As an independent living resident I see assisted living, enhanced assisted living and memory care people treated with respect and care.

    Nathanael's piano recital today.
    Ben A.

My oldest son recently had a piano recital at this location. To be honest, I know nothing about the standard of care, living accommodations, or criteria necessary for a senior citizen to stay at this location. The main hall in which the piano recital was held was clean, well appointed, and very nice looking. When my two-year-old got feisty, I took her and her three young cousins for a short walk around the grounds. A short hike from the hall lead us to a koi pond, with a little sitting area and a bridge. There were two very sweet elderly folks sitting there enjoying the peaceful afternoon, and I thought for a moment that our rowdy kids would disturb them. To the contrary, The nice couple smiled, and talk to the kids like they were grandchildren. They actually thanked me for bringing the kids over in their cute little Halloween costumes. "This was the highlight of our day," said the gentleman. Every single resident that we encounter there while waiting for the link the recital today and was kind, gentle, and welcoming. I am Magent that this must be a very nice place to live, although everyone kept asking me "who's great-grandchildren are these?" There are many factors to consider when placing a loved one in a retirement community. But this place definitely seems to deserve a close look, based on the nice-looking facilities, kind people, manicured landscaping, and excellent surrounding community.

Beautiful place to be at...wonderful people , a good home for retiree, assisted living and convalescent .

Dealing with Virgina (older Filipino lady) to do an intake is the biggest waste of time. She is so…read moreunprofessional and sloppy, it is very frustrating corresponding back and forth with her when she goes out of town so often for "family emergencies", and is the main point of contact for intake. My mother is an Air Force vet that has frontotemporal dementia. She is 63, which is a little early to be experiencing this. I went on a tour of this facility back in January, so this has been a very slow process. I told Virgina my mothers age the day of the tour where she wrote it down, as well as other details such as the current facility my mother is at. I was concerned when I would call back to check on the process that she would ask me the same questions over and over, as if Virgina is suffering from dementia herself. She has been making false promises since February when she verbally told me my mother was approved to move in the first week of march. The first week rolled around and I didn't hear anything from Virgina, so i called her direct cell where i have been getting sent to voicemail ever since because she apparently has been having back to back family emergencies or events where she goes out of town (lol). She will send you to voicemail, then ask to call back later through text. I guess this facility was rieed of my checking on the status of the placement because they finally determined today after months of deliberation that my mother is suddenly "too young". This was already after Virginia said she would be moving within a week. They knew my mother's age months ago, it seems as if they are just lazy and want to pick and choose who to care for. Glad they showed their true colors before I sent the person I love the most in the world here... if anyone can suggest facilities that are diverse and have caring staff (as my mother is black), I would be totally open to suggestions because I am starting from square one again.

The outdoor space looking out at the San Gabriel Mountains is fantastic, as are the wide range of activities available to the residents. My father especially enjoys Social Cafe, a current events discussion lead by Sam Baum, the Community Relations Director. We were supported the along the whole move-in process, making a sometimes difficult transition easier. When challenges and questions arose, someone was always there to get our questions answered and to calm our fears. Upon move in, there was a concerted effort by everyone to help my dad integrate into the community. Now, eight months later, I see the staff jokes around with him, people greet him in the hallways, and get to meet his new friends. Despite the challenges of covid, the Community Director and staff have worked so hard to include families in activites and to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for visiting. We recently attended a holiday celebration with food and live music. It was lovely. Like others have commented, we knew after our first visit that this was going to be a good fit for my father. Mauricio connected her with Portia, one of the Golden Pathways advisors, who not only helped find a great residential board and care for my friend's husband, but also supported my friend thru the whole process and provided education and support to the the family as well. Not all that glitters is gold…read more I interviewed here and watched staff perform a three-person manual lift for a restroom transfer--something that should be done with a rolling commode, not three people straining with backs bent to keep a resident from falling. This is not a safe lift technique for staff or residents. Especially those who may be fall risks or wheelchair bound - as this resident was. Turns out transfers are routinely done in this unsafe manner because the 25-resident memory unit has only one rolling commode for the whole unit. One. Thats shameful. When this was brought to Director-level management, there was apparently no interest in the resident's care plan or in finding out why the unit wasn't properly equipped. The Director was only interested in finding out who disclosed the information. For a facility charging up to $40,000 a month, this level of basic equipment shortage is unacceptable. And the witch-hunting behavior of management towards nursing staff who bring valid concerns over safety is ridiculous. I am not impressed and I would not recommend.
