When all the bars in K-Town NYC are full and have pretty long lines, Plan B is there for you! Definitely a memorable name and experience. They do provide food but my friend and I only went for drinks. Yogurt Soju is amazingly sweet and juicy. The K-Town Martini definitely takes some getting use to - the taste going down is good but the aftertaste is just like the medicine you took as a kid. It was a cute place that my friend and I found on a Saturday night after restaurant hopping. The ambiance was chill the music was great! Cute place for a date night I must say. My food was okay. Cute vibey spot with plenty of space and a good selection of food. This place is a little hard to find but it's the second floor of the building where there are multiple hot spots in ktown! It was a lot more spacious that I expected when I walked in (so a good place for groups), and I got myself on the waitlist but got seated pretty fast even though there were 6 medium parties ahead of us! The soju cocktails are pretty sweet and don't really taste like alcohol (if you like this then this is the place for you). came here on a wednesday night to catch up with three of my girlfriends and we were all super excited to try this spot because it's been forever since we dined in Ktown and wanted some yummy Korean noms. Unfortunately, we were all super disappointed by the portion sizes and some of the dishes. It's one of those spots that's aesthetically good looking but lacked so much for our hungry bellies. We ordered four food items and and a pineapple soju. Corn Cheese - 1/5 super small portion and barely any corn. It was mostly breadcrumbs and I think carrots?? underneath the cheese. How can they mess up corn cheese??? seriously wouldn't recommend. Bulgogi burger - 2/5 no flavor and bulgogi pieces were dry af. Rose ricecakes - 3/5 the ttekbboki was chewy and paired well with the sauce but it was ALL sauce for like 5 pieces of ricecakes 3 little mozzarella sticks 2 pieces of fishcake and an egg - seriously overpriced for the serving. We saved the sauce on the side to dip the fries in cause we weren't gonna let it go to waste Soy garlic wings - 4/5 super crunchy but also juicy and tender on the inside. It was a fun atmosphere with plenty of space for ourselves. They do serve bottle with the associated flares and frills. TLDR: food is good, drinks are a tad more expensive than the rest of ktown but the vibe and service are what makes this place special. I've been here a few times with my friends and we continue to return because of the atmosphere and friendly staff. I think a bottle of soju is around 19 dollars which is 4-5 dollars more than the rest of ktown. Food is similarly priced as most ktown restaurants. For food, I think my favorite dishes are the kimchi carbonara, scallion chicken, and the kimchi fried rice. These have become our go-tos. I really like the steak that comes on top of the kimchi fried rice. Food is good but nothing I would go out of my way for. I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 3 people. We ordered the New Yorker cheese spam fries, the honey garlic Korean fried chicken wings (6), and the calamari pancake. The cheese spam fries had too much cheese on top but at least it was hot. The fried chicken was lukewarm but very crispy. The pancake was soggy. I'm used to expensive restaurants in NYC but the prices here were still much higher than other Korean restaurants in the area. Stopped by on a Friday night around 1-2am, and it was pretty empty so we were seated right away. It had cool vibes with music playing and dim red lights, but it was sort of weird by how empty it was. Otherwise, it's a nice casual date or group hangout over food and drinks spot. The servers were super nice and attentive too. We asked if they had normal fries, but they didn't have just "normal" on the menu. They said that they could just take away the cheese from their cheese fries, but it would cost the same. 4/2022: We stopped by after seeing the menu on Yelp for a small bite and some drinks before heading home. It was probably an off-hour as there was only one other large party seated other than us when we arrived. Overall, the ambience was nice and the decor inside gave a chill vibe with the neon lights. We got seated and they took our order within 10 minutes and then the waiting game began. Our soju cocktails (soju sangria and yogurt soju) came fairly quickly and were delish- but we probably ended up waiting around 25 minutes for our first dish to arrive which was the King Trumpet buns (vegetarian option which isn't on the menu anymore) and it was okay- nothing to write home about imo. We probably waited another 15 minutes before the server arrived for our second and last dish- which ended up being the wrong thing and we had to send it back again and wait for the kimchi fried rice. (Which was good but pretty basic) The host did check on us a few times and expressed his frustration that we hadn't received everything after the initial 30 minutes, which we appreciated. We weren't too mad about it (prob bc we mostly came for the drinks anyways), but I don't think I'll be back again. Food was ok but probably not worth the price and the 40 minute wait time. K-town has no lack of late night food and drink spots and I've always loved visiting these with friends and enjoying a few bottles of soju and Korean food. Plan B is a newer spot that opened last year so I was excited to try it with my friends, but I wasn't too impressed. Maybe we visited on a bad day / season in early Spring, but everything felt pretty underwhelming and the food especially disappointed me. Soju and alcohol is pretty pricey here (as is the standard for spots in K-Town these days) and food is as well, though they're meant to be shareable plates. We ordered a fried rice, wings, and katsu plate to share and everything was very much just okay. The entire food menu follows the theme of greasy drunk eats that are meant to satisfy you when you're in the depths of your inebriation, but even after a few shots of soju the food didn't seem to taste any better than average. There is also something deeply unsettling about paying $20+ for food that looks like a depression meal, aka a plate of katsu cutlet on top of a pile of french fries. I guess this would be a good option for a big group of people to just get together for drinks if the price doesn't matter for the night and you don't mind indigestion but with so many other good options for late night spots in K-Town like Soju Haus, I don't think this one makes my personal list. read more

We stopped by here after looking up bars in the area. There was a promoter standing in front handing out advertisements for their happy hours/specials which looked decent (though we came too late for happy hour). Plan B is located on the second floor of the building, easy to walk up so no need to wait for an elevator. The interior is really clean and modern looking, with plenty of plants stretching along the rooms and enough seating without feeling cramped. The music is a little loud but you can talk to your friends without having to shout. The drink prices weren't too crazy, though they did have very expensive options as well (one item literally had dollar signs listed instead of the actual price lol). The cocktails were all very sweet and delicious, though the alcohol content was probably pretty low. We ordered the spam fries to share which were a nice drinking snack. The service was ok. Originally it felt fine at the time but then reflecting on it afterwards it made me feel awkward. Some of the staff werent wearing masks and they actually brought us the wrong drink order at first. They fixed it pretty quickly but it somehow made me feeling like we were inconveniencing them by having them switch it LOL. The overall vibe was pretty lively without being chaotic. The grilled kalbi and pork belly slices flew off their plates. The cod roe seafood pasta was full of flavor, with lots of jumbo shrimp. The soy wings were as good as those found at fried chicken spots. The only thing we didn't like was the seafood pancake. It was enormous, but very bland. I topped off the food with my Soju Sangria. We tried the follow 1) rose rice cakes - 3/5, I wasn't a fan of the rice cakes but I liked the other things on the plate. The sauce is fantastic 2) scallion chicken - 4/5, it's fried chicken so you know it'll be good. Good sauce on top, perfect crunchiness. Yum. These dishes were all shareable and had large portions. Ambience: It was pretty loud so I would think twice if you are looking for a dinner spot to have a conversation. It is however a good place if you're looking to enjoy food while vibing to clubby music and ambience. There's also plenty of seating for small, medium, and large parties.
