So glad I stopped at this place. I was at Lowe's and the cashier said this was the place to go in town. Unfortunately they moved 16 months ago and since they didn't have reviews on yelp I went to the old spot (which is just diagonal across the street) so glad I noticed it as I was going to leave and man very happy with the service, the quality of food and the good ole southern sweet tea! We had the Acadia Cassidy very tasty. I will be coming back just about every day for the food and WiFi. I'm here helping in Lake Charles and this is the closest WiFi and food in town. EDIT - so I'm updating review to 5 stars because honestly the food at this place could be roadkill and the amazing friendly smiles from the staff, the attentiveness and the family care that you receive just makes it get that extra star. My brother and I went back and the staff recognized us and made some recommendations and ask how we are doing. That right there sets them apart. Kuddos to the owner, you can't train that it's built in and they found the right people to hire.

Grilled spicy fist sandwich. Fish cooked perfectly. Soft bun and just the right spice! Very yummy.

Happened upon this place when looking for drive thru between Lake Charles to Nola. Although they had drive thru, the outside appearance grabbed us and we decided to stop. Staff is friendly and greeted us with such kindness. They offered their opinions when asked about what to order. I had the spicy grilled fish sandwich and sweet potato fries and my husband had the Fried shrimp Po-boy (delcambre) and the shoe string onion rings made in house. Everything was really good and fresh. The grilled fish in my sandwich had just the right spice and was grilled perfectly with a soft bun. The grilled onions added a perfect sweetness to the spiciness of the fish. The shrimp in the po-boy was fresh and was perfectly fried!! The atmosphere was rustic and inviting. Would definitely recommend this stop.

Suggestions are shrimp dishes, gumbo, crawfish, & sandwiches. Over half the customers are locals & regulars. As other local eateries decline, Rice Palace improves. Rear (North side) parking is easiest & offers some shade. Auto fuel at West side entry, truck services on North plaza. Do try this restaurant.

Here today! Myself…read moreand 3 of my coworkers was on our way to Florida, 2 were truck drivers. For anyone that doesn't know, truck drivers and bus drivers know the best places to eat. I had no suggestions, all I knew was I knew of the best place to get some boudin balls. Picture the 4 of us hungry hippos talking over each other wanting what we want and all claiming we knew the best place to get the best of what we craved. I cleared the least hours so when it came to driving, NOT me but I totally forgot we were passing through Louisiana so I acted exhausted and chose the rear of the van so count me out the equation hahaha. The rule of thumb is the driver gets the final say on where we stop to eat and he CLAIMED the place he knew had great food including boudin balls (I'm in the rear flipping through my Yelp reviews searching for the place I was insisted on stopping at). Ok so we pull up to this deserted hole in the wall (see picture) parking lot irritated voicing my disappointment and so did the other 2 except the driver who was reassuring us the food was DA BEST, he raved on and on about their food was life changing. We walk in and the place and it's DESERTED, but I did see a couple eating boudin balls so ok fine. Our waitress took our drink order, I wanted an Arnold Palmer and she explained their tea wasn't sweet because majority of their customers were seniors. As we're looking over the menu the driver wasn't, he still insisting the food was da chiii and already knew what he wanted, I'm looking for BOUDIN BALLS hangry (hungry/angry) coworker 3 saying we needed to go elsewhere, coworker 4 asking is the food even Cajun and do they have seasoning she could add. As we're ordering I asked WHERE ARE THE DANG boudin balls, she say they don't have them and what I saw the couple had was fried mushrooms balls. The driver who chose the restaurant was conveniently in the restroom! We all order and waited impatiently for our meals still complaining and small talking. Our meals arrive and the 3 of us looking at our plates like toddlers deciding if we was going to eat what we was given, the waitress said it's a lot she knows. Naw lady, this a hole in the and inflation too high to waste on food we won't like, this Louisiana and we know there's better in this State. WE took our first bites in unison and said DAMN looks are deceiving! THEEE flavor was there! Each of us started raving about what we ordered and offering each other a taste of Louisiana cooking! The portions were enough to take with us since we would be arriving in Florida late and had to clear 8 hrs before we took over our buses. We was so satisfied with the portions of out left overs that we didn't need to spend anymore money, we want to sleep the rest of the ride. WE highly recommend Rice Palace if you want to try a different restaurant in Louisiana, or a budget because eating on a road trip isn't as affordable anymore we have to be cost conscious. Here today! Yup will be back tomorrow!

We tried a few different bites, and everything was exactly what you want from a spot like this -- flavorful, fresh, and satisfying every single time. Food: The food is really the main attraction here. Nothing overly fancy or trying too hard, just consistently good food that delivers every time. Everything we tried was solid, and it's the kind of place where you already know you're leaving happy before you even order. Service: Service was smooth with no issues at all. The staff kept things moving, and the experience was easy from start to finish. Ambiance: Billy's has that classic Louisiana stop-through feel to it. Nothing extravagant, but it doesn't need to be. The food speaks for itself. Overall: Not much to rave about besides the food -- and honestly, that's all it needs. Billy's is officially one of my can't-miss stops anytime I'm driving through Lafayette. I'm never passing this place up.

The cracklins had a little bit of fat and meat on them which I wasn't used to. I'm just used to the fried crispy skin. It tasted more like fried/seasoned pork belly. The seasoning is really good though. My favorite boudin was Billy's more than the smoked one but my fiance liked the smoked flavor more. I wish we took pics but we just ate it in the car. The casing was a little tough to bite through so I sliced it and scooped out the insides. Although the Billy's boudin is good, I don't know if it was good enough to drive from Texas for it. I need to search for more places while I'm here.

I came specifically for the crawfish and the Fish Out of Water appetizer, which I order every single time. That appetizer alone keeps me coming back. There is almost always a wait, so I typically head straight to the bar, settle in, and enjoy a cocktail while my table is being prepared. This visit I tried the Bayou Mermaid. It is sweeter than my usual drink preference, but it was surprisingly very good and well balanced. I believe my server's name was Haley, though I may be mistaken. Either way, she was attentive, pleasant, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The crawfish were amazing as always, seasoned well and served hot. It is consistently worth the wait. If you are in Lafayette during crawfish season, The Cajun Table should absolutely be on your list.

Our server Sarah seated us and we ordered 15 pounds of crawfish. She also provided recommendations. The interior was unique with lots of pictures of crawfish. Lively music was playing in the background. The crawfish was fresh and juicy, I ate 4 pounds myself. We also ordered the nachos, which came with fried crawfish, jalapeños, and queso. The nachos were delicious and full of flavor. Overall the food and service was great even though the place was busy and slightly understaffed. If I'm ever around this place again, I'm definitely coming back.
