wow this was amazing. Yes it is purple! It is sweet and has a touch of pineapple in it. We opted to get a pitcher for the three of us. Vida Seafood dish- It came with ceviche, leche de Tigre and fried seafood mix. This dish was a big hit. My parents said they would order it next time. It hit all the things I was craving. I loved that I got the best of both worlds with half fried seafood and half ceviche (fish only). Ceviche and leche de Tigre was super flavorful with spices and lime. I got extra spice and it was perfect. I wanted to drink it right from the small bowl it was that good. My Dad ended up finishing my plate once I got full. He was super jealous of my plate haha! - Ceviche Classico- Also Flavorful and yummy. If you're super hungry this may not fill you up. Hence, why my Dad finished my meal but he loved it! I had this dish during my first visit. It was delicious. - Pescado Saltado...my Mom loved this dish. The fish literally falls apart in your mouth. Every piece was flavorful and drenched in the yummy sauce. It came with rice and French fries and plenty of fish pieces. Overall: I give this place a 5. What matters to us is quality and taste of the food, service and cleanliness. And they deserve 5 stars for Leche De Tigre.

The rice had too much soy sauce and the rice was partially undercooked. The Jalea was on the smaller side this time around and had more calamari than anything else. Usually it's a good mix. My husband ordered grilled fish ( which was a filet ) we had to send it back the fish wasn't cooked all the way through. They took the same fish that my husband had removed a small piece before we realized it wasn't cooked thoroughly and cooked it longer and by the time it came back to the table it was almost half the size. True disappointment this time around

Looking to expand our palette, I suggested to my sister to try La Ronda for our first Ecuadorian…read moredining experience. To start our meal we chose two appetizers; sweet plantains with cheese (Maduros con queso) and an avocado salad (Ensalada de aguacate). The combination of grilled sweet plantains and cheese was bound to be good; the plantains were nicely caramelized and the gooey mozzarella-like cheese contrasted with just the right amount of saltiness. To balance our palettes, we added the Avocado salad and it was nicely prepared with all the vegetables being very fresh; especially the silky Avocado slices. We both enjoyed the tangy lemon juice based dressing as well. We both ordered entrees from the weekend specials section; me the Hornado (roasted pork) platter and my sister the Fritada (fried pork) platter. I really enjoyed my Hornado platter. Firstly the unique "mote" giant (boiled and peeled) corn kernels were satisfyingly sweet, juicy, and so addictive with a pleasing pop when bitten into. The spoonful of salsa topping the mote added a welcoming tang and acidity. I loved the Llapchingos (potato patties) that were slightly crispy from being pan seared, yet retaining the smooth mashed potato texture inside. Finally onto the roast pork (Hornado) which was quite flavorful with a distinct gamey taste from the moist dark meat and a hint of smokiness. Seasoning was kept quite light handed with not much I could distinguish besides salt and pepper. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her Fritada platter. The most prominent and delicious part of this platter were the several meaty and fatty fried pork chunks. This platter also had a nicely sized grilled plantain, that was just like our appetizer sans cheese. The addicting mote was here too. Finally the other difference was the inclusion of toasted corn kernels that added a nice crunch and was so reminiscent of a Peruvian side dish I've enjoyed before. To conclude, service was very attentive and friendly, and the restaurant (while not fancy) was clean and comfortable. My very good experience at La Ronda has me planning another visit soon or to seek another Ecuadorian restaurant!

The chips that came to the table were pretty good - the salsa wasn't great but they did bring the two peruvian aji sauces, which were excellent. We ordered the ceviche mixto as an appetizer and because it was actually a dinner portion it was huge! Way too big for two people. We'll have to come back with a bigger group next time. Husband had the seafood over rice and I had what was basically "all the meats" plus rice plus plaintains plus avocado. Pretty much all of my favorites on one giant plate of food. Everything was excellent. The service was top notch. The only thing I would change for next time (because we will be back) is that the entrees came out too soon - we were still working on the appetizer. Oh and the desserts - get the creama volteada (flan). Seriously the best I've had out on the east coast. Next time we will BYOB!
