Stopped for lunch here on our roadtrip from Fl to Tx and saw this local business off the main highway! Easy parking and they also have a drive through! We walked in and checked out the menu before ordering at the front. I got a shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries and a side salad. My fiance got the turkey club with onion rings. We thought the sides came with it, but realized after we were charged for an onion loaf appetizer which explains why we got the whole bloomin' onion! lol! Since we were on a long drive we unfortunately couldn't take leftovers. The portions were HUGE! My sandwich was good, but I only had half off the bread since it was just too much for the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were amazing and also huge. I just had water, but my fiance got the frozen root beer and we both loved it. Tasted like an Italian ice! The girl working asked if he was sure he wanted a small since it was super tiny. He went with medium and it was huge. Everything was huge. To be completely honest it has always had a racist feel to the establishment. However , if you don't mind that the frozen lemonade is good. I work in Crowley Mon-Thur. I have been to PJ's about 7 or 8 times. Every single time I asked them to please make me some fresh crispy fries. Not once have they done this. Everytime I get back to my apartment I open my bag to find cold soggy French fries. The younguns working there are just in a hurry to get you out. They could care less. Came for breakfast and got the southern platter. At first i thought it was funny to see my country fried steak without gravy on top. I soon found out that it did not need gravy, the breading and meat were packed full of flavor, wonderful texture with the crunchy exterior and the tender meat. The biscuits that came with it also didn't need gravy but alas, it has gravy anyway! My eggs were cooked perfectly and the best surprise of all were my potatoes. I have never had chopped potatoes with a glaze of sweet and savory the way i had them here. The skins seemed to be caramelized, making every bite as delicious as the last. 100% stop here and try anything, i dare you. Also, stiff drinks made well and the beignets are banging! read more

So glad I stopped at this place. I was at Lowe's and the cashier said this was the place to go in town. Unfortunately they moved 16 months ago and since they didn't have reviews on yelp I went to the old spot (which is just diagonal across the street) so glad I noticed it as I was going to leave and man very happy with the service, the quality of food and the good ole southern sweet tea! We had the Acadia Cassidy very tasty. I will be coming back just about every day for the food and WiFi. I'm here helping in Lake Charles and this is the closest WiFi and food in town. EDIT - so I'm updating review to 5 stars because honestly the food at this place could be roadkill and the amazing friendly smiles from the staff, the attentiveness and the family care that you receive just makes it get that extra star. My brother and I went back and the staff recognized us and made some recommendations and ask how we are doing. That right there sets them apart. Not a fan. Beautiful building....my grilled shrimp (8) had a coating on them. Salad was shredded lettuce with one slice of tomato. Sweet potato fries were room temperature and greasy.....wife had the grilled chicken.....laughed at her salad....and no seasoning on her chicken......I'd pass on this one, or maybe try the chili dog. read more

Happened upon this place when looking for drive thru between Lake Charles to Nola. Although they had drive thru, the outside appearance grabbed us and we decided to stop. Staff is friendly and greeted us with such kindness. They offered their opinions when asked about what to order. I had the spicy grilled fish sandwich and sweet potato fries and my husband had the Fried shrimp Po-boy (delcambre) and the shoe string onion rings made in house. Everything was really good and fresh. The grilled fish in my sandwich had just the right spice and was grilled perfectly with a soft bun. The grilled onions added a perfect sweetness to the spiciness of the fish. The shrimp in the po-boy was fresh and was perfectly fried!! The atmosphere was rustic and inviting. What a delicious, delightful surprise find on our road trip!! Driving from Florida to Texas on I-10, we wanted lunch, but NOT at a fast food chain. PJ's Grill checked those boxes and much more! The staff was helpful in explaining the menu choices, and "feel" of the place was very neighborly. The Bon Poulet sandwich with fabulous grilled onions made it into a delicious surprise. The Bon Cochon ham Poboy was excellent, made even better with the delicious bun. Go there!! read more

It's good to see a place that's not a chain open up Crowley. We come here for lunch or a beer between kid's baseball games on the weekends we play tournaments in Crowley. The burger was just ok, but wouldn't get it again. Kid loved the Frito pie. But the real star is the ONION RINGS. They are shoestring sliced and delicious. Can't wait to try other things here. I've been here so many times I can't believe this is my first Yelp review. Everything's good always. The burgers are phenomenal. Especially the Cajun burger and spicy fries. I could eat 10 pounds of the spicy fries. Frozen root beer is off the chain. Today I was hungry for something different so I got nachos and a loaded baked potato. Pretty good. Sam got a grilled chicken salad and she destroyed it. I love the variety here. From potatoes, to burgers, to chicken strips, to salads, to omelettes. Can't go wrong with a meal from Pjs. The physical plant is unique and fun. The indoor decor is friendly and welcoming. That's worth a couple of stars. So, we stopped in for a mid-afternoon meal after visiting relatives nearby. My wife had a double-patty burger without bread, and I'm always a sucker for a muffuletta. Now, I'm originally from Louisiana, just a few miles from this restaurant, and I've had the original muffuletta from Central Grocery as well as a few muff wannabes. One thing I've never associated with a good muffuletta is bologna. And that's the only meat I saw on this one. I was incredulous at first. Yes, there's an olive salad, and it was pretty good. But bologna? There should be a disclaimer! At least it was fried. I like fried bologna, but that's not what I ordered. I expected mortadella or ham and salami. My wife's patties were not fresh. They were pre-made. So kudos on the decor. The food, which is what I paid for, was woefully below par. Let me know when they get better, and I may give them another chance. Catfish dinner use to be fire but they gave me 3 small ass strips of fish, burger topping salad as to be expected, and comes with fries for $16.48!!! I'll start with the good. Onion rings are made and French fries are soft and lemonade is fresh and good. The coach Cassidy was good but needed more catfish. Too much bread to fish ratio. Fish borderline too salty. The crawfish kickers just taste and smell weird. It's a mystery what it is as the worker doesn't know either. The Philadelphia lawyer burger although looked nice was bland and just eh. They need to learn to season the meat. Was passing thru Crowley and found this place - I ordered the catfish platter. The catfish was NOT crispy, and that is an unforgivable food crime. I selected 1/2 a baked potato and was charged xtra for every topping - there wasn't any butter on the potato. We were looking for something other than fast food on our drive home from a camping trip and we found PJ's. Our food came out very quickly after ordering. My husband and two boys all had burgers. All three did they were very good. My husband had the onion strings with his. He was given a very generous portion and they were delish. My son had their homemade chips which were perfectly cooked and also very good. I had a very generous taco salad which was also very good. The crawfish hush puppies were cold inside and the salad was wilted. I relayed to the manager about the hush puppies being cold and it was like he could careless. Incredible Breakfast! Stopped in off the Interstate and had the beat breakfast I have had in quite a while. Breakfast potatoes have a touch of Steens cane syrup and were delicious. Drove through for coffee at 6:15am and was happy to find their drive thru open and their staff were friendly and accommodating, and their dining room was full of locals already. It's tough to find a good local restaurant along the interstate, with a drive-through, that is open early. read more

The drive thru is always slow to take your order, they charge full price for a baked potato with only butter (the same price as a loaded potato), and staff could definitely be more on the friendly side. It seems that with the new location came higher prices but lower quality. Very sad. read more
