This review is going to reveal what can be considered an absolute rescue story ! Having been hospitalized, the status of my discharge was entirely uncertain. Where will I go after this hospitalization? Think about the anxiety and tension not knowing where I would be going. As an 84 year old senior citizen, this predicament could be considered filled with debilitating uncertainty. The social worker and case manager both offered information and possible dispositions. One of the referrals was to Giselle Placement Help. In fact the workers gave me a tip to start off with Giselle. I called her first and she gave me three referrals one in Lynnwood and two in the San ​ Fernando Valley. One never called back , one said I was not eligible , and the third was to an administrator who arrived at the hospital at 12:30 p.m. . After extensively interviewing myself he spoke with all the nurses and doctors in the unit and then inform me that I would be eligible to come to his facility and showed me pictures of the private room where I would be . He was extraordinarily kind and made sure that every need that I had was going to be met . In addition he actually helped me move some of my belongings . So you can see that this referral took care of enormous uncertainty and perhaps Karma is involved in making such a successful transition . ​ read more

My friend was in a hospital in San Gabriel and needed to move to an assisted living facility when he left the hospital. We were referred to Placement Helpers in Pasadena and connected with Robert Perez. I told him that we would be the only people in California who would be able to help him and visit him and that we live in Marina Del Rey. I wanted to see if he could find any place for our friend near where we live. He was outstanding in every way when he helped us. He found a place for our friend at Westwood Plaza Senior Living and we moved him there. First of all, it is only 7 miles from our house, and it is a price that our friend can afford. Most important, the people who work there are very caring, our friend loves the chef and the food, and even though he is confused, he is not complaining about living there. Robert Perez should be commended for the outstanding job he does in listening, and matching people with places. This is an ASAP service when you need As Soon As Possible help. I would not hesitate to call them. I took care of a loved one too long without help. I was referred by a Kaiser Nurse Practitioner to this service because I could no longer wait for help. Placement Helpers explained my options. They got me home health the next day, at a good price. They also came with a car and driver for me to tour a few board & care facilities. They also sent me a car and driver when I had been up all night in the ER and needed papers signed. I dealt with the proprietors, Valerie and JoAnne directly at all times. They always check in, follow up and arrange and pay for transport to a facility. They are involved and follow up. I can not say enough good things about Valerie. Today we had the very hard task of finding a place for my Dad to go when he is released from the hospital after having a stroke. My parents were living at their own home before this happened but are not able to live there now without some kind of help for Dad. Valerie took us to 3 different places and we found a place that we believe will be a great fit for my Dad and Mom. Dad will receive the care he needs, and Mom will be able to just be his wife and not a full time care giver. I first called this company because a social worker from Kaiser gave me a brochure after my grandma had to go to the hospital and could not return home by herself. The owner of the company answered the phone and put me at ease right away. She arranged for a caregiver to come and stay with my grandma, help her get dressed and showered, and do grocery shopping and errands. The woman who stayed with my grandma was a CNA and she was very nice, reliable and trustworthy. The owner made sure to keep me informed and answer all my questions and concerns in a very friendly, professional manner. She was top notch. Then, about a week ago my family had a meeting and decided that my grandma would be better off in an assisted living home, where she can have other seniors to talk to and do activities with and have staff there all the time. We were really stressed because this is a huge step and a lot to handle. Placement Helpers came to the rescue AGAIN, this time the other owner of the company arranged to take me and my parents on a tour of some wonderful local facilities. He was so knowledgeable and nice, and he clearly knew what he was talking about. I've called him several times with questions, and he always gets back to me right away and puts my mind at ease. My parents and I have picked out a great place for my grandma, we put a deposit down today, and I know she will be very happy there. I set up a Yelp account just for this because I was so turned off by this company. I called Placement Helpers to find out about home care for my grandma and first spoke with the receptionist. She was incredibly unfriendly, borderline rude, and not helpful to me at all. She was not knowledgeable about the process for getting care or the cost, or anything really, and therefore couldn't answer any of my questions. Instead, she gave me the phone number for Jessica the CEO and told me to call her. Didn't even offer to transfer me or leave a message for me. Uhh...ok. Why do I have to call the CEO for some simple questions? But ok...So I hung up the phone with her, and called this CEO person. She was equally as rude and unhelpful. I don't know anything about this process and she made me feel stupid for calling. For a CEO of a company she was extremely unprofessional and sounded more like someone who does this as a part time job and doesn't care about customers. No thanks Placement Helpers, I'll go somewhere that actually cares about people. My grandma deserves better. read more

Unbelievably wonderful! I had to find a board and care home for my mother in the Glendale area. She was in a rehab facility in Torrance and was being discharged within days. I called Jake at the social workers suggestion. He was phenomenally sensitive and thorough, I found a great place for her in one day. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

I am astonished that this company only has one review and it is a 1 star! Let me tell you, when the doctor at the hospital told us that my grandmother was going to be released but they felt that she was unable to care for herself and we needed to find an assisted living home for her we were saddened but what was shocking they only gave us 3 days notice. The hospital provided us with a list of places that could assist us in finding and securing a place for her. We called one since we were familiar (we saw an ad for them somewhere) and they told us the timeline was too short and they could not accommodate our needs. That left us slightly worried that we were not going to be able to find her a place. Then we called this company. Not only did they tell us "no problem" but they came out to the hospital to meet with us and Grandma, then they chauffeured us around to show us different assisted living homes. We had dealings with a gentleman named James and a lady named Valerie, let me tell you they were a godsend for my family. She was super sweet and friendly and what I really appreciated from James was he was very blunt and honest with us. Which we needed since we were kinda all over the place with making a decision, he brought back in focus and made making a decision very easy for us. We will always be thankful to them and what they did for us. Grandma has now been in her assisted living for 2 weeks and she is very happy there, I am so grateful for that. read more
